Teniendo una remarcable carrera como profesor, intérprete y artista que ha trabajado con muchos compositores y ha interpretado muchos estrenos de nuevos trabajos, Friedrich Lips lanza ahora un nuevo CD titulado Cocktail “Rio Rita”. Este nuevo CD es el que hace 23 de su carrera, estos CDs estan disponibles en la página web de Friedrich Lips. Cocktail “Rio Rita” incluye una gran diversidad de intérpretes (ver la lista de intérpretes debajo de la información de las pistas) y de estilos diferentes para crear un espléndido CD de más de 58 minutos. Archivo de Vídeo y Proyecto educativo de la Copa Mundial 2011 – Chinaby Harley Jones |
El archivo de vídeo y Coupe Mondiale proyecto de educación, fue un proyecto nuevo en el año 2010 y este año se repetirá para la Copa Mundial del 2011. El proyecto lo inició la Confederación Internacional de Acordeonistas (CIA) con la ayuda de los patrocinadores Pigini Accordions y Accordions Worldwide. El proyecto incluye: (i) Un vídeo de todas las categorías de la Copa Mundial y sus concursantes para conservarlos en los archivos de la CIA en Finlandia, el cual a lo largo de los próximos años se convertirá en en un archiivo histórico de gran riqueza. (ii) Descargas gratuitas de las actuaciones de los ganadores del 1r, 2º y 3r premios de cada categoría de la Copa Mundial. Se colgarán online como descargas gratuitas para el uso educacional para profesores y alumnos. El objetivo es permitir la expansión de conocimiento e información y a través de ello aumentar los niveles de los acordeonistas y de musicalidad internacionalmente. Festival Internacional de Acordeón, Palanga – Lituaniaby Holda Paoletti-Kampl |
La Asociación de Acordeón de Lituania (ALA) y la Academia de Música y Teatro de Lituania estan organizando conjuntamente el Festival annual Internacional de Acordeón en Palanga, del 29 de junio al 5 de julio. El festival de este año, se hará en el Music Hall de la Escuela S. Vainiunas, Calle Maironis n.8, Palanga e incluirá jazz, música original contemporanea, transcripciones de música clásica y música pop-light. Entre los invitados al festical están el duo de acordeón Yava (Vladimir Popolzin y Yana Fedoruk - Rusia), el ensemble Subito (Bielorusia), Vitali Dmitriev (Rusia), y Gintas Kristaps (Letonia). En Palanga también habrá seminarios de los profesores: Vitali Dmitriev (Rusia), Andrej Ledeniov (Rusia), Owen Murray (Gran Bretaña) y de Lituania, Edward Gabnys, Raimondas Sviackevičius y Ričardas Sviackevičius. Campeonato Internacional de Australia AATA, Sidney - Australiaby Harley Jones |
Ya se pueden consultar online los informes diarios del Campeonato Internacional Australiano, que incluyen fotografías, los resultados y el programa. El evento se desarrolló del sábado 11 al domingo 12 de Junio en el Club Marconi de Sidney. Los resultados de la máxima categoría de solistas del Campeonato australiano internacional abierto de Acordeón fueron: 1º Piao Zhen (China), 2º Zhu Zheng (China), 3º Jia Ru (China). Piao Zhen es un estudiante del profesor Wang Hongyu (foto de la derecha), jefe del departamento de teclado del Music College de la Universidad Normal Harbin Normal. En el concierto de gala actuaron: - La Orquesta Sidney Balalaika dirigida por Victor Serghie con los acordeonistas Richard She, Lina Chegodaev y Nick Scherbakov - Ross Maio, demostrador de Roland - El duo de Aleksey Peresidliy (acordeón) y Dmitriy Zhdanov (saxofón) de Rusia, - "The Accordigles" dirigido por Steve Marx - y los ganadores de la competición. Renowned arranger Gary Dahl has released a new book ‘A Christmas Tradition’ - A Celebration with the Accordion by Gary Dahl. On June 7th vibes and bottlephone player Zoran Madjirov led his band, featuring accordionist Toni Pecanov, in a concert presentation of their new CD ‘Roots On A Roof: Balkano Nuevo’, at the last night of the festival OFFEST at the Macedonian National Opera, in capital of Skopje. Toni Pecanov studied accordion at St. Kliment Ohridski, Sofia University, Bulgaria, graduating in 2002, and teaches at OU ‘Manus Turnovski’ in addition to performing. The Accordions Worldwide news published on June 13th 1997 included the first article from Japan, about the annual ‘Viva Accordion’ festival. Is this festival still being held? ACCORDION FESTIVAL IN JAPAN Contributed by Mika Takayama The accordion festival "Viva, Accordion", with performances by amateur and professional accordionists, was held on the 1st of June at the Matsubara City Culture Hall in Osaka. The Festival is organised by the Japan Accordion Association and takes place once a year in Osaka. Mr Shoji Mikami played the local folk song "The River Konogawa, Paper Artisar's Song". Miss Midon Wakinaka, the President of the Hiroshima Accordion Kyohshitsu, performed "Like the Wind", which was written in memory of the late Mrs Wataki, who was a member of the Japan Accordion Association. Joseph Natoli Performs at the Chicago Accordion Club, Illinois - USAby Rob Howard |
On Monday June 20th, 8pm, Joseph Natoli will be performing for the first time at the famed Chicago Accordion Club, Elmhurst American Legion Hall (Normandy Room), 310 Butterfield Rd, Elmhurst, Illinois. The Chicago Accordion Club is one of the most well-known in the country and Joe is preceded at this monthly meeting by such great artists as Art Van Damme, Frank Marocco, Eddie Monteiro, and Stas Venglevski. Also, following Joe at the July meeting will be accordion icon, Dick Contino. Joe will be playing a variety of original compositions and arrangements all specifically created for the Roland FR7X V Accordion, and featuring the orchestral sounds of the instrument. He will be performing a very accurate recreation of Aaron Copland’s orchestral masterpiece ‘Fanfare For the Common Man’, as well as a program of classical, light classical, and jazz favorites. Joe will also be presenting his two CD's (“Waltz For Ron” and “Omaggio”) and the new ‘Adult Accordion Method (Vol 1). In addition, since Joe is a Roland V-Accordion dealer, he will be happy to answer any questions about the V-Accordion line. |
Scottish Tango Ensemble Concerts, Glasgow - UKby Rob Howard |
Accordionist Paul Chamberlain, from Edinburgh, will be performing with The Scottish Tango Ensemble in two concerts in Glasgow. On June 20th they are playing in the West End Festival as part of the Cottiers Chamber Project. This concert is in Cottier Theatre, 93-95 Hyndland Road, Glasgow, G11 5PU, and begins at 6pm. The Scottish Tango Ensemble have also teamed up with the Glasgow Tango Studio to present at 8.30pm on Friday June 24th a concert followed by a milonga in the Centre for Contemporary Arts in Glasgow. The ensemble was formed in 2009 and is a collaboration of four dynamic musicians based in Edinburgh and Glasgow: Gemma O’Keeffe (violin), Paul Chamberlain (accordion), Tom Berry (double bass) and Fiona Macleod (piano). Their program will include some of Piazzolla’s most famous concert tangos as well as more traditional repertoire from the dance halls of Buenos Aires. For the second time, The Brian Laurie Accordion Showband from Paisley, Scotland, under the baton of Brian Laurie (picture left), are jetting off to Florida, USA. They have been invited by the Accordionists & Teachers Guild, International (ATG) to their 71st Annual Competition and Festival in Orlando to perform in concerts and hold workshops on Scottish Music and dancing. While in Florida the band will also perform in Disneyland. The Brian Laurie Accordion Showband has a very high level of playing, with each of the single orchestras having achieved first place at UK Accordion Championships over the years. Accordionist and bandoneon player Klaus Paier leads a Jazz Workshop from July 18th to 23rd at the Musikforum, Klagenfurt-Viktring, Austria. Klaus Paier studied accordion, jazz and composition at Klagenfurt Conservatory, experimenting during this time in various styles (classical, jazz, contemporary music) and, since 1993, consistently carrying out his own projects. Whenever asked which form of music has influenced him most strongly, Klaus Paier replies: “Jazz and tango gave me the freedom to develop my own language of music”. ‘Accordion Ventours to Italy’ is a Mediterranean cruise, October 13th to 27th, on the Italian MSC Sinfonia, visiting numerous places of interest. The organizer is accordionist Mel Cohen, of Cut Throat Travel in Napa, California, USA. During the cruise there will be time for various accordion workshops and seminars. The itinerary includes: October 13th – cruise departs from Naples October 14th – visits to Lovorno, Villefranche sur Mer near Nice, Valencia, Ibiza, La Goulette in Tunisia and Catania. October 21st - another night in Naples with time for sightseeing, including Sorrento, the Isle of Capri, the Amalfi Drive October 22nd – visit to the Roland World V-Accordion Championships in Rome October 23rd/24th – visit to Castelfiardo, including the Accordion Museum and accordion factories October 25th - spend a day at the Roland Europe Factory and the evening in San Benedetto del Tronto.
