Biagio Antonacci et Massimo Tagliata jouent lors de Miss Italia à la TV - Italieby Holda Paoletti-Kampl |
 L’invité musical des finales de Miss Italie 2012, le 10 septembre sur la TV RAI, était le célèbre chanteur italien Biagio Antonacci, accompagné de l’accordéoniste Massimo Tagliata, qui ont interprété un medley de trois chants connus de Antonacci : "Quanto tempo e ancora","Pazzo di lei" et "Se io Se lei". La première vidéo montre ces duos et à la fin, Biagio Antonacci dit en italien que l’accordéon est l’un des plus grands instruments et que celui-ci était entièrement fait main à Castelfidardo ! A la fin, c’est tout le groupe qui est monté sur scène pour interpréter leur grand tube le plus vendu cet été en Italie : "Non vivo più senza te", qui utilise beaucoup l’accordéon et le met très en valeur. |

 Le Festival International d’accordéon 2012 de Castelfidardo a débuté le 13 septembre avec un concert à Loreto, faisant partie des concerts “pré-festival”, servant à promouvoir le festival auprès du public italien. Le premier concert présentait Danilo Di Paolonicola, Mirco Patarinin et Mari D'Amario. L’évènement était soutenu par Scandalli Accordion, Paolo Soprani et Roland Europe. Le programme de chacun des musiciens était varié et présentait des styles musicaux très différents, comme les accordéons diatonique, de concert, et digital. |

 ‘Accordions International 2012’ a lieu à Mundeseley Holiday Village, Paston Rd, Norfolk NR11 8BT, du 5 au 8 octobre.Les invités principaux sont Giancarlo Caporilli (Italie, en haut à gauche), Pearl Fawcett-Adriano (au milieu), Harry Hussey(en bas), David Price, Alan Young, Sue Coppard, Roy Hendrie, Rosemary Wright, Bert Santilly, The Clarinet Connection, et le quintett d’accordéon Norvic Concordia (MD Peter Ayers). L’organisateur est Heather Smith. Le festival comprend des concerts Durant la journée et Durant les soirées, des ateliers, de la danse écossaise, une foire comprenant The Accordion Shop, Birmingham Accordion Centre, Limex, MAP Editions, et Robaccord Publications. Dans les ateliers, il y aura: Orchestre élémentaire (MD Rosemary Wright, Orchestre intermédiaire (Brian Jenkins), Swing Band (Heather Smith/Geoff Gook), Jazz Group (Bert Santilly), Buskers Band (Bert Santilly), Scottish Band (Roy Hendrie), Vintage Band (Jean Hanger), et le coin des compositeurs (Sue Coppard). Il y a également une piscine! L’organisateur fondateur du festival, le regretted Malcolm Gee, avait décrit l’évènement comme “…a total indulgence in accordions”. C’était tellement vrai!  Popular Scottish duo fiddle player Aly Bain and accordionist Phil Cunningham have just released ‘Five and Twenty’, their 6th album, and it has the usual mix of great tunes.The CD title has been picked because this is the 25th year that Phil and Aly have been touring so this is their Silver Jubilee year.  On Wednesday nights from 10-11 pm, Bruce Triggs and Rowan Lipkovits host what might be the world's only radio show dedicated to the accordion and its free-reed relatives. On the air at Vancouver's CFRO Co-op Radio (100.5 fm, Starchoice 845 and Telus TV: Channel 718) since December 2006, their broadcasts are also podcasted to an international audience of hundreds at accordionnoir.orgAiming to represent the global diversity of regional musical genres and styles the instrument is used in, the show celebrates and champions the renaissance of the accordion.  The Kyiv Classic Duo – accordionists Igor Sayenko and Oleksiy Kolomoeits – have done several concert tours of Great Britain, each time raising money for the victims of the Chernoby nuclear disaster via the Hippokrat Society charity. Igor Sayenko writes, “Last June we have been to UK with concerts as before. Speaking about raising fund for the Hippokrat Society, we are proud to say we have raised £3,893! This is less, than on 2010 and 2011 years, but I think it's still worth to do it. So, after some requests for year 2013 and some discussions we are starting to plan our next journey to the UK for July 2013”.The Kyiv Classic Duo are one of the world’s finest accordion duos, and have acquired a loyal following in the UK.   The Accordions Worldwide news for September 18th 1998 included mention of a BBC TV program that referred to Charles Wheatstone, inventor of the English concertina and a renowned scientist in the 19th Century. Wheatstone was one of several Europeans who experimented with the Chinese imported sheng, resulting in the invention of such instruments as the concertina, bandoneon, harmonica, harmonium, and, of course, the accordion. We should all be thankful for their efforts and ingenuity. SCIENCE AND CONCERTINAS - UK Contributed by Chris Timson A new series of the popular science program ‘Local Heroes’ has just started on BBC 2 (UK). The October 5th edition has a segment devoted to Charles Wheatstone, inventor of the concertina and is mostly set in the computer games shop in Gloucester where he was born. Chris Timson was asked to provide consultancy for the show and he also provided the concertinas shown in the broadcast. Of particular interest is the symphonium, loaned by Colin Dipper. The symphonium is the direct predecessor of the concertina, and Chris believes there are no more than 20 left in the world. |

 Accordionist Paul Chamberlain will be performing with the Scottish Tango Ensemble on Saturday September 15th for the Mid-Argyll Arts Association in Ardrishaig Church Hall. Paul will also be giving a solo lunchtime recital in Sheffield Cathedral on Tuesday September 25th at 1.15pm, featuring works by Bach, Scarlatti, Semionov, Angelis and Weber. October 3rd sees Paul giving a joint concert in Inverness Town House with Matthew MacLennan which will feature a mixture of Scottish and Classical repertoire.  Accordionist Gjovalin Nonaj performs a recital on September 23rd, 3pm, at the Centre Européen de Médiation (asbl), 119 rue de l’Hôtel des monnaies, 1060 Brussels. Gjovalin Nonaj was born in Lezhe, Albania, in 1968, and comes from a family of singers and traditional musicians. He took his first steps as a musician at the age of 5 years on the çifteli (lute with 2 chords). Later, he studied clarinet, horn and accordion. Now resident in Belgium, he has dual Belgian/Albanian nationality, and has studied accordion at the conservatories of Tirana and Brussels. His music and his singing are rooted in the Balkan traditions, though he also has a large repertoire of popular and classical music. He performs as a solo artist and with other musicians, such as the ‘Lule bore Quartet’. He has made several CDs and tours often with groups or solo through Europe, the Balkans, and Africa.
