Editors Note: Great News!

Nuremberg Accordion Orchestra
Germany rest home concertGreat News! We are pleased to report this week that some countries around the world are slowly starting to carefully open up again following Covid-19, while still maintaining certain social distancing regulations and hygiene standards for safety.

This week from Germany, the Nuremberg Accordion Orchestra Willi Münch e. V. (picture above) will begin rehearsals this week. Georg Hettmann, DHV Vice President also announced that his orchestra was returning to rehearsals with appropriate distancing.

Also this week, 8 year old Maxi Lörcher entertained the residents of the Novita Senior Center in Pfaffenhofen, Baden-Württemberg with his teacher Chrissi Pfeifer, much to the delight of his audience (picture left).

The North Shore Accordion Orchestras in Auckland, New Zealand (picture below) have announced plans they will begin their weekly rehearsals next month (following their July school holiday break).

Some areas of the USA are beginning to open again. In other areas accordionists are offering street performances and drive-in concerts.

We are also starting to get notification of Future Events that will be held this year in various countries including France, South Africa, UK and Belarus, so please check out this section of the Weekly News this week and attend these events if possible.

Please email: cjmusic@outlook.co.nz with details of your upcoming live rehearsals or performances so we can let accordionists and enthusiasts around the world know this positive news about our beloved instrument.

It is exciting to see the accordion world slowly starting to open up again!
