 La 70ème CIA Coupe Mondiale internationale, du 5 au 10 septembre 2017 se tient à Osimo, Italie, accueillie par le membre italien de la CIA , l'Italian Accordion Culture (IAC). Chacun est bienvenu à cet événement accordéon attractif et les accordéonistes sont invités à jouer avec le "World Accordion Orchestra IX". Le World Accordion Orchestra IX sous la direction du Prof. Joan Sommers interprétera trois oeuvres : 1. “Omaggio a Pietro Overture” de Pietro Frosini est un hommage parfait aux premiers pionniers italiens de l'accordéon Frosini et Deiro qui ont écrit l'oeuvre originale et Galla-rini qui a arrangé la pièce pour orchestre. 2. “La La Land” medley composé par Justin Hurwitz. 3. "La belle et la bête" medley d'Alan Menken Les membres du CIA WAO IX seront à nouveau des musiciens de nombreux pays – dont de nombreux dirigeants et délégués de la CIA venus pour le 138éme congrès. Un prix pour le CD de Ksenija Sidorova, Berlin - Allemagneby Rob Howard |
 L'accordéoniste lithuanienne Ksenija Sidorova a reçu le prix – ‘Enregistrement de concert” d'Echo Klassic, le plus grand prix allemand de musique classique pour son enregistrement de la musique de Carmen de Bizet. La remise des prix aura lieu à Berlin en octobre.Le CD “Carmen” de Ksenija Sidorova, réalisé le 3 juin 2016 est une nouvelle version instrumentale, vibrante et exotique de l'opéra majeur de Georges Bizet, pénétrée d'un son moderne et de l'esprit latin original. Elle interprète la musique de Bizet avec le Borusan Istanbul Philharmonic Orchestra, dirigé par Sascha Goetzel. Les mélodies de cet opéra le plus connu au monde sont re-imaginées avec de captivantes couleur orientales et les rythmes irrésistibles de la danse latino-américaine. Sidorova interprète le rôle-titre dessinant le destin passionné et tragique de cette iconique femme fatale, pour son premier album chez Deutsche Grammophon.  Le Festival Sibelius de Loviisa propose un concert à l'église de Porvoo en Finlande le 8 Septembre 2017 à 19h00. Ce concert comportera la première mondiale de la dernière oeuvre d'un des plus célèbres compositeurs finlandais le professeur Aulis Sallinen (né en 1935). Cette oeuvre pour accordéon, violon, violoncelle et piano écrite à l'occasion du prochain 50ème anniversaire de l'accordéoniste finlandais Mika Väyrynen. Par la volonté de Sallinen, cette nouvelle oeuvre en 5 mouvements ne comporte pas de note de présentation, le seul texte écrit est “Cette oeuvre est un cadeau d'anniversaire pour mon ami musicien Mika Väyrynen.”. Cette pièce sera pour Mika une sixième première mondiale d'oeuvres de Sallinen, dans le cadre d'une collaboration qui couvre plus de 15 ans. La première mondiale de cette oeuvre "Dance Music Suite Op. 107" pour accordéon, violon, violoncelle et piano sera interprétée par Mika avec pour compagnons Elina Vähälä (violon), Jan-Erik Gustafsson (violoncelle – directeur artistique du Loviisa Sibelius Festival) et Paavali Jumppanen (piano). Cette oeuvre est l'une des six nouvelles oeuvres écrites pour Mika Väyrynen à l'occasion de son prochain 50ème anniversaire (7 Octobre 2017) et des 100 ans de l'indépendance de la Finlande. Les cinq autres pièces auront leur première mondiale lors d'un concert à venir le 11 octobre 2017 au Camerata Hall du Helsinki Music Center. |

 Le vendredi 1er septembre à 19h30, le diatoniste Fergie MacDonald’s célèbrera son 80ème anniversaire par un grand ceilidh au Nevis Centre de Fort William, Ecosse. Il y aura de nombreux artistes invités dont l'accordéoniste Gary Innes, nouveau présentateur de ‘Take the Floor’ sur BBC Radio Scotland.Fergie MacDonald, également physiothérapeute et tireur international de pigeons d'argile, est considéré par de nombreuses personnes comme l'homme qui a popularisé le style West Highland de musique traditionnelle écossaise. MacDonald a atteint le sommet des hit-parades en 1996 avec son tube ‘Loch Maree’. Jugé trop traditionnel, il fut au départ interdit d'antenne sur la BBC mais il est désormais régulièrement programmé sur BBC Radio Scotland et BBC Radio nan Gaidheal. Il tourne toujours dans le monde entier et à réalisé 23 albums à ce jour. Il a publié son autobiographie en 2003, ‘Fergie: Memories of a Musical Legend’. | The Black Country Accordion Club organiser Lou Ambrose writes: Once again this fabulous duo, the Classic Kyiv Duo, made the journey to visit this country and our club for a very special concert. We all look forward to Igor and Oleksiy calling to see us during their annual tour and all the preparations were made in advance for this fund raising event. As we anticipated we had almost a full house and everything was in place for the grand raffle and the anticipated auction. Thanks to the generosity of members and a local businessman we had a good selection of goods ranging from a vacuum cleaner, whiskey, champagne down to a dancing duck. Ray Izod opened the proceedings with a selection of popular tunes. He now makes a fairly regular appearance at the club and now seems to be settling in as one of our regular entertainers. So, Igor Sayenko and Oleksiy Kolomoiets, known as the Classic Accordion Duo began their concert. These guys still devote their tour to the Hipokrat Society and we know that by now what a wonderful job this charity does. The expected interval very quickly arrived indeed and as soon as everyone had enjoyed the refreshments the fundraising began. The draw for the Tote and the Raffle were soon over and the auction began, and thanks to everyone who made the effort to donate the goods and prizes do seem rather inadequate. Well done one and all. The Duo completed the second half of their repertoire to a standing ovation once again. ‘The Flight of the Bumblebee’ and their version of ‘The Waltz of the Flowers’ had drawn the most enthusiastic round of applause that evening. The evening was a great success with an excellent turnout with a number of new faces in the audience and we were very pleased to donate the sum of £742 to a very worthy cause. On Monday August 28th, 8pm, our guest is the versatile accordionist Jovan Rnjak, with Roy Nock on the drums. |

 On Sunday August 20th, 2pm, accordionist Erika, known as ‘The Princess of the Accordion’ and her keyboard accompanist Jean-Marie, play for dancing at the Restaurant 11 S’Y Sent Bien in Floreffe, Belgium.Erika Honorez studied the accordion, theory of music and classical music with Franz Lebrun from the Brussels Conservatory, and then specialized in the musette genre. Since 1981 Erika has been performing, composing, and recording. She has appeared on radio and TV in Belgium and France. Erika has recorded many CDs and DVDs, which are available through her website.  On Sunday August 20th, 6pm-8.30pm, Stanislav Angelov performs a solo ‘Piano Accordion Recital’ at Northwards House, Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. His programme includes music by JS Bach, Chopin, Frosini, Galliano, Piazzolla, and more. Tickets cost 270 Rand, which includes wine and light supper. Stanislav Angelov studied the accordion in his native Bulgaria, and received a degree in accordion in 1991, after which he taught at the ‘Constantine Preslavsky’ University, Shumen.  Leonard Brown and his band perform at The Salutation Hotel in Perth, Scotland, on Sunday August 27th, 2pm until 5pm. Accordionists Iain McPhail and Brian Griffin will perform as special guests.Leonard Brown, from Newcastle, became only the second Englishman to become All Scotland Accordion Champion in 2012 (Robert Whitehead was the first in 1978). | The Castletown Accordion Orchestra (MD John Chilton) performs in a concert on Monday August 28th with the Akkordeon Landesjugend Orchester (ALJO) from Freiburg, Germany, and the Lambay Singers from Donabate, County Dublin, at St Anne’s Church, Bailborough, Virginia, County Cavan. Some accordion soloists will also contribute to this concert. The concert is hosted by the Irish Accordion Association. Admission is free, but voluntary contributions at the door will go to the Autistic Unit in Bailieboro Community School. |

 The London Accordion Orchestra (MD Ian Watson) performs in concert on Sunday September 3rd, 4.30pm to 6.30pm, at the Old Diarama Arts Centre (near Warren St tube station), 201 Drummond Street, London NW1 3FE. The LAO will share the concert with the highly accomplished Accordion State Youth Orchestra from Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany. Touring with the German orchestra are the renowned American Baritone Douglas Yates and virtuoso Bandoneonist Antje Steen. Admission is by a suggested donation of £10. LAO began life as Morley Accordion Orchestra, based at Morley College, London, in 1999. The ensemble plays a wide variety of music - from original works for accordion orchestra to show tunes and film scores. There are 30 members of the orchestra and for concerts we are joined by percussionists - so it's quite a sound! In May 2013 the MAO performed at the World Music Festival in Innsbruck, Austria. 2014 saw the orchestra host 2 foreign ensembles for concerts in London; 'Torkest' from Holland at the Dutch Church in the City and then the 'Nuremberg Accordion Orchestra' at St John's Smith Square.
