Foire de la Musique 2012, Frankfort - Allemagneby Holda Paoletti-Kampl |
 La foire de la Musique 2012 de Frankfort a lieu du mercredi 21 au samedi 24 mars, avec un jour ouvert au public le 24 mars. Les heures d’ouverture sont les suivantes : 9h-18h.Presque toutes les manufactures d’accordéon d’Italie et d’Allemagne seront présentes dans la halle 3.1, avec des exposants internationaux provenant de près de 46 pays présentant des instruments de musique, des logiciels et du matériel informatique, des partitions, et accessoires ou des services en rapport avec la production de musique. Pour le jour public, samedi, de nombreux démonstrateurs présenteront les différents instruments. Yuri Shishkin et Ludovic Beier en Concert et Séminaire, Asturias - Espagneby Alejandro Martinez Ares |
  Samedi 5 mai à midi, il y aura un concert très intéressant au Teatro Auditorio de Pola de Siero, Asturias. La première partie du concert sera assurée par le fameux artiste Roland Ludovic Beier (France), tandis que le public pour entendre le professeur et soliste de renommée internationale Yuri Shishkin (Russie). L’entrée à ce magnifique évènement est gratuite, sponsorisée par Roland Espagne. Plus tard dans l’après-midi, il y aura une demonstration des accordéon Roland par Ludovic Beier au Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique de la Principauté de Asturias. L’entrée est gratuite, sponsorisée par Roland Espagne. Le master class de Yuri Shishkin aura lieu le samedi 5 mai, de 16h à 20h, ainsi que le dimanche de 10h à 14h et de 16h à 20h, au Conservatoire Supérieur de Musique «Eduardo Martlnez Tomer’, Corrada del Obispo s/o, Oviedo.  ‘The Beauty of Imperfection, The Dick Contino Story’ (“La beauté de l’imperfection, L’histoire de Dick Contino”) est une autobiographie, retranscrite à partir de cassettes audio. Le livre raconte l’histoire de Dick Contino, avec de nombreuses anecdotes, et révèle ses batailles contre ses phobies extrêmes, son incarcération, la boisson, les indiscrétions. Ses problèmes dans l’armée américaine et sa peine de prison firent les grands titres. Dick Contino est devenu un nom familier. Il a été gracié par le président. Le livre révèle également ses amours pour l’actrice Leigh Snowden, ainsi que sa vie actuelle avec sa femme Tonia. Dick Contino devint une superstar de l’accordéon grâce au show radiophonique de Horace Heidt à la fin des années 40. Il a longtemps été un des meilleurs interprètes de musique de divertissement.  Dans le magazine américain “Time” du 12 mars 2012, il y avait un article: Le marché de la publicité chinoise surgit”. Le marché a grimpé de plus de 20% à 54 milliards de dollars entre 2005 et 2010, selon « ResearchInChina », une entreprise d’étude de marché basée à Pékin. Tout comme aux USA(et comme dans la majorité des pays du globe), Internet est le marché publicitaire qui grandit le plus vite en Chine. La part de la publicité en ligne en Chine a augmenté de 57% en 2011 et vaut maintenant plus de 10% de toute la publicité chinoise, soit deux fois plus qu’en 2009. Il semble que les les businessmen chinois réalisent l’importance de publicité sur internet depuis que le nombre hallucinant d’utilisateurs chinois est connu. Pour accordions.com, la croissance du nombre de lecteurs chinois est très marquée et des évènements tels que la Coupe Mondiale 2011 à Shanghai, Chine font énormément pour la promotion de l’accordéon et des communications par internet à destination des accordéonistes de Chine. Les grands évènements internationaux de Chine et leur couverture internet a également permis aux usines d’accordéon européennes (y compris Roland) de profiter de la forte croissance du marché chinois ces dernières années. |

When Sam and Rose Ash opened the first Sam Ash Music in Brooklyn, NY back in 1924, and its now the largest family-owned musical instrument retailer in the USA, (45 Megastores in 16 states), and it remains family owned and operated with three generations of the Ash family employed by the company.In the early 1950’s Jerry noticed the increasing popularity of the accordion and began to stock different models. Soon Sam Ash became known as the leading accordion dealer in the Brooklyn, NY area and are still active in accordion retailing. Picture to the side is accordion pants, unisex or not, you decide? | The Regional Competition for Young Performers took place on March 5th and 6th at Tarco- Sale, a small town located in Yamal region of Russia. Alexander Selivanov was Chairman of the Jury, alongside Moscow pianist Professor Denis Chefanov and violinist Alexey Mayevsky. Picture above of Alexander Selivanov presenting prizes. The competition had about 200 participants from the ages of 6 until 15. Alexander Selivanov also gave master-classes for young local musicians, and during the closing concert played on stage together with young talented accordionist Denis Koptelov. Picture below. The final piece of the concert was the famous ‘Frescos’ for Bayan and Orchestra by Viatcheslav Semionov, performed by Alexander Selivanov and Denis Chefanov. |

 The accordion world mourns the passing of great Jazz accordionist Frank Marocco, who died in Los Angeles on March 3rd 2012, aged 81.The Memorial Service for Frank Marocco will be held on Saturday, 24 March 2012 at 11:00am at the Northridge United Methodist Church, 9650 Reseda Blvd.Northridge, CA 91324, USA.  The Accordions Worldwide news for 13th March 1998 reported that accordionist Tracey Collins entered the McDonalds Young Entertainers, a very popular weekly TV show in New Zealand.It is not easy for accordion acts to impress in TV talent shows, but Tracey Collins certainly did and this was a beginning to a most successful career by Tracey as an accordion entertainer within New Zealand and internationally. ACCORDIONIST FEATURED ON TV MUSIC COMPETITION - NEW ZEALAND Contributed by Steve Collins Accordionist Tracey Collins was chosen from over 1,000 acts to compete in the McDonalds Young Entertainers, a very popular weekly TV show which is held annually over 13 weeks. Tracey performed ‘Cubanola’, promoting the accordion (which looked great under lights with sparkling diamantes). After her performance, she was interviewed by show host Jason Gunn. Tracey's performance is due to be screened in June 1998. |

Russia is the largest country by area in the world, extending across 9 time zones covering the whole of northern Asia and a large part of Europe. The accordion figures significantly across all of Russia, both as a classical and a folk instrument, and there are lots of accordion concerts and festivals taking place throughout the year. Some upcoming accordion events are: March 17th – ‘Day of Russian Bayan’ concert, featuring an Una Sinistra program with Alexander Selivanov and Yulia Amerikova, in the Concert Hall of the Gnessin Institute, Moscow. April 4th to 9th - Open National competition ‘Jugoria’, and various performances with orchestra together with Viatcheslav Semionov, Yuri Shishkin, Oleg Sharov, Victor Romanko and Zinaida Aleshina, in Surgut, Russia. April 25th - Una Sinista concert for the 25th Anniversary of music school in Yoshkar-Ola (Mari El), Russia. April 30th – Una Sinistra concert and meeting with the students of the Gnessin Institute in Moscow. |

| A concert of contemporary music for accordion and saxophone will be held on Friday, 23rd March at 8 pm in the KunstKulturKirche - Forum for Modern Art and New Music in Frankfurt. This concert for accordion and saxophone by the duo of Mirjana Petercol and Makus Hossner, is the highlight of the composition workshops at the Höchst Conservatory in Frankfurt, which took place under the direction of the composer and lecturer Claus Kühnl. The peculiarity of the acoustics of this church venue and its artistic environment has been a significant influence on the 6 new compositions being presented.  The dates for the 2012 Accordion Federation of North America (AFNA) Festival are 9th to 11th August at the Hyatt Hotel in Irvine, California. This year Joan Sommers will conduct the AFNA Festival Orchestra and we are inviting all the accordionists who want to play some vintage Anthony Galla-Rini arrangements to join Joan Sommers directing the AFNA Festival Orchestra.The Martin Music Center Accordion Orchestra (directed by Randy Martin) will be featured and in 2011 won the International Accordion Orchestra Competition at the American Accordionists' Association (AAA) Festival held in Charleston, South Carolina, July last year. The Martin Accordion Orchestra is a group of very talented and hard-working young musicians. In the past, the group has performed at the White House and Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., the Coupe Mondiale in 2007 and 2009 in New Zealand, and has played on multiple television broadcasts. |

Vladimir Zubitsky - Toccata In 2010, Augustinas competed in the Lithuanian TV talent show "2 minutes of Fame“ and won the award as the best show musician in the superfinal. He also received one of the biggest viewers‘ votes and won 4th prize in the superfinal. |

 Next week Scottish accordionist Roy Hendrie, a former NAO All Britain Junior Champion, is in concert at the North Staffs Accordion Club and the Stockport Accordion Club. Roy Hendrie, from Troon, Ayrshire, is a most accomplished accordionist and dance band leader, whose music encompasses a variety of styles including Scottish, Continental, French musette, Latin American, and jazz. | Mazaika Swing - passionate, dynamic and soulful Gypsy Jazz played by some of Britain's leading exponents of the style – Sarah Harrison (violin), Igor Outkine (accordion/vocals), Stuart Blagden and Ducato Piotrowski (guitars), and Marcus Penrose (double bass). When Sarah Harrison and Igor Outkine of critically acclaimed duo Mazaika met Stu Blagden (“The 'numero uno' Gypsy Jazz guitarist in the UK” - Hank Marvin), there was only one thing to do, form a gypsy swing quintet! They recruited Ducato Piotrowski, a Rom Gypsy and the genre’s top rhythm player in the UK, and Marcus Penrose, one of London’s top young jazz bass players. Mazaika Swing focuses on the repertoire of Django Reinhart, Stephane Grapelli and the Hot Club de France plus other contemporary Gypsy Swing composers such as Romane, Tchavolo Schmitt and others, but they also play original compositions, tangos and boleros and some hot gypsy favourites.
