  Video: Orpheus Award Verleihung auf Italienisch mit englischen UntertitelnDie XI. Ausgabe des Orpheus Award 2021 fand in diesem Jahr am 14. März in Roseto degli Abruzzi, Italien, online statt. Die Veranstaltung ist der Kritikerpreis für Akkordeonproduktionen für die ganze Gruppe der Stimmzungeninstrumente und richtet sich an italienische Künstler, organisiert von der Associazione Promozione Arte, dem künstlerischen Leiter Gerlando Gatto (Bild oben rechts), Renzo Ruggieri (Präsident - Bild oben links) und Giuseppe Di Falco (Sekretär).   Sibelius-LogoDie Sibelius-Akademie der Universität der Künste Helsinki wurde in den QS World University Rankings 2021 auf Platz 9 in den Darstellenden Künsten eingestuft. Die QS World University Rankings by Subject haben zum sechsten Mal die besten Universitäten aufgelistet, die Studiengänge in den Darstellenden Künsten anbieten.Die Akkordeonklasse der Sibelius-Akademie wurde 1977 von Matti Rantanen gegründet, der im Oktober 2020 den Führungsstab an Veli Kujala (Bild oben links) weitergab. Kujalas Kollegen sind Helka Kymäläinen (Akkordeonpädagogik), Mika Väyrynen (Hauptinstrument, Kammermusik, Stimmung, Prima vista), Matti Rantanen (Hauptinstrument), Heidi Velamo (Hauptinstrument der Juniorakademie) und Niko Kumpuvaara (Improvisation und Begleitung). In den über 40 Jahren ihres Bestehens hat die Akkordeonklasse der Akademie viele bedeutende Künstler, Preisträger internationaler Wettbewerbe, bedeutende Pädagogen, unzählige Master of Music und sechs Doktortitel in Akkordeon hervorgebracht. |

| Der XI Allrussische Wettbewerb "Grüner Stadtfrühling" wird vom 10. April bis 20. Mai 2021 online ausgetragen. Die jährliche Veranstaltung wird vom Staatlichen Haushaltsamt für zusätzliche Berufsausbildung und Exzellenz in der Stadt Moskau "Direktion für Bildungsprogramme in Kultur und Kunst", dem Zentrum für professionelle Exzellenz des Moskauer DOP für Bajan und Akkordeon, dem Dmitri Hvorostovsky State Institute of Arts und dem Moscow Governor's College of Art unterstützt. Die Wettbewerber werden von der Jury bewertet, der Naiko Sergey Fedorovich (Vorsitzender), Artyom Evgenyevich (Leiter des Zentrums für professionelle Exzellenz in Bajan und Akkordeon) und Maxim Fedorov (Dozent an der Moskauer Gouverneurshochschule für Kunst, Multiinstrumentalist, Gewinner internationaler Wettbewerbe) angehören. | Das Houston Accordion Orchestra Retreat 2022 wird vom 13. bis 16. Januar 2022 im Kemah Boardwalk Inn in Kemah, Texas, USA stattfinden. Das Thema 2022 wird ein spannendes sein "A Collage of European Music" und wird die Musik von Russland, Frankreich, Italien, Moldawien, Finnland und Aserbaidschan zusätzlich zu einer Weltpremiere einer neuen Orchester-Ouvertüre von Stas Venglevski beinhalten. Die erfolgreiche 4-tägige Veranstaltung 2021, die von Stas Venglevski und dem Houston Accordion Orchestra präsentiert wurde, war ein Retreat mit dem Thema Tango Fever. Ursprünglich hatten sich 40 Personen für die Teilnahme angemeldet, aber aufgrund der Covid-Krise wurde die endgültige Anzahl auf 14 Orchestermitglieder plus deren Ehepartner und Gäste reduziert. Die Veranstaltung beinhaltete ein "Original Music Compositions Concert", das sehr beliebt war. |

 Die Anmeldungen für den Internationalen Musikwettbewerb "Les Etoiles Sancyberie", der vom 26. April bis 2. Mai 2021 in Riom, Auvergne, Frankreich stattfinden wird, sind ab sofort online möglich. Präsident des Vereins ist der Akkordeonist Roman Jbanov.Der Verein "Sancyberie" wurde im April 2009 mit dem Ziel gegründet, die russische Kultur in all ihren Formen in die schöne Region Auvergne einzuführen und die französische Kultur nach Russland zu exportieren. Der Wettbewerb bietet Kurse für Solisten, Ensembles und Orchester für Akkordeonisten und Spieler von Balalaika, Domra und anderen Volksinstrumenten aus der ganzen Welt. Zu den Jurymitgliedern gehören Konstantin Ischenko, Trofim Antipov, Sergey Teleshev, Tatyana Saratova, Renzo Ruggieri, Sergey Voytenko, Galymzhan Narymbetov, Anibal Freire, Raynald Ouellet, Roman Kozlovsky, Roberto Lucanero, Alle Preisträger und ihre Lehrer erhalten eine Einladung zur Teilnahme an einem persönlichen Wettbewerb in Frankreich im Jahr 2022. Die Veranstaltung wird Auftritte von Mitgliedern der Jury, ein Konzert der Finalisten, Videokonferenzen und Meisterkurse beinhalten. | Video: Concert to celebrate the birthdays of Astor Piazzolla and Aydar Gaynullin (bayan) with a performance of Happy Birthday and "Libertango" with Artyom Dervoed (guitar), Sergey Shamov (percussion). Vladislav Lavrik (conductor & trumpet) performed with the Russian National Orchestra at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall. Aydar Gaynullin says "Astor Piazzolla is 100 years old today! The man who elevated the tango genre to the highest level, giving the world incredibly emotional and passionate music! Unfortunately, our 2021 concert today at the Berlin Philharmonic was cancelled due to the pandemic, but this video from January 2020 is especially important to me, because to celebrate my birthday together with the anniversary of the Great Astor - it's worth a lot!" |

 Organisers of the Vancouver Folk Music Festival regret to advise that after “countless hours of deliberation, they have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Folk Music Festival”, which was due to run from July 16th to 18th, 2021.Due to the “uncertainty of current conditions, immunization timelines, and what may be possible as vaccines continue to rollout to the public at large, the safety of the community, staff, contractors, artists, volunteers, vendors, sponsors, suppliers, patrons and festival supporters continues to be of utmost importance.” Refunds will be available for 2020 ticket holders. Organisers also wish to give people the opportunity to donate the cost of their ticket and all ticket holders will be contacted via email as soon as possible. |

| Popular entertainer Brandon Mcphee held an online concert entitled “St Patrick’s Day Concert – A Tribute to Ireland” on March 17th, 2021, with guest Manson Grant. Manson is a Country Music Veteran from "Manson Grant and the Dynamos" fame. Ticket information above.  Video: "Apricot" by Uri Sharlin with the Avi Avital TrioUri Sharlin (picture right) performed a concert at the Teo Centre for Art and Culture in Herzliya Pituah, Israel on March 15th, 2021. The live concert featured the “Piaf” show, French singer-songwriter, cabaret performer and film actress Edith Piaf. On March 28th at 2pm (NYC time), Uri will give an online “Forro” workshop for the Brooklyn Accordion Club in USA. Uri is an Israeli-born composer, accordionist and pianist, who has collaborated with prominent musicians including Natalie Merchant, Suzan Vega, Antony and the Johnsons, Avi Avital, and Frank London. "He feels at home across genres, and his two albums to date fuse his jazz and classical background with Balkan rhythms, Arabic modes and Brazilian harmonies." | One of Ireland's accomplished musicians, Sharon Shannon, will perform a special global online concert from the National Concert Hall Dublin on March 20th, 2021. This event will celebrate music and song on St Patrick's weekend and joins a series of online performances in a partnership with the National Concert Hall and Serious. Sharon will perform music from her new album “The Reckoning”, as well as many old favourites. She will be joined by Irish-Zimbabwean singer Lucia Evans, fellow former Waterboy Trevor Hutchinson (double bass), Niall Murphy (violin), Alan Connor (piano and guitar), Steve Hogan (drums), Luke Dunford (organ), Jack Maher (guitar and vocals) and Jim Murray (guitar). | The Orquesta Sinfónica de Acordeones de Bilbao (directed by Amagoia Lorono) will hold their annual meeting at their headquarters in Hurtado de Amézaga on March 27th at 1.30pm. | Auckland accordionist Tracey Collins will entertain at the 58th Easter National Jazz Festival which will be held in Tauranga from April 2nd to 4th, 2021. After the disappointment of having to cancel the 2020 Festival due to COVID-19, organisers are especially pleased to be hosting this year’s event, which is supported by the Tauranga City Council and TECT. Tracey will entertain on a scenic Jazz Sunset Cruise on the historic Kewpie boat, which will cruise the harbour of Tauranga Moana.
