 El pasado 2 de Noviembre, alrededor de 2000 visitantes y 700 participantes se congregaron en Trossigen, donde la Federation Intenationale de L´Harmonica (FIH) y la compañía Hohner celebraron la sexta edición del World Harmonica Festival (6th World Harmonica Festival).Para acceder a una información más completa: 6th World Harmonica Festival Artístas de la talla de Olivier Ker Ourio (Francia), the King's Harmonica Quintet (Hong Kong), Jerry Portnoy y Howard Levy from the (USA) y Willi Burger (Italia) se pudieron ver en este interesante encuentro. En el Festival, tanto entusiastas como profesionales de la harmónica disfrutaron de un amplio rango de estilos musicales. Ejemplo de esto es la gran actuación de Andreas Nebl y su trío y la Hong Kong Harmonica Orchestra que actuaron en la Iglesia Martin Luther. Sin lugar a dudas, la gran estrella del festival fue el concierto compuesto por Howard Levy para harmónica diatónica y orquesta. La primera vez que se interpretó esta pieza fue con la Hohner Accordion Orchestra, confirmando así el gran equipo que forman el acordeón y la harmónica. 6th World Harmonica Festival |
Certamen para Compositores de la NAO 2010, Blackpool-Reino Unidoby Steve Hughes |
 Acaba de anunciarse la próxima edición del Concurso de Compositores de la NAO que se celebrara el 25 de Abril del próximo año en Blackpool (Inglaterra). La fecha límite de inscripciones es el 14 de Marzo.El plazo de inscripción se abrirá el 28 de Febrero para las siguientes categorías: -Professional Solo -Amateur Solo -Junior Solo por debajo de 18 años (para aquellos que estudien niveles “A” o superiores) -Junior Solo por debajo de 16 años (para aquellos que estudien GCSE) -Junior Solo por debajo de 12 años -Duos/Ensembles Una grabación de la composición es requerida con la inscripción. El compositor deberá estar preparado tanto para interpretar su obra o arreglarla para que la interprete otra persona. Si no hay ejecutantes disponibles, la grabación será usada como última opción. Curso de Acordeón en la Universidad de Shezhen-Chinaby Harley Jones |
 El profesor Wang Lu-lu impartirá un curso profesional de acordeón en la Universidad de Shenzhen para el próximo 2010.Esta institución fue fundada en 1983. Actualmente cuenta con 30000 alumnos y más de 2000 profesores. El departamento de artes tiene 120 profesores llegados de diferentes países con una gran experiencia. Wang Lu-lu, joven acordeonista virtuoso, fue antiguo profesor en el departamento de Artes y Ciencias de la Universidad de Munich.  ‘Accordions International 2009’, held at Seacroft Holiday Village, Hemsby, Norfolk, was a great success, and a credit to organizer Heather Smith.The opening concert on Friday evening featured the main guests Gennaro Ruffolo, Gianni Mirizzi, Giancarlo Caporilli (Italy), and the Jack Emblow and Tony Compton duo, followed by a set of Scottish dancing led by former All Scotland Champion Wayne Robertson. The evening was notable for the presentation of an accordion cake and ‘This Is Your Life’ book to Harry Hussey, who recently celebrated his 80th birthday. Other artistes performing in concert during the festival included Harry Hussey, Peter Ayers, Bert Santilly, local accordion quintet Norvic Concordia (MD Peter Ayers), and Johnny-Lee Leslie. The festival workshops were ably led by Brian Jenkins, Adrienne Sharpe, Jean Hanger, Bert Santilly, and Wayne Robertson. The festival ended with a concert featuring the workshop groups, short performances by the guests, including a concert spot from Wayne Robertson plus a final set of Scottish dancing, and ‘Auld Lang Syne’. As usual, the guests and Heather Smith finished off with a rousing jam of ‘Bel Viso’. ‘Accordions International 2009’ continues a tradition of autumn accordion festivals in East Anglia founded by the late Malcolm Gee in 1986. Gran éxito del IV Festival Internacional de Acordeón de UNAC , Españaby Raquel Ruiz |
 El pasado sábado 14 de noviembre tuvo lugar el IV Festival Internacional de Acordeón de Andoain (Guipúzcoa) organizado por UNAC- Unión de Acordeonistas. El tema central de este año eran los niños, y para ellos y para el resto de aficionados al acordeón se preparó un denso programa con artistas internacionales. Como todos los años, UNAC prepara un disco recopilatorio que regala a todos sus socios y que este año se titula “For Children”. En él se incluyen varias grabaciones realizadas por jóvenes socios acordeonistas hasta 12 años. El Festival comenzó por la mañana con la presentación de este cd en la que se pudo escuchar en directo a algunos niños interpretando música de Verchuren, C.Ph.E. Bach, Garbatini, R Bui y música popular. El presidente de UNAC, Angel Luis Castaño, destacó en esta presentación la importancia de fomentar el acordeón entre los niños, que esta vez se desplazaron desde varias zonas de la geografía española para compartir este día con otros acordeonistas. El programa del Festival se completó por la tarde con una proyección de videos en torno al acordeón y una pasacalles a la entrada del auditorio Bastero de Andoain. A las 18,30 horas comenzó la gala-concierto principal tuvo como protagonistas al dúo Odeon Conexión, formado por los laureados Joao Frade (Portugal) y Guy Giulliano (Francia) que maravillaron al público asistente con sus interesantes arreglos de temas de música de jazz, varieté y world music.  Sergio Scappini had his car in an attended car park in Milan from which, his Bugari accordion instrument was stolen. This instrument does not have a serial number or a model number, because it was customized instrument.Full details of the instrument are listed on the Stolen Accordion website. Accordionists are asked to look out for this instrument and contact the Police or Sergio Scappini if they learn of anyone trying to sell this accordion. |

 An annual autumn concert, ‘Wiener Akkordeonclub Favoriten’, organised by Heinz Ebenstein, takes place on Friday November 27th, 7 pm, at the Theatersaal der Senioren Residenz am Kurpark, Wien-Oberlaa, 1100 Wien.In addition to the local accordion orchestra, performing music by Tchaikovsky, Strauss, Mozart, Offenbach, and ABBA, there will also be a guest appearance by harpist Franz Xaver Pöllabauer.  Jelena Milojevic is in concert on November 27th, 8pm, at the Kay Meek Theatre,1700 Mathers Ave, West Vancouver, BC, Canada,Jelena Milojevic studied at the conservatories in Pula, Croatia, and Kragujevac, Serbia. Her appearances include concerts at Christ Church Cathedral, Vancouver, Carnegie Hall, New York, the Arena, Pula, Croatia, and Kolarac Hall, Belgrade, Serbia. Her New York debut was the first classical accordion solo-recital in the last thirty years, in Carnegie Hall. She has also won numerous international accordion competitions. In 2007, Jelena moved to Canada, where she is promoting and establishing classical accordion as a performer as well as a teacher. Peter FitzGerald (banjo) and Andrew Thurston (guitar) will play a short set to open the concert. Paddy O’Brien, originally from County Offaly, Ireland, is one of the most highly regarded Irish American button accordionists. |
