 Début mars, le gouvernement italien a ordonné un confinement à travers sa riche région du nord de l’Italie, dont la capitale financière, Milan. Cette tentative pour contenir le coronavirus a échoué et le 22 mars, l’Italie a fermé toutes ses usines et entreprises non essentielles à travers le pays, dans le but d’enrayer la pandémie. Après tant de morts et le ravage de l’économie par le coronavirus, l’Italie maintenant relance prudemment son activité. Les manufactures d’accordéon italiennes se sont remises au travail cette semaine et la production d’accordéon est de retour. Accordions Worldwide (AWW) propose des services gratuits chaque année sur nos différents sites à nos milliers de lecteurs à travers le monde.  Prochaine retransmission 23 mai 2020 Commence à : * Rome 11 heures * Moscow midi * New York – 14heurs Auckland – 6.00 heures du matin (24 mai) La WAD2020 du 9 mai inclut : Une présentation de Xu Xiaonan (Chine) qui parle de son expérience à la Coupe Mondiale CIA où il fut le premier vainqueur chinois de la Coupe Mondiale en 2012 à Spoleto en Italie. Il joue ensuite sa propre composition de “Breeze in Summer” avec le pianiste Xu Gehui. La prestation musicale de Matthias Matzke (Allemagne) qui a gagné la Coupe Mondiale Junior dans la catégorie Virtuoso en 2011 et dans la catégorie accordéon digital en 2014. Matthias joue Ghost Love Score – Nightwish. Un entretien avec le vice-président de DHV, Georg Hettman qui donne des informations sur DHV – ce que cette organisation offre, où ils opèrent et qui sont ses membres. Il présente ensuite un segment musical avec l’ensemble d’accordéon HUMI (Pologne) qui décrocha la 1ière place dans la catégorie, orchestre de jeunes avec instruments divers, au festival d’Innsbruck. Georg Hettman est ensuite rejoint par le membre du comité musical du CIA, Andreas Nebl et par le directeur du Hohner Konservatorium, Bernhard van Almsick qui s’entretient de manière très intéressante sur les styles musicaux et comment l’école aide chaque élève à trouver son style musical. C’est suivi par une prestation musicale en vidéo de Felix Fritschi. Un segment musical par l’ancien vainqueur de la Coupe Mondiale, Valerio Russo, qui interprète une composition de Renzo Ruggieri. Un entretien intéressant et une prestation musicale de Vincent van Amsterdam du NOVAM (Pays Bas) et extrait de concert donné à l’occasion de leur 90ième anniversaire. Suit, ensuite, de l’information sur l’accordéon au Pays-Bas. Entretien et prestation musicale par le professeur de musique à l’Académie royale du Danemark, Geir Draugsvoll, qui parle de l’académie, des professeurs, des programmes et présente différentes vidéos musicales. Entretien et prestation musicale de Mikk Langeproon d’Eesti Akordioniliit (La société d’accoréon d’Estonie) qui parle de cette société, de ses membres et des évènements qu’ils organisent.  Le 8 mai 1945, fut le jour de reddition de l’Allemagne et date d’armistice pour la fin de la 2ième guerre mondiale en Europe. Cette année marque le 75ième anniversaire de la journée des anciens combattants pour lequel il était prévu pleins de festivités dont des fêtes de rue, comme celles qui eurent lieu en 1945.Cependant du fait du l’urgence Covid 19, beaucoup de festivités publiques ont été annulées mais des rassemblements locaux eurent malgré tout lieu respectant la distanciation sociale de rigueur. Dans ces fêtes locales, des accordéonistes, comme à Avondale Road, à Stockport. L’accordéoniste Rob Howard témoigne : hier après-midi, ce fut la fête des vétérans, en mode confinement sur la route d’Avondale Rd, et j’ai fait de mon mieux pour mettre un peu d’ambiance avec mon accordéon Scandalli Scott Wood Four à clavier, modèle 1935. Quand j’ai commencé à 16h, il n’y avait presque personne dehors. Mais quand j’ai commencé à jouer « God Save the Queen », en quelques minutes, les gens ont commencé à sortir en nombre de leurs maisons avec, tables, chaises, boissons et nourriture et rapidement il y’eut une ambiance de fête. Tout en respectant la distanciation sociale, ça a parlé, ri et j’ai joué non-stop. J’ai joué de nombreuses chansons populaires durant la guerre, pendant deux heures, sous un soleil resplendissant où l’on a même commencé à avoir très chaud. | Il Messaggero, Ombrie, Italie Jeudi 14 mai 2020 par Giovanni Camirri Palmira Frasconi, 106 ans témoigne : "Mon secret : je chante et je joue de l’accordéon" L’hommage suivant fut rendu à "grand mère" Palmira pour célébrer ses 106 ans. "Foligno peut se vanter d’avoir dix nouveaux centenaires autour de la grand-mère de tous les habitants de Foligno, Palmira Frasconi qui a atteint le vénérable âge de 106 ans, atteignant ainsi des records nationaux et internationaux » a souligné le maire, Stefano Zuccarini dans sa déclaration. « Aujourd’hui encore, elle chante et joue de l’accordéon. » Des récompenses officielles ont été octroyées à elle et les autres centenaires, avec les salutations et meilleurs vœux du maire et de la ville. « Nos anciens sont notre phare. Leurs racines profondes rendent nos vies plus solides. A eux qui ont surmonté les tragédies de la guerre et de la pauvreté, les tremblements de terre et les crises et maintenant le fléau de la pandémie, nous leur témoignons notre affection en soulignant qu’il sont des exemples à suivre pour ne pas renoncer et pour garder espoir. » |

The video above shows a performance by young accordionist Cristian Chiaraluce playing to Municipal authorities including Mayor Ascani, representatives of local associations, and Bishop Don Bruno. Luigino Pallotta also played Ave Maria (Mascagni) inside the church. |

It is the personal battle of Eder Rodrigues do Nascimento in defense of the Brazilian Amazon. "Nature depends on you, let it live. "In my songs I talk about the protection of nature. I give free advice to everyone to do what I do: do not light fires, do not pollute the water and do not cut down trees. We must keep them, they are the ones who will save the world," he tells Afp . Eder is 60 years old, lives in Boa Vista, a village that is part of the Uacari nature reserve, Brazil, whose inhabitants live mainly on fishing and crops. Since the start of the pandemic in its region, 200 people have already died. "The land is drying up due to deforestation. We are very worried because we live in the jungle. - he says - Here come diseases that nobody knows. Sometimes people die without knowing what". And sing, with the accordion occupying all the space of his small canoe: "Whoever visits the Amazon arrives in paradise. Who lives in the Amazon is already in paradise. If you want to know biodiversity, come with me". Note: Deforestation and forest fires continue in the region that many NGO's call the "lung of the planet" and lobby to stop the reduction of these natural forests. |

| Video: Trio Inat playing "Ka Mate" composed by Gorka Hermosa The Sarajevo Music Academy celebrated their 13th edition of the academy's May Music Festival on May 6th organised with the assistance of associate professor Belma Sarancic Nahodovic. The festival opened with a premiere performance in trio format of a piece composed by Spanish composer Gorka Hermosa entitled "Ka Mate", which was specially arranged for the occasion by members of Trio Inat (picture below). The premiere performance was also dedicated to the celebration of International Accordion Day (WAD), it's 191st birthday, celebrated every 6th of May worldwide by UNESCO as well as to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the accordion department at the Sarajevo Music academy. "Ka Mate" represents the New Zealand Maori celebration dance of life over death and was composed and first performed in solo format by Grayson Masefield in 2016. The Inat Trio decided (following all the commands by B&H authorities due to Covid-19) to choose this kind of work and to dedicate it to all fellow citizens as artistic encouragement in the difficult times we are going through. The Inat Trio consists of young accordionists, students and associates of the UNSA Music Academy: Azmir Halilovic, Danijel Lovric and Asmir Hamzic under the direction of Prof. Dr. Belma Šarancic. They have performed at over 100 concerts so far and won numerous awards, including the bronze prize from the Trophee Mondial held in Portugal in November 2019. |

During the coronavirus, we responded to the government's call for house isolation. This germinated the desire to create and after 6 weeks of arrangement, practice and modification, recording and editing, the video was finally completed. Guo Weixiang, born on January 2, 1955. Accordion National Class One Performer of Hunan Song and Dance Theatre, Honorary Director of Hunan Musicians Association, Honorary President of Hunan Accordion Professional Committee, Visiting Professor of Music College of Hunan Normal University, Visiting Professor of Hunan Women's College, Appraisal of Postgraduate Thesis Defense of Music College of Hunan Normal University Committee member. In 1971, he studied the accordion with the enlightenment teacher Lu Guoxiong. In 1972, he was admitted to the Hunan Provincial Song and Dance Theater to learn the accordion with the teacher Fengcheng Yuan. year. He was hired as a visiting professor at the Conservatory of Music of Hunan Normal University in 1979. From 1985 to 2015, he served as the chairman of the Hunan Accordion Professional Committee for 30 years, making important contributions to the accordion cause of Hunan Province. |

Gorka is very happy that TVE has considered that he deserves to be on the news. He says “I think is so important that millions of people in all Spain has seen our instrument. I feel a bit overwhelmed.... but very, very happy”. |

 The Dunloy Accordion Band celebrated VE Day with this video above of "Tipperary", arranged by their Musical Director, Tommy Clarke.The band, which was formed in 1956 is based in the village of Dunloy, Ballymoney, Co Antrim in Northern Ireland and enjoys playing at the annual Dunloy Parade (picture left) each July, which is one of the largest in the area. |

 Carrefour Mondial de l’accordéon President, Christiane Bouillé has announced the cancellation of the 32nd Carrefour Mondial de l’accordéon 2020 due to Covid-19. The event was to be held in Montmagny, Quebec in September this year. Faced with the obligation to comply with the guidelines of Public Health, including the measure of physical distance of 2 meters and various other limitations and constraints, it has become impossible to hold this international event. However, they are determined to offer a large and quality event in 2021 and have already started working on it. Anxious to maintain a closeness with its accordion fans, festival-goers and volunteers, the team at Carrefour Mondial de l’accordéon plans to unveil an online program throughout the summer.  Due to COVID-19 and the ways it has affected all our lives we are making new projects in new formats. For this reason Alexander Poeluev will give a live concert on his Youtube channel on May 16th at 6pm Moscow time, hosted by Edward S Petrowski Jr. This concert is free to watch. During the concert, Alexander will make a dedication in memory of his friend Lou Coppola with “Hallelujah”. The program will also contain music in all genres and styles from classical pieces to the most modern ones. It is suggested that the audience check in an hour earlier to see any advance announcements regarding the concert in the event there are any transmission difficulties or delays.   The 2020 Not Just Oom-pah accordion concert and workshop series has moved to a live online delivery system.The event will include featured presenters Alicia Baker (picture left) and Kevin Solecki (picture right) who will give concerts and workshops as follows: Alicia Baker workshops include: Parisienne Cafe Music, All About Articulation, Tips & Tricks for Left Hand Accordion, Bellows, Bellows, Bellows, The Ultimate Coordination - Singing While Playing Accordion and How to Use Piano Sheet Music for Accordion. Kevin Solecki workshops include: Different Styles of Polka Performance, Other Styles of Ethnic Music, History of Polka, How to Embellish Your Music (How to Play a Polka Effectively and Playing with Others (Duets/Bands). Concerts will be presented on June 14th & 22nd with workshops from June 23rd to 28th. Not Just Oom-pah are also offering one free Youth Scholarship for a young accordionist age 18 or under.  Jean-Louis Noton is planning two Masterclasses at the "Les Sapins" Hotel and Restaurant in Manigod, France. The first will be held from July 17th to 20th and the second from July 20th to 23rd, 2020.The masterclasses will include tutors Roman Jbanov, Patricia Hivert, Michel Madeira and Jean-Louis Noton. Unfortunately, as there is some uncertainty as to whether the hotel will be able to re-open by July 17th because of Covid-19, Jean-Louis Noton is asking interested accordionists to pre-register.  The 2020 XIII International Accordion Composition Competition “Francisco Escudero” will take place on October 23rd, 2020 in Spain organised by the Hauspoz Euskal Herriko Akordoei Elkartea.The objective of the contest is to promote the creation of pieces for solo accordion and for accordion in chamber music. Works may be composed for solo accordion or for chamber music with accordion, and their length may not exceed 10 minutes. The competition is open to composers of any age and nationality. Only pieces written after January 2016 will be admitted. Works presented may be commissioned, but must never have been previously performed either in public or through any digital or mechanical means. The closing date for entries is 16th October 2020. WAD2020 inclut : Une présentation et prestation par le vainqueur de la coupe mondiale 2019, Kirill Rusinov. Un mot de bienvenue de Grayson Masefield (Nouvelle Zélande) et Kevin Friedrich (USA). De l’information et un emploi du temps pour la 73ième Couple Mondiale CIA présentés par l’association d’accordéon d’Algarve au Portugal du 5 au 11 octobre 2020. Des informations et des prestations musicales de l’association tchèque d’accordéon – l’accordéoniste Milan Rehak aime divertir son public en jouant des choses différentes et a joué un arrangement fascinant intitulé “Bach rencontre ACDC”. Un entretien avec Motion Trio et une première mondiale d’une nouvelle composition de Motion Trio et le Ratingen Kammerchoir intitulée “Helicopter” pour célébrer le 25ième anniversaire du Motion Trio. Le CD paraîtra prochainement. Des prestations musicales à la Coupe Mondiale CIA 2019 (à Shenzhen en Chine) par des vainqueurs et concertistes, ainsi que le festival d’accordéon du printemps de Shanghai 2019 et une nouvelle composition par Nova Wan furent aussi inclus dans la section consacrée à l’association chinoise d’accordéon.
