| Der Tag der Harmonika 2022 findet vom 16. bis 19. Juni 2022 im Stadtzentrum der Neuen Mittelschule in Perg, Oberösterreich, statt und wird vom HVÖ Harmonikaverband Osterreichs organisiert. Dieser 29. österreichische Wettbewerb richtet sich an Akkordeon-Solisten, -Duos, -Ensembles und -Orchester, die eine Vielfalt von Konzertmusik, Unterhaltungsmusik, Kammermusik und Weltmusik spielen. HVÖ-Präsident Werner Weibert freut sich, zwei neue Highlights für den Tag der Harmonika 2022 ankündigen zu können: 1. Das größte Akkordeon-Orchester, das der HVÖ im Jahr 2020 gegründet hat, wird erstmals im Rahmen des Tages der Harmonika auftreten. Das österreichische Orchester ist eine Initiative der HVÖ-Vorstandsmitglieder Christian Höller und Johannes Münzner, die alle Akkordeonisten in Österreich zur Teilnahme aufgerufen haben. 2. Im Rahmen der Veranstaltung findet auch die Premiere des Cyril-Demian-Preises statt, der im Rahmen der neuen Internationalen Gastklassen vergeben wird. Anmeldeschluss: 6. Das Video beginnt bei 1:35 Programm in Russisch und Englisch unter: 2022All-RussiaDayDer Allrussische Tag des Bajans, Akkordeons und der Mundharmonika wird jedes Jahr (am dritten Samstag im März) in der Gnesins RAM Concert Hall in Moskau gefeiert. Die Veranstaltung ist auch Russlands Beitrag zum Weltakkordeontag (World Accordion Day 6. Mai), da dieses Datum mit einem russischen Nationalfeiertag kollidiert. Aus diesem Grund findet der Allrussische Tag des Bajans, des Akkordeons und der Mundharmonika jährlich im März statt. Die Abteilung für Bajan und Akkordeon des Gnesins RAM hat die Veranstaltung ins Leben gerufen, Projektleiter ist Friedrich Lips. | Der 2. Internationale Wettbewerb "Heinrich Band" 2022 und der VIII. Internationale Bandoneon-Meisterkurs werden online und live vom 24. bis 27. August 2022 in Iglesias, Italien, stattfinden. Die Veranstaltung wird von der Anton Stadler Cultural Association und der Accademia Italiana del Bandoneón organisiert, mit dem Beitrag der RAS Autonomen Region Sardinien - Abteilung für Bildung, kulturelles Erbe, Information, Unterhaltung und Sport, der Gemeinde Iglesias - Abteilung für Kultur, Sport und Unterhaltung, der Stiftung Sardinien, dem MIC Ministerium für Kultur und in Zusammenarbeit mit der Ar'Tango-Bandoneon Project Association von Avignon. Die Bewerbungen für die Vorrunde des Wettbewerbs "Heinrich Band" für die instrumentale Darbietung auf dem Bandoneon sind eröffnet, und die Teilnehmer können jetzt ihre Videos einsenden. Die Bewerbungsfrist endet am 24. Juni 2022. Die Jury besteht aus Per Arne Glorvigen (Norwegen), Piero di Egidio (Italien), Yvonne Hahn (Deutschland), Santiago Cimadevilla (Argentinien) und Fabio Furia (Italien). Drei Finalisten werden ausgewählt, um am 24. August 2022 in Iglesias anlässlich der VIII. Ausgabe des Internationalen Bandoneon-Meisterkurses ein öffentliches Konzert zu geben.   Thomas Hennig, Chairman of the Association for the Promotion of the International Accordion Competitions in Klingenthal e.V. has announced that the 59th International Accordion Competition Klingenthal 2022 has now been cancelled. The competition was due to be held online in May 2022. Organisers are now looking towards the 60th Competition in Klingenthal next year. |

| A virtual reunion over Zoom to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Frank Marocco’s passing was held on March 5. Forty-five Frank Marocco Accordion Event (FMAE) alumni and friends from the US, Canada and Italy participated in nearly 3½ hours of reminiscing and viewing videos together. A highlight of the reunion was the participation of Frank’s three daughters, Cynthia, Venetia and Lisa. Their heartwarming reactions can be summed up in a quote from an email I received from Cynthia following the reunion: “Thank you Dan so much for hosting this event . . . What a lovely community of accordion players were present. It meant so much to my sisters and myself." .....   Video: Concert series of the "Ensemble Via Nova" in the Kunsthalle Erfurt, Germany. Neza Torka and the Ensemble Via Nova gave a concert tour of Switzerland from March 31st to April 3rd, 2022. Beginning at the Kellertheater Brig on March 31st, the group’s program included 75th birthday celebrations for Max E. Keller (Swiss composer, jazz pianist and improvising musician) with works by Keller, Hoyer, Zapf, Frischknecht and Hildebrandt. Further concerts were given as follows: April 1st, at the Alter Stadthaussaal Winterthur with works by Keller, Hoyer, Zapf, Jean-Luc Darbellay and Hildebrandt. April 2nd at L ´ art pour l`Aar, French church Le Cap, Bern with works by Keller, Iranyi, Hoyer, Zapf, Hofer, Darbellay, Gut, Frischknecht, Wecks and Bovey. | The "Pipes and Reeds" concert featuring the South Hampshire Accordion Quintet was held on April 10th at the Thorngate Halls Ballroom in Gosport, England. Performers included Robert Stacey on the 1934 Compton theatre organ, playing popular classics and show tunes, followed by the accordion quintet playing the Glenn Miller story, Liberty Bell March, and Black and White Rag. |

| The 2022 Easter Music Seminar will be held from April 19th to 22nd, 2022 at the Federal Academy of Trossingen in Germany organised by the Akkordeonjugend Baden-Württemberg in the Deutschen Harmonika-Verband e. V. Young musicians aged from 10 to 26, who play accordion, harmonica, melodica, keyboard, piano or drums, will enjoy a program including orchestra playing, conducting, lectures and music production. Lecturers include Alexander Cargnelli (music educator), Jürgen Farkas (music educator), Sarah Hofheinz (representative of youth education) and Thomas Maier (musical instructor for percussion instruments). |

 “Los Lobos” will perform at The Fountain Stage at Regents Square Western New Mexico University in Silver City, New Mexico on April 23rd, 2022 at 6.30pm.The group includes David Hidalgo (accordion and multi instrumentalist), Louie Perez (drums, guitar & vocals), Steve Berlin (saxophone, melodica, flute, percussion), Cesar Rosas (vocals, guitar & mandolin) and Conrad Lozano (bass, guitar & vocals). The band has just won their 4th Grammy at the 64th Grammy Awards held on April 3rd this year for their album "Native Sons" in the "Best Americana Album" category. |

 Dr. Helmi Harrington heißt alle "im Namen des Verwaltungsrats im A World of Accordions Museum" willkommen.Der Weltakkordeontag (WAD) und das Palmer Festival finden vom 6. bis 8. Mai 2022 in Superior, Wisconsin, im Harrington ARTS Center, dem Sitz des A World of Accordions Museum (AWAM), statt. Am Freitag, dem 6. Mai 2022, wird der Weltakkordeontag mit einer Reihe von Vorträgen, Vorführungen und Konzerten begangen. Dieser Tag steht unter dem Motto "Cyril Demian Accordion Patent Celebration".
