Finland 100 years Celebrations Include 100 Year Friend - Finlandby Kimmo Mattila |
 Finland celebrated on December 6th, the 100th anniversary of the nation of Finland. It was a great celebration with hundreds of events around the country.I had a very special and rare private opportunity to play a mini concert and present two CDs, for my previous neighbor from the Village Eura. This lady, Mrs. Aili Elo celebrated her 100th birthday together with Finland. She was born just few days before Finland separated from the Russian Empire in 1917. Mrs. Elo still lives in her own apartment, reads daily newspapers and goes weekly to meet her younger friends. It was a great event to celebrate her 100th birthday and the Finland 100 anniversary in the same week. |
