 The international project "May 6th World Accordion Day" is supported by the Macedonian Association of Accordionists “Ljubiteli na klasichna muzika” (MAA) – Skopje organising various successful events. This year for the 11th time the association organized a formal concert marking the celebration of the international event and birthday celebration of our instrument, the accordion. This May 6th marks the 190th anniversary of the accordion's patent!The concert was supported by the national program of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of North Macedonia. The World Accordion Day Gala Concert was held at the Philharmony in Skopje, on May 6th, and again, was promoted as one of the most prestigious cultural events during the month of May in the country. Photo report at: 2019 Republic of North Macedonia The concert featured renowned artists and accordion students from the class of Prof. Zorica Karakutovska performing works by Zolotaryov, Derbenko, Bete Ilin, Franck Angelis, Piazzolla, Gorka Hermosa and others. On this year’s concert, the composition "Sunrice" by Bete Ilin had its premiere performance by “AkordioM” (Zorica Karakutovska and Filip Stameski) with a string orchestra (picture below). The concert hall was fully occupied with a very enthusiastic audience. The new building of the Philharmony offers a high-quality venue which the artists fully utilized and the crowd appreciated when the audience rewarded the performers with well-deserved prolonged standing ovations (picture top). |
