 Video: Das Video beginnt bei 3:10 'Meet the Family' der Instrumente von A World of Accordions Museum von Kevin Friedrich, unterstützt von Jane Christison.Das Museum A World of Accordions feierte vom 6. bis 8. Mai 2022 seinen jährlichen Weltakkordeontag und das Dr. Willard Palmer Festival in Superior, Wisconsin. Mit Konzerten, Vorträgen, einem Festivalorchester, zwei Polka-Gottesdiensten und mehreren gesellschaftlichen Veranstaltungen wurde das Festival als großer Erfolg gefeiert und zog sowohl Live- als auch Online-Zuschauer an. Zu den Gästen gehörten der Bürgermeister von Superior, Jim Paine, die Präsidentin des Museums und Kuratorin Helmi Harrington, Ph. D., (Bild rechts) Dr. Mike Middleton (sowohl solo als auch mit den Middletones), CIA-Botschafter und Vizepräsident des Museums Kevin Friedrich, Dee Langley (sowohl solo als auch mit dem Masked Accordion Ensemble), Joanna Arnold Darrow, Jazzlynne Skye, John Scaffeo, Mary Kay und Katherine Archuletta, William Popp, Accordionina Concertina Music and Friends Accordion Band unter der Leitung von Tracey Gibbens, Hostfest Ensemble und Dr. Craig Funderberg. Den Besuchern des Weltakkordeontags und des Palmer Fests wurde eine Reihe von Aktivitäten geboten, die die Vielfalt des Akkordeons präsentierten, eine Einführung in die umfangreiche Schenkung der Sammlung von Alain Papineau sowie Führungen durch das Museum, in dem mehr als 1 400 Instrumente ausgestellt sind, die die Entwicklung des Akkordeons von 1829 bis heute nachzeichnen. Galakonzert zum Weltakkordeontag (WAD) 2022 - Philharmonie Skopjeby Anica Karakutovska |

 Bereits zum 14. Mal unterstützte der mazedonische Akkordeonistenverband (MAA) "Ljubiteli na klasichna muzika"- Skopje das internationale Projekt der CIA "6. Mai Weltakkordeontag (WAD)" mit verschiedenen spannenden musikalischen Veranstaltungen.Bild rechts: Bete Ilin, Zorica und Anica Karakutovska. Der Verein organisierte ein feierliches Konzert zur Feier des internationalen Ereignisses und zum Geburtstag des Instruments. Das WAD-Konzert fand am 7. Mai im Saal der Philharmonie in Skopje statt, in einer intimen Atmosphäre. Das neue Gebäude der Philharmonie bietet einen hochwertigen Veranstaltungsort, den die Künstler voll ausnutzten. Moderiert wurde die Veranstaltung von dem beliebten mazedonischen TV-Moderator Ognen Janeski. Das WAD-Galakonzert hat sich in den letzten Jahren zu einem wichtigen und prestigeträchtigen kulturellen und künstlerischen Ereignis im Land und auch im Ausland entwickelt, da das Konzert von einem nationalen Fernsehsender weltweit übertragen wird. In diesem Jahr wird das Konzert im Rahmen der Feierlichkeiten zum Nationalfeiertag am 24. Mai, dem Tag der Heiligen Kyrill und Method, im Fernsehen übertragen. Cyril und Methodius. Bei dem Konzert traten renommierte Künstler und Akkordeonschüler aus der Klasse von Prof. Zorica Karakutovska mit Werken von Viatcheslav Semionov, Vladimir Zubitsky, Bete Ilin, Piazzolla, Mozart usw. auf. Die berühmte mazedonische Pianistin Marija Gjoshevska begleitete den Akkordeonisten Filip Petreski bei der erstaunlichen Aufführung der Komposition Rossiniana von Vladimir Zubitsky. Filip, einer der besten jungen Akkordeonisten, gab am 16. Mai ein Konzert im Kammersaal der Philharmonie. Das Konzert wurde von der Philharmonie organisiert. Bei dem diesjährigen Konzert spielte der besondere Gast Mirco Patarini (Italien) die Uraufführung der Komposition "Dafino" des berühmten mazedonischen Komponisten Bete Ilin. Die Komposition wurde speziell für diese Veranstaltung komponiert und ist dem CIA-Präsidenten Mirco Patarini und der Unterstützung der WAD gewidmet. Der Saal war mit einem sehr begeisterten Publikum besetzt, das wirklich emotional reagierte und die Musiker mit wohlverdientem Applaus belohnte. Ihre Reaktion auf die Aufführung der Komposition "Dafino" war großartig und die Kommentare nach dem Konzert sehr positiv. Herr Präsident hat seine Arbeit sehr gut gemacht!  Veli Kujala (Finnland) ist der Akkordeonist in "Hamlet" der Metropolitan Opera, einer Adaption des klassischen Stücks von Brett Dean (Australien) und Matthew Jocelyn, die sowohl traditionell als auch innovativ, elegant und leidenschaftlich ist.Die ersten Kritiken sind bereits erschienen, und die New York Times schreibt über das Akkordeon: "So viele von Deans Ideen sind inspiriert, wie etwa das Hinzufügen des verlorenen ländlichen Klangs eines Akkordeonspielers (Veli Kujala) zur Szene, in der Hamlet eine reisende Schauspieltruppe zusammenruft, um den Mord an seinem Vater zu beschwören", und Opera Wire schreibt: "Es gibt experimentelle Passagen....wie etwa die gesamte Spielsequenz, in der ein Akkordeon die wichtigste und manchmal einzige musikalische Präsenz ist". Die gesamte Produktion findet im Metropolitan Opera House, Lincoln Center, Upper West Side von Manhattan, New York, statt. Weitere Live-Aufführungen finden am 21., 26. und 31. Mai sowie am 4. und 9. Juni 2022 statt. Die Aufführungen laufen bis zum 9. Juni, wobei die Aufführung am 4. Juni live in die Metropolitan HD-Kinos auf der ganzen Welt gestreamt wird. |

| Der 2. Baidi-Cup wird wieder online ausgetragen und von der Tianjin Baidi Culture and Art Co., Ltd. und dem Akkordeon-Fachausschuss der Tianjin Music Association organisiert. Ziel des Wettbewerbs ist es, die Akkordeonkultur zu fördern, das künstlerische Leben von Akkordeonliebhabern zu bereichern, den Austausch und die Interaktion im Bereich Akkordeon zwischen China und der Welt zu fördern und jungen Menschen die Möglichkeit zu geben, aufzutreten, indem Akkordeonisten eine Bühne geboten wird. Juni 2022 um 19 Uhr im Miller Outdoor Theatre in Houston, Texas, USA statt und wird von Texas Folklife organisiert. Bei der Veranstaltung, die live übertragen wird, treten "Las Fenix", "RJ & Kreole Smoove", "Cameron Dupuy & the Cajun Troubadours" sowie die Big Squeeze Champions 2022 auf - die Gewinner des Jugendakkordeonwettbewerbs Big Squeeze 2022 von Texas Folklife in den Genrekategorien Polka, Cajun, Zydeco und Conjunto (siehe Bild unten).  Composers from around the world are invited to take part in a new competition entitled “Wolfgang Jacobi Composition Prize”, which has been organised by the Deutscher Harmonika Verband (DHV) in cooperation with the Deutscher Akkordeonlehrer-Verband (DALV).The aim of the competition is to encourage composers of accordion works, to deal with Jacobi's compositional technique and to take up a theme or fragment of Jacobi's composition. The competition prize is supported by the descendants of Wolfgang Jacobi, Hohner Musikinstrumente GmbH and Jetelina.de. The jury will consist of composers and accordion professionals and is chaired by composer Prof. Moritz Eggert (picture right), from the Hochschule für Musik and Theater München. Registration deadline is October 1st, 2022.  The National Accordion Competition Dobrany, organized by the Dobrany Accordion School in cooperation with the J. S. Bach Elementary Art School will be held at the J. S. Bach Dobrany Art School in Dobrany, Czech Republic from June 10th to 12th, 2022.The competition for accordionists from the Czech Republic will include categories for soloists and chamber ensembles such as Junior Classic, Senior Classic, Masters, Junior Chamber Music, Senior Chamber Music, World Music, Junior Variety and Senior Variety. Each competitor will receive a diploma with special prizes as follows: • Selected laureates will be offered a performance at the Bechovická Harmonika Festival • Contestants with the highest points will be selected to represent the Czech Republic at the Trophée Mondiale 2022 World Accordion Competition • Selected accordionists will be invited to perform at the opening concert of the 2023 National Accordion Competition Dobrany • Special prize for the youngest participant of the competition For details email: vacepe@seznam.cz |

 The 2022 Che Bandoneon International Competition will be held in Stowe, Vermont, USA from August 14th to 21st, 2022 as a part of the 2022 Stowe Tango Music Festival. Che Bandoneon competition finalists are: Leonel Gasso (Uruguay) Alex Roitman (USA) Sinai Rim (South Korea) Heyni Solera (USA) The Competition is open to bandoneon players of all nationalities who must be at least 18 years of age by August 1st, 2022. Events timeline: • August 8th: Tango Academy and Bandoneon Workshop (All finalists will receive full Scholarship to the workshop) • August 14th: Finalists join 2022 Stowe Tango Music Festival • August 21st: Finals and Award Ceremony. Duo Aliada begeistert mit J.S. Bachs „Goldberg-Variationen“ - Austriaby Dr Herbert Scheibenreif Manager of Friedrich Lips Productions |
 Zwei vernachlässigte klassische Instrumente wie das Akkordeon und das Saxophon in einer Duobesetzung gegenüberzustellen und dabei die „nahezu unendlichen Möglichkeiten bezüglich Klangfarben und dynamischer Bandbreite“ zu nutzen, ist Anliegen des Duo Aliada. Bogdan Laketic (Serbien) und Michał Knot (Polen) erspielten sich 2013 den 1. Preis beim Fidelio-Wettbewerb in Wien, sozusagen der Startschuss ihrer internationalen Karriere mit internationalen Festival-Auftritten und CD-Einspielungen. Die „Goldberg-Variationen“ zählen zu J.S. Bach‘s bedeutendsten groß dimensionierten Werken für ein Tasteninstrument. Das Thema, das in kunstvoller Weise 30 Abwandlungen erfährt, stellt eine „Aria“ im Dreiertakt der Sarabande dar, die schon im Notenbuch der Anna Magdalena Bach aus dem Jahre 1725 aufscheint. In der Bearbeitung für Akkordeon und Saxophon setzt das Duo Aliada im Bewusstsein von Bachs Affinität zum Arrangieren seiner eigenen Werke diese Tradition fort und wirft gleichzeitig ein neues Licht auf dieses Meisterwerk, indem es die „Goldberg-Variationen“ mit einer Dimension an Klangfarben und Ausdruckskraft präsentiert, wie sie nur mit Saxophon und Akkordeon zu erzielen ist.   This week Gorka Hermosa premiered his latest two compositions in Barcelona, Spain - "Children Suite No 3" and a "curious score" entitled "4 bars".Gorka was challenged by the photographer Blas González to write a four-bar composition on a photo that he sent. His project was to send this same challenge to different well-known composers and publish a book for the benefit of “Musicians Without Borders” with each score and photo. In the project there were composers such as well known and internationally renowned as Evelyn Glennie (UK), Octavio Vazquez (USA), Fernando Buide, Gabriel Erkoreka, Teresa Catalán, Jesus Torres, Rosa Torres-Pardo, David del Puerto, Alfredo Aracil, Jean -Denis Michat (France), Ulrike Haage (Germany) and Left Segerstam (Finland).. In addition Gorka held a successful masterclass at the Conservatory in Barcelona on May 16th. |

 Marcus Rompf, an accordion craftsman was just 55 years old when he passed away from a long term illness last week in Castelfidardo, Italy.Marcus arrived in Italy many years ago (from Germany) and worked as a specialized accordion technician in Castelfidardo before starting up his own business manufacturing machined parts for accordions factories. He leaves behind his fiancée (as he was due to be married this year) and six children. His funeral was held on May 16th, 2022 in the Sant'Agostino Church in Castelfidardo. |

| The Handharmonika-Club 1932 Ditzingen e.V. will hold a concert to celebrate their 90th Anniversary at the Church of Constance in Ditzingen, Germany on May 22nd, 2022 at 4pm. This concert will include a performance by the 1st Orchestra conducted by Vitali Neifert and the Quintet led by Martin Spieß. | Davide Vendramin (bandoneon) will perform in a concert entitled “Tango Forever” at the National Palace of Culture in Sofia, Bulgaria on May 28th, 2022 at 7pm. He will be joined by Ina Kancheva (soprano), Bulent Bezduz (tenor), Sesim Bezdyuz (violin), Kalina Hristova (violin), Kristiana Alipieva (cello) and Doach Bezdyuz (piano). The festival is held under the patronage of the President of Republic of Bulgaria Mr. Rumen Radev and is part of the Calendar of Cultural Events of Sofia Municipality for 2022. Their program will include works by Piazzolla, Gardel, Ramirez and others. |

  The Australian Accordion Teachers Association Inc. (AATA) has announced their 2022 Australian International Accordion Video project entitled “Bringing the World Together Through the Accordion”.President of the AATA, Tatjana Marx (picture above) says the video project will give accordionists of all ages, all levels and all nations the opportunity to submit a video to be compiled together as a showcase of how when we work together, all differences can be put aside! This event is open to accordionist soloists, duets, trios and ensembles as well as groups that feature the accordion. The final edited video of performances will be released online in early June 2022. The Australian Accordion Teachers Association has decided to postpone their annual international competition for 2022, and instead create a platform for accordionists from all over the world to come together in celebration of our favourite instrument. Entries close on May 30th, 2022 and videos must be submitted by June 3rd, 2022. For further details visit the AATA website. |
