  idéo : La cérémonie du Prix Orpheus en italien avec sous-titres en anglais. La XI ième édition du Prix Orpheus 2021 s’est déroulée cette année en ligne, à Roseto degli Abruzzi, en Italie, le 14 mars. C’est le prix de la critique pour les productions à l’accordéon (ou cousins de l’accordéon : harmonica, accordina etc …)dédié aux artistes italiens, et organisé par l’Associazione Promozione Arte, dont le directeur artistique est Gerlando Gatto (photo ci-dessus à droite), le président Renzo Ruggieri (photo ci-dessus à gauche) et le secrétaire Giuseppe Di Falco. Les vainqueurs du Prix Orpheus 2021 sont : - Meilleure production italienne pour l’accordéon musique classique. Pietro Roffi: "1999" INRI classic - Meilleure production italienne pour l’accordéon jazz. Vince Abbracciante: "Terranima" Dodicilune et Simone Zanchini: "Jouer la musique de Nino Rota" IN+OUT Records - Meilleure production italienne pour l’accordéon musique du monde.   L’académie Sibelius de l’Université des Arts d’Helsinki s’est classée en 9ième position dans le classement mondial des meilleures universités des arts de la scène. C’est la 6ième fois que le classement QS des universités mondiales liste les meilleures universités qui proposent des programmes dans les arts de la scène. La classe d’accordéon à l’académie Sibelius a été fondée en 1977 par Matti Rantanen, qui a ensuite passé le relai à Veli Kujala (photo ci-dessus à gauche), en octobre 2020. Les collègues de Kujala sont Helka Kymäläinen (pédagogie à l’accordéon), Mika Väyrynen (instrument, musique de chambre, accordage, prima vista), Matti Rantanen (instrument), Heidi Velamo (instrument pour l’académie junior) et Niko Kumpuvaara (improvisation et accompagnement). Durant ses 40 ans d’existence, la classe d’accordéon de l’Académie a formé de nombreux artistes de qualité, lauréats aux compétitions internationales, pédagogues reconnus, dépositaires de master de musique, et docteurs (six) en accordéon. |

| La XIième compétition russe "Ville Verte Printemps" se tiendra du 10 avril au 20 mai 2021. Cet évènement annuel est financé par le bureau de l’état pour la promotion des vocations et de l’excellence de la ville de Moscou, le centre professionnel d’excellence de Moscou pour le bayan et l’accordéon, l’institut d’art national Dmitri Hvorostovsky et le collège d’art du gouverneur de Moscou. Les compétiteurs seront évalués par un jury incluant Naiko Sergey Fedorovich (président), Artyom Evgenyevich (directeur du centre pour l’excellence professionnelle en bayan et accordéon) et Maxim Fedorov (conférencier au collège d’art du gouverneur de Moscou). Les inscriptions seront ouvertes à partir du 10 avril et clôtureront le 28 avril 2021. Les participants enverront leurs prestations en vidéo. | La retraite 2022 de l’orchestre d’accordéon de Houston aura lieu à l’hôtel Kemah Boardwalk Inn de Kemah au Texas, USA, du 13 au 16 janvier 2022. Le thème pour 2022 sera très intéressant : “un collage de musique européenne” avec de la musique de Russie, France, Italie, Moldavie, Finlande et Azerbaidjan en plus de la première mondiale d’une ouverture orchestrale de Stas Venglevski. La retraite de 4 jours organisée en 2021 par Stas Venglevski et l’orchestre d’accordéon de Houston fut sur le thème de la fièvre tango. Il y’avait à l’origine 40 inscrits, mais du fait de la crise liée au covid, l’orchestre ne compta finalement que 14 membres, plus leurs conjoints et invités. Le concert de compositions de musique originale fait, à cette occasion, fut un grand succès. |

 Les inscriptions sont maintenant ouvertes pour la compétition internationale de musique “Les Etoiles Sancyberie” qui se déroulera du 26 avril au 2 mai 2021, à Riom, en Auvergne, France. Le président de l’association est l’accordéoniste Roman Jbanov.L’association "Sancyberie" s’est formée en avril 2009 avec pour but de faire connaître la culture russe sous toutes ses formes à la très belle region d’Auvergne et d’exporter la culture française en Russie. La compétition propose des cours pour solistes, ensembles et orchestres, aux joueurs d’accordéon, de balalaika, domra et autres instruments folkloriques du monde entier. Les membres du jury incluront Konstantin Ischenko, Trofim Antipov, Sergey Teleshev, Tatyana Saratova, Renzo Ruggieri, Sergey Voytenko, Galymzhan Narymbetov, Anibal Freire, Raynald Ouellet, Roman Kozlovsky, Roberto Lucanero, Tous les lauréats et leurs professeurs recevront une invitation pour participer à une compétition en présentiel en France en 2022. Il y’aura des prestations musicales de membres du jury, un concert avec les finalistes, des vidéo conférences et des master classes. | Video: Concert to celebrate the birthdays of Astor Piazzolla and Aydar Gaynullin (bayan) with a performance of Happy Birthday and "Libertango" with Artyom Dervoed (guitar), Sergey Shamov (percussion). Vladislav Lavrik (conductor & trumpet) performed with the Russian National Orchestra at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall. Aydar Gaynullin says "Astor Piazzolla is 100 years old today! The man who elevated the tango genre to the highest level, giving the world incredibly emotional and passionate music! Unfortunately, our 2021 concert today at the Berlin Philharmonic was cancelled due to the pandemic, but this video from January 2020 is especially important to me, because to celebrate my birthday together with the anniversary of the Great Astor - it's worth a lot!" |

 Organisers of the Vancouver Folk Music Festival regret to advise that after “countless hours of deliberation, they have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Folk Music Festival”, which was due to run from July 16th to 18th, 2021.Due to the “uncertainty of current conditions, immunization timelines, and what may be possible as vaccines continue to rollout to the public at large, the safety of the community, staff, contractors, artists, volunteers, vendors, sponsors, suppliers, patrons and festival supporters continues to be of utmost importance.” Refunds will be available for 2020 ticket holders. Organisers also wish to give people the opportunity to donate the cost of their ticket and all ticket holders will be contacted via email as soon as possible. |

| Popular entertainer Brandon Mcphee held an online concert entitled “St Patrick’s Day Concert – A Tribute to Ireland” on March 17th, 2021, with guest Manson Grant. Manson is a Country Music Veteran from "Manson Grant and the Dynamos" fame. Ticket information above.  Video: "Apricot" by Uri Sharlin with the Avi Avital TrioUri Sharlin (picture right) performed a concert at the Teo Centre for Art and Culture in Herzliya Pituah, Israel on March 15th, 2021. The live concert featured the “Piaf” show, French singer-songwriter, cabaret performer and film actress Edith Piaf. On March 28th at 2pm (NYC time), Uri will give an online “Forro” workshop for the Brooklyn Accordion Club in USA. Uri is an Israeli-born composer, accordionist and pianist, who has collaborated with prominent musicians including Natalie Merchant, Suzan Vega, Antony and the Johnsons, Avi Avital, and Frank London. "He feels at home across genres, and his two albums to date fuse his jazz and classical background with Balkan rhythms, Arabic modes and Brazilian harmonies." | One of Ireland's accomplished musicians, Sharon Shannon, will perform a special global online concert from the National Concert Hall Dublin on March 20th, 2021. This event will celebrate music and song on St Patrick's weekend and joins a series of online performances in a partnership with the National Concert Hall and Serious. Sharon will perform music from her new album “The Reckoning”, as well as many old favourites. She will be joined by Irish-Zimbabwean singer Lucia Evans, fellow former Waterboy Trevor Hutchinson (double bass), Niall Murphy (violin), Alan Connor (piano and guitar), Steve Hogan (drums), Luke Dunford (organ), Jack Maher (guitar and vocals) and Jim Murray (guitar). | The Orquesta Sinfónica de Acordeones de Bilbao (directed by Amagoia Lorono) will hold their annual meeting at their headquarters in Hurtado de Amézaga on March 27th at 1.30pm. | Auckland accordionist Tracey Collins will entertain at the 58th Easter National Jazz Festival which will be held in Tauranga from April 2nd to 4th, 2021. After the disappointment of having to cancel the 2020 Festival due to COVID-19, organisers are especially pleased to be hosting this year’s event, which is supported by the Tauranga City Council and TECT. Tracey will entertain on a scenic Jazz Sunset Cruise on the historic Kewpie boat, which will cruise the harbour of Tauranga Moana.
