La atmósfera fue agradable y llena de música maravillosa de nuestros participantes, que estaban compitiendo en la edición número 66 de la competiciones nacionales del Reino Unido NAO! Entre los éxitos destacables de la competición se incluyen: - Simmone Sciammarella (Italia) 1r premio en la categoría internacional de Solo; - Alexander Bodell, ganador de 4 premios: 1r premio en recital solo, en 15 y menores, en 15 y menores Musette y en 14 y menores Polka; - Thom Hardaker (Senior) Categoría Nacional Roland V; - Nancy Langton (Junior) Categoría Nacional Roland V; así como destacables actuaciones de orquesta de la Orquesta de Acordeones Graham Laurie Paisley (MD Graham Laurie). Durante la Asamblea General Annual de la NAO – Elaine Beecham fue designada Vice Presidenta Honoraria en reconocimiento a todos los años de servicio a la NAO y Anna Bodell (fotografía derecha) fue designada Presidenta de la NAO para el 2011/12. Durante el festival, Mavis Parnell fue honrada con el Premio Asociación NAO por su servicio a la expansión del acordeón durante 60 años! Los campeonatos NAO de Reino Unido 2012 se celebrarán en una nueva sede: el Hotel Adelphi, en Liverpool del 27 al 29 de Abril del 2012.  La competición “MusicTech Festival” empezará el 15 de setiembre de 2011. Se trata de un festival/competición de voto público que se desarrolla en internet. Para ser elegibles, los competidores deben tocar un acordeón digital MusicTech o un acordeón con MusicTech Midi.El director de MusicTech, Claudio Sabbatini (fotografía derecha) anima a los acordeonistas a registrarse y participar. No hay jurado. En su lugar, los visitantes online votan, pudiendo otorgar cada persona 1 voto por categoría. Se puede votar del 16 de setiembre al 15 de octubre de 2011. Hay tres categorías: - Clásica (música de concierto) - Jazz/Pop - Tradicional (cualquier pieza tradicional de acordeón, de cualquier tipo, publicada o no). La normativa se encuentra en www.musictechfestival.com - El registro finaliza el 31 de julio del 2011 y los videos deben estar disponibles el 15 de setiembre. - La música se debe tocar en vivo. - La música de apoyo o acompañamiento está permitida, pero no están permitidas las pistas pregrabadas de acompañamiento. - Tiempo límite 5 minutos. - Cada participante debe enviar un video que contenga una sola pieza. Las actividades promocionales del día mundial del acordeón (World Accordion Day) de la asociación de acordeonistas de Macedonia ‘Ljubiteli na klasicnata muzika’ dieron lugar a la aparición en directo en la televisión nacional del presidente, professor Zorica Karakutovska, así como en la Skopje TV y en la radio. Fotografías e información en: 2011 Macedonia Además, la asociación de acordeonistas de Macedonia publicó un artículo con información sobre el 3r día mundial del acordeón, que coincidía con el 182 aniversario del acordeón, que se publicó en todos los periódicos principales de Macedonia. El 6 de mayo, se celebró un concierto para el día mundial del acordeón, que tuvo mucho éxito, que se recordará durante mucho tiempo, y que fué muy bien recibido por la abundante audiencia. La culminación del concierto fue la actuación de un trío de acordeón formaco por el Prof. Zorica Karakutovska y dos estudiantes, los ganadores del GRAN PREMIO en la edición número 49 de la competición nacional de música de cámara, Bojan Volcevski y Filip Stamevski (dúo Fi-Bo).   .Para honrar la llegada del famoso “Giro d’Italia” a Castelfidardo (la tierra del acordeón), Victoria Accordions ha lanzado un acordeón "Victoria en Rosa". El líder de esta competición, lleva una "maglia rosa" (camiseta rosa). Este acordeón es completamente funcional en todos sus detalles y sirve de promoción del acordeón, de la ciudad de Castelfidardo City y honra a este gran evento deportivo que por primera vez llega a Castelfidardo. En el fuelle se leen las palabras: Giro d'Italia. El acordeón está actualmente expuesto en la calle principal de Castelfidardo, con 2 partituras originales para acordeón casi imposibles de conseguir "Coppi in Fuga" y " Bartali in Salita". Coppi y Bartali son dos de los ciclistas más famosos de Italia y fueron dos grandes deportistas que fueron amigos y competidores al mismo tiempo. |

 The annual event ‘Days of Macedonian Music 2011’, organized by the Association of Composers of Macedonia – SOCOM, under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Macedonia and the Ministry of Culture, was held from March 21st to 30th in Skopje.At the Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra concert on March 24th, for the first time in the 66 years that the orchestra has existed, they performed a composition with an accordion soloist. The conductor was Sasha Nikolovski–Gjumar (picture above, Ilievska-Bete and performers bow). The composition titled ‘Capriccio’ by Elizabeta Ilievska-Bete, received excellent critical acclaim. The accordion solo was performed by Bojan Volcevski, a student of Prof. Zorica Karakutovska at the Faculty of Music Skopje. On March 29th, the chamber music concert presented another new work by Elizabeta Ilievska-Bete titled ‘Sigh’ (For my guardian angel) which was performed by the eminent musicians and pedagogues Anna Kontradenko (violin), Oleg Kontradenko (violin), Frosina Balova (viola), Aleksandar Kotevski (violoncello) and Zorica Karakutovska (accordion) (picture below). This new work was also very well received by the large audience and the music critics said it was “an excellent new work”.  To celebrate World Accordion Day and the arrival of China accordion year, the SichuanMusicians Association and Sichuan Accordion Association on May 1, 2011, celebrated these events and also made a promotion for the 2011 Coupe Mondiale being hosted by the China Accordion Association in Shanghai. As well, the Sichuan event was promoting the Fourth Sichuan Accordion Competition and Art Festival,at the Sichuan Conservatory of Music. The main organizer is Prof. Chen Jun, Accordion Department head at Sichuan Conservatory of Music and Chinese Accordion Association Vice President. A total of 500 accordion players and fans attended the Sichuan World Accordion Day celebration including some, who will be competitors in the 2011 Coupe Mondiale, Castelfidardo International Accordion Competition winners, with the youngest player participating, being only only 4 years old, with the oldest being a 76 year old player. |

 Accordionist Salvatore Cauteruccio performed on May 7th in a concert in Monaco of Bavaria (Germany).This event was held at the inauguration of the Akkordeon Centrum Brusch, organized in collaboration with the prestigious accordion manufacturer Ballone Burini Castelfidardo. | On April 23 Corrado Rojac, accordion professor at the Tartini Conservatory in Trieste performed at Harvard University in Boston. At the concert, there were premieres of music written for accordion composed by Harvard composition students. Among them, Trevor Baa, Edgar Barroso and Gabriele Vanoni. The concert held in the beautiful John Knowles Paine Concert Hall was a great success. The professor of composition at Harvard University Chaya Chernowyn, personally congratulated Corrado Rojac. |

 The 4th Strumenti & Musica Festival, Spoleto features competitions and a festival. The competitions includes 7 categories. Up to 12 years, up to 15 years, Classical and Variety categories up to 18 years and up to 32 years plus an ensemble category.Regulations online: 2011 Spoleto Entry closing date is 15 July 2011.  On Saturday 28th May, the accordion students of the Royal Academy of Music will be playing at 7.30pm at Our Lady and St Thomas of Canterbury Church, 22 Roxborough Park, Harrow on the Hill, Middx, HA1 3BE (Tel. 020 8422 2513). For some students, like Ksenija Sidorova (picture right), graduation looms and we find that suddenly they are already in their final year at the RAM. The concert will feature some beautiful music brought to life in the wonderful acoustics of a church whose size is perfect for an accordion recital. |
