 The XII International Accordion Composition Competition “Francisco Escudero” was held in Hernani, Gipuzkoa last month.The objective of the contest is to promote the creation of pieces for solo accordion and for accordion in chamber music. The competition jury comprised of Zuriñe Fernández Gerenabarrena, Eugenia Luc and Iñaki Alberdi. Results: 1st prize: Lina Tonia (Greece) Title: The Sea of Rains Instruments: accordion, piano, violin and cello 2nd prize: Michalis Lapidakis (Greece) Title: Murmurs of an Invisible Island Instruments: accordion, flute and cello Special Mention Premier Award: Antonio Macaretti (Italy) Title: Omne vivum ex ovo Instrument: accordion |
