| Question: Que font 75 accordéonistes un dimanche pluvieux en Grande Bretagne? Réponse : Ils se rassemblent à la salle des fêtes de Ripley, Grande Bretagne pour participer au Super Orchestra Day organisé par Julie North avec le chef d’orchestre, Ian Watson. Après une première répétition de deux heures en matinée, consacrée à passer en revue les 3 morceaux sélectionnés pour la journée, suivit un déjeuner bien mérité. La répétition de l’après midi vit l’ajout d’une section percussion. L’orchestre eut le plaisir d’inaugurer deux morceaux composés par Ian Watson spécifiquement pour l‘évènement. «Chanson sans paroles » en l’honneur du groupe Watford accordéon et « Un tango » en l’honneur l’orchestre Tillingbourne Accordéon. Aussi inclus au programme, « One » de Chorus Line. Pour la deuxième fois consécutive le Super Orchestra Day vit la participation d’un orchestre de jeunes, composé de 5 musiciens - le plus jeune ayant 5 ans et étant complètement novice à l’accordéon. Ils ont joué deux morceaux pour le concert en soirée, « Chopsticks » et « Crooked Crochets» A 17h30, le programme débuta avec le groupe Watford Accordéon sous la direction de Shoma Holmes. Ils interprétèrent « Trois Roses » de Gotz et « Fantaisie du monde libre » de Jacob de Hann. Puis l’orchestre Tillingbourne joua « Finlandia » sous la direction de Marion Szuman. Le jeune orchestra interpréta ses pieces et fut suivi par l’orchestre élémentaire d’accordéon de Londres qui joua “Walking’s Ale”, “1er movement de la petite symphonie celtique” et “Ultimo tango” sous la direction de Julie North. Le concert se conclue avec le Mass Orchestra et des œuvres chaudement appréciées le public. Une charmante journée de musique, divertissement et amitié à l’abri de la pluie. Le prochain Super Orchestra Day 2019 se tiendra le 27 octobre 2019 donc, prenez date! Un jour à ne pas manquer.. |

Les 80 ans de Raul Barboza à Paris – Franceby Rob Howard |
 L’accordéoniste Raul Barboza, né en 1938 à Buenos Aires, va fêter son 80ième anniversaire ce jeudi 25 octobre à 20h, au Pan Piper, 2-4 Impasse Lamier, 75011 Paris. De nombreux accordéonistes joueront en son honneur, comme indiqué sur l’affiche ci jointe.Raul Barboza est un des joueurs de chamané le plus notoire. Le chamané est un style folklorique d’origine argentine. Barboza a joué cette musique à travers le monde et en 1987 s’est installé à Paris, où il réside désormais. Il a enregistré 30 albums, est apparu dans 9 films et a reçu de nombreuses récompenses pour sa musique en France et en Argentine. |

 L’accordéoniste serbe Milos Milivojevic, basé à Londres, a enregistré un album classique en solo chez le label Nimbus. La sortie de ce CD« Accord for life » est prévu pour le 2 novembre.London-based Serbian accordionist Milos Milivojevic has recorded a solo classical CD for the Nimbus label, ‘Accord for life’, set for release on November 2nd. Pistes: Scarlatti – ‘Sonate in ré mineur, K. 1’; Scarlatti – ‘Sonate in Fa Majeur, K. 44’; Scarlatti - ‘Sonate en fa dièse mineur, K. 25’; Mendelssohn – ‘Sonate pour orgue en ré mneur, Op. 65, No. 6: I. Chorale et Variations’; JS Bach – ‘Prélude chorale BWV639 'Ich ruf' zu dir, Herr Jesu Christ'’; Viktor Vlasov – ‘Five Views on Gulay State’; Franck Angelis - ‘Interieur’; Viatcheslav Semionov – ‘Don Rhapsodie, No. 2: II, second movement’; Sarasate – ‘Introduction et Tarantelle, Op. 43’. Après avoir achevé ses études à l’école de musique de Kraquievac en Serbie avec Vojin Vasovic, Miloš Milivojevic déménage à Londres en 2002 pour étudier à l’Académie Royale de musique avec Owen Murray. Il y décroche un diplôme d’études supérieures en juillet 2009 et obtient la récompense Dip Ram. En juillet 2007, c’est le premier accordéoniste à jamais remporter ce prix du Club RAM à l’académie royale de musique. Il est aussi premier prix dans de nombreuses compétitions internationales en Allemagne, France, Italie et Danemark. En parallèle de sa carrière de soliste, il fait de la musique de chambre et est membre de l’ensemble Kosmos, du London tango quintet et de AccordDUO.  News site Breitbart reported: A new lawsuit filing alleges that Facebook purposefully inflated the time spent watching videos on its platform by 150 percent to 900 percent to mislead advertisers and inflate advertising rates.Jason Kint, chief executive of Digital Content Next, a trade organization that represents online publishers, commented on the latest lawsuit brought against Facebook: “Facebook needs to lead with consumer transparency to get past this. | Recording from Michael Bridge's 2018 solo album, "Overture" available online. Michael Bridge writes: All sounds are performed live on Digital Accordion, without background music. This piece uses the digital accordion's ability to produce sounds that are sensitive to both swell (bellows) and finger velocity (percussion). Thus, a single performer can control a huge number of instrument sounds by assigning each one to a different section of the instrument. All percussion sounds are played with the left hand, and three chin switches facilitate turning various sounds on and off. Over 50 customized sound settings are used throughout this work. |

 On Saturday October 20th, 7.30pm, the Craven Accordion Orchestra (MD Harry Hinchcliffe) performs in concert at the Rendezvous Hotel, Skipton, West Yorkshire BD23 2TA. Founded in 1995 by accordion teacher Harry Hinchcliffe, the Craven Accordion Orchestra has competed often in NAO regional and national competitions, performs frequently in concerts, has recorded two CDs and performed on local radio. Performing with Craven Accordion Orchestra is the well known London Accordion Orchestra (LAO) conducted by Ian Watson who have travelled extensively on the continent and also in the UK.  Irish 2-row diatonic button accordionist Sharon Shannon this weekend begins a concert tour of Germany, finishing with a date in Bern, Switzerland.Sharon Shannon, from County Clare in Ireland, also plays the fiddle, tin whistle and melodeon. Her self-titled debut album, in 1991, ‘Sharon Shannon’ was the best-selling album of traditional Irish music ever released in Ireland. She has a particular appeal for younger audiences and has toured sell-out concerts in the USA, Australia, Europe, Hong Kong, and Japan. Beginning with Irish folk music, her work demonstrates a wide-ranging number of musical influences such as reggae, Cajun, French Canadian and Portuguese music. She won the lifetime achievement award at the 2009 Meteor Awards. | On Sunday October 21st, 5pm, the popular Belgian accordionist Erika, known as ‘The Princess of the Accordion’ and her keyboard accompanist Jean-Marie Hembersin, play for dancing in Renwez, northern France. On Sunday October 28th, 3pm, accordionists Erika and Andre Loppe play for dancing at Au Relais Des Amis, 17b Rue Riverre, Floreffe, Belgium. Erika Honorez is from Tilly, a village close to Villers La Ville in Belgium. She comes from a musical family, and received her first accordion at the age of 5 years. Erika's teacher was Mr Franz Lebrun from the Brussels Conservatory, and she studied the theory of music and classical music, and then specialized in the musette genre. Since 1981 Erika has been performing, composing, and recording. She has appeared on radio and TV in Belgium and France. Erika has recorded many CDs and DVDs, which are available through her website.
