Día de la Súper Orquesta, Ripley - Reino Unidoby Alison Worthington |

| Pregunta: ¿Qué hacen 75 jugadores de acordeón en un lluvioso en el Reino Unido? Respuesta: Reunirse en el ayuntamiento de Ripley, Reino Unido, para participar en el Día de la Súper Orquesta de 2018 organizado por Julie North y dirigido por lan Watson. El primer ensayo de 2 horas comenzó a las 11AM para trabajar en las 3 piezas que se seleccionaron para el día, antes de disfrutar un almuerzo. El ensayo de la tarde agregó la percusión. La orquesta tuvo la oportunidad de tocar y estrenar dos piezas que fueron compuestas por Ian Watson especialmente para el día. "Canción sin palabras" dedicada a la Banda de Acordeón de Watford y "One Tango" dedicada a la Orquesta de Acordeón de Tillingbourne. También incluida en el programa 'One' de The Chorus Line. Por segunda vez en este evento, había una orquesta juvenil de 5 intérpretes. La artista más joven tenía 5 años y ésta fue su primera vez tocando un acordeón. Tocaron dos piezas en el concierto de la noche, Chopsticks and Crooked Crochets. A las 5.30, el concierto comenzó con Watford Accordion Band, dirigida por Shona Holmes, quien interpretó Three Roses de Gotz y Free World Fantasy de Jacob de Haan. La orquesta de Tillingbourne interpretó entonces Finlandia, dirigida por Marion Szuman. La orquesta juvenil tocó sus piezas y luego llegó la Orquesta de Acordeón Intermedio de Londres interpretando la Ale de Watkins, el Movimiento 1 de la pequeña Sinfonía Celta y el Último Tango, dirigido por Julie North. El final del concierto fue la Orquesta de Misa y las piezas fueron bien recibidas por el público. Un hermoso día interior de música, diversión y amigos mientras la lluvia seguía cayendo.  El acordeonista Raúl Barboza, nacido en 1938 en Buenos Aires, Argentina, cumple 80 años el jueves 25 de octubre, a las 8PM, en Pan Piper, 2-4 Impasse Lamier, 75011 París. La velada presenta spots de numerosos acordeonistas y otros músicos, como se indica en el póster. Raúl Barboza es uno de los exponentes del chamamé más admirado del mundo, un estilo popular originario de Argentina. Él ha interpretado este estilo de música en todo el mundo, y en 1987 se mudó a París, donde reside hasta el día de hoy. Sus logros incluyen grabar 30 álbumes, aparecer en 9 películas y recibir varios premios por su música tanto en Francia como en Argentina. |

 El acordeonista serbio Milos Milivojevic, con sede en Londres, grabó un CD clásico como solista para el sello Nimbus, 'Accord for life', que se lanzará el 2 de noviembre. Pistas: Scarlatti - ‘Sonata in D Minor, K. 1’; Scarlatti - 'Sonata en Fa mayor, K. 44'; Scarlatti - ‘Sonata F Sharp Minor, K. 25’; Mendelssohn - "Sonata de órgano en Re menor, op. 65, No. 6: I. Coral y variaciones ’; JS Bach - ‘Chorale Prelude BWV639 'Ich ruf' zu dir, Herr Jesu Christ ''; Viktor Vlasov - "Cinco puntos de vista sobre el estado de Gulay"; Franck Angelis - 'Interieur'; Viatcheslav Semionov - 'Don Rhapsodie, No. 2: II, segundo movimiento'; Sarasate - ‘Introducción y Tarantella, op. 43 ’. Después de completar sus estudios en la Escuela de Música Kragujevac, Serbia, con Vojin Vasovic, en 2002, Miloš Milivojevic se mudó a Londres para estudiar en la Royal Academy of Music con Owen Murray, donde obtuvo el Diploma de Postgrado en julio de 2009 y fue galardonado con Dip RAM.  News site Breitbart reported: A new lawsuit filing alleges that Facebook purposefully inflated the time spent watching videos on its platform by 150 percent to 900 percent to mislead advertisers and inflate advertising rates.Jason Kint, chief executive of Digital Content Next, a trade organization that represents online publishers, commented on the latest lawsuit brought against Facebook: “Facebook needs to lead with consumer transparency to get past this. | Recording from Michael Bridge's 2018 solo album, "Overture" available online. Michael Bridge writes: All sounds are performed live on Digital Accordion, without background music. This piece uses the digital accordion's ability to produce sounds that are sensitive to both swell (bellows) and finger velocity (percussion). Thus, a single performer can control a huge number of instrument sounds by assigning each one to a different section of the instrument. All percussion sounds are played with the left hand, and three chin switches facilitate turning various sounds on and off. Over 50 customized sound settings are used throughout this work. |

 On Saturday October 20th, 7.30pm, the Craven Accordion Orchestra (MD Harry Hinchcliffe) performs in concert at the Rendezvous Hotel, Skipton, West Yorkshire BD23 2TA. Founded in 1995 by accordion teacher Harry Hinchcliffe, the Craven Accordion Orchestra has competed often in NAO regional and national competitions, performs frequently in concerts, has recorded two CDs and performed on local radio. Performing with Craven Accordion Orchestra is the well known London Accordion Orchestra (LAO) conducted by Ian Watson who have travelled extensively on the continent and also in the UK.  Irish 2-row diatonic button accordionist Sharon Shannon this weekend begins a concert tour of Germany, finishing with a date in Bern, Switzerland.Sharon Shannon, from County Clare in Ireland, also plays the fiddle, tin whistle and melodeon. Her self-titled debut album, in 1991, ‘Sharon Shannon’ was the best-selling album of traditional Irish music ever released in Ireland. She has a particular appeal for younger audiences and has toured sell-out concerts in the USA, Australia, Europe, Hong Kong, and Japan. Beginning with Irish folk music, her work demonstrates a wide-ranging number of musical influences such as reggae, Cajun, French Canadian and Portuguese music. She won the lifetime achievement award at the 2009 Meteor Awards. | On Sunday October 21st, 5pm, the popular Belgian accordionist Erika, known as ‘The Princess of the Accordion’ and her keyboard accompanist Jean-Marie Hembersin, play for dancing in Renwez, northern France. On Sunday October 28th, 3pm, accordionists Erika and Andre Loppe play for dancing at Au Relais Des Amis, 17b Rue Riverre, Floreffe, Belgium. Erika Honorez is from Tilly, a village close to Villers La Ville in Belgium. She comes from a musical family, and received her first accordion at the age of 5 years. Erika's teacher was Mr Franz Lebrun from the Brussels Conservatory, and she studied the theory of music and classical music, and then specialized in the musette genre. Since 1981 Erika has been performing, composing, and recording. She has appeared on radio and TV in Belgium and France. Erika has recorded many CDs and DVDs, which are available through her website.
