Zwei Tage nach dem Finale des Coupe Mondiale Konzertes und Preisverleihung, blieben einige der CIA Vorstände in Shanghai um alle ihre restlichen Aufgaben zu erledigen. CIA Präsident Raymond Bodell traf sich mit dem Vize-Präsident der Shanghai Normal University Cong Yuhao und Lu Jianfei, Sekretär des Parteikomitees der SHNU und sprach ihnen seinen aufrichtigen Dank aus, für die wunderbare Unterstützung der Universität bei der Ausrichtung des Coupe Mondiale‘s. Die Universität stellte drei Konzertsäle, Wettkampfshallen, CIA Büroräume und eine große Anzahl von Mitarbeitern und Assistenten zur Verfügung. Als einen Teil der Dankesbrief stand zu lesen: "Unter der Leitung von Prof. Li Cong, Dekan der Hochschule für Musik und auch Präsident der China Accordion Association und Zhao Jiping, Präsident der chinesischen Musiker Association, haben die chinesischen Konkurrenten bemerkenswerte Erfolge erreicht: 1., 2. oder 3. Platzierungen in 6 von 7 Kategorien des Coupe Mondiale’s . Der Bürgermeister von Shanghai Han Zheng nahm an der Eröffnungsfeier und Festival mit mehr als 1.300 Künstlern aus den 29 Akkordeon-Teams teil. Die sowohl auf öffentlichen Plätzen, in Parks und Geschäftszentren in Shanghai viel positive Berichterstattung in den Medien, Zeitungen, Radio und TV erhielten. Der Shanghai Normal University hat allen Grund, stolz darauf sein zu können, wie sie China mit ihren Akkordeonisten und Musikern in aller Welt nach höchsten Standards vertreten und gefördert haben. Maestro Peter Piccini (1936 – 2011), Perth – Australiaby Rob Howard |
 Peter Piccini wurde in Sydney, Australien, am 4. Juni 1936 geboren. Bereits seit frühestem Alter war Musik ein großer Teil seines Lebens. Sein Debüt gab er als Akkordeonist bei einem Schulkonzert, als er erst sieben Jahre alt war, und begann das Akkordeon ernsthaft ab dem Alter von 14 Jahren zu studieren.Peter lernte um die Geheimnisse des Akkordeons von seinem Vater Peter Piccini Senior, der als 'Daddy des Akkordeons "in Australien galt und der auch der erste Akkordeonspieler in Australien war, der das Pianoakkordeon zu lernen begann. Mit erst 15 Jahren spielte Peter Jr. für Rundfunk und nationale und kommerzielle Radio-Stationen und erschien auf zahlreichen Bühnen und Aufnahmesessions am Akkordeon und Klavier. Im Jahre 1955 ging er nach Europa und England, für Rundfunk und die BBC, erschienen in TV-Shows und trat im berühmten Club Pigalle, London, als Begleiter für die französische Sängerin Linie Renuld auf. In Europa, tourte Peter Italien mit dem berühmten italienischen Sänger, Claudio Villa, mit dem er häufig im Radio, Fernsehen, Filme, Bühnenshows und Aufnahmen zu sehen und zu hören war. Im Jahr 1963 Peter startete er mit seiner charmanten Frau Serafina eine weitere Tour nach Übersee, wo er Klavier ebenso wie Akkordeon spielte. Dies führte zu Engagements mit führenden Orchestern kontinuierlich in ganz Europa. Zurück in Australien in 1965 wurde er Musikdirektor für Channel 9 Television Network und Rundfunk für ABC Australien. Im Jahr 1968 tourte er in den Fernen Osten und Vietnam zur Unterhaltung für die Streitkräfte. Im Jahr 1972 gab es eine weitere Tour in Europa und den USA. Ab 1976 hielt er sich hauptsächlich in Australien auf und war sehr beschäftigt mit Rundfunk und Aufnahmen mit seinem großen Orchester. Bis zu seinem Ableben war Peter Piccini Musiker und Komponist und seine Arbeiten wurden weltweit viel bewundert. Peter Piccini und Sarah (Fina) Piccini genossen ihren 50. Hochzeitstag am 22.   Mirco Patarini und Antonio Spaccarotella, Delegierte der CIA und italienische Mitglieder der Internationalen Jury des Coupe Mondiale’s in Shanghai, China setzten ihre Reise in den Osten weiter für ein Konzert am 9. Oktober 2011 in Seoul, der Hauptstadt von Süd-Korea.Zum ersten Mal wurde ein Akkordeon Konzert in dem neuen Seoul Arts Center, der Open Stage aufgeführt. Vor einem Publikum von etwa 800 Personen, haben die beiden Künstler das Publikum mit einem Repertoire von großer Vielfalt, von Jazz bis traditioneller italienischer Musik, vom Barock-Transkriptionen und Original-Kompositionen und von der Klassik bis zu den bedeutendsten zeitgenössischen Autoren begeistert. Mirco Patarini hat bereits ein Konzert in der gleichen Periode des Jahres 2010 gegeben, und seitdem ist die Begeisterung und das Interesse der koreanischen Akkordeonisten und Enthusiasten weiter gewachsen und hat somit die Veranstalter zu einem neuen Terminvereinbarung veranlasst. |

  Der in den USA lebende französische Akkordeonist Julien Labro hat seine neue CD "A Far Cry" am 25. Oktober auf Azica Records veröffentlicht. Dies ist eine Zusammenarbeit mit dem weltbekannten klassischen Gitarristen Jason Vieaux mit -Piazzolla Aufnahme sowie einigen Julien Labro Arrangements für Gitarre, Bandoneon und dem außerordentlichen Boston Kammer Orchester.Inbegriffen sind Piazzollas "Vier Jahreszeiten in Buenos Aires ', sowie ' Double Concerto für Bandoneon, Gitarre, & String Orchestra ', und Duett' Histoire du Tango".  ‘The Mighty Accordion’, by David DiGiuseppe, is a guide to playing the bass side of the accordion. The book includes a comprehensive collection of progressive exercises to guide the student in learning and mastering bass/chord patterns. For the beginner, the first few chapters assume little or no knowledge of the instrument and teach how to play simple accompaniment patterns. Uses of the major, minor and seventh chords are explained, with numerous exercises offered to develop skill in executing various bass/chord accompaniment patterns. For the advanced player, latter chapters present exercises on chord combinations needed to play sixth, minor seventh, major seventh and ninth chords, and other advanced techniques. Throughout the book, explanations are offered on the workings of the instrument and relevant music theory. The book includes 2 CDs, featuring many of the book's exercises played at both a slow and moderate tempo. David DiGiuseppe is an accomplished and versatile accordionist, mandolin and cittern player, singer, and storyteller. He is equally at home performing Irish tunes in a pub, French musettes in a cabaret, contra or Cajun music for a dance, or in the intimate setting of a concert hall.   On Saturday October 8th, the Accordion Department at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (formerly known as the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama) held an Accordion Showcase concert in the Junior Conservatoire. Organised by Djordje Gajic(picture left), who established the Accordion Department in Glasgow, the concert attracted a near capacity audience in the Guinness Room. Performances were given by three of the current Junior Conservatoire students, Freddie Henderson, Zach Ronan and Valerie Barr, followed by postgraduate student Paul Chamberlain(picture right). Djordje Gajic gave a stunning solo performance before being joined by his wife Andrea Gajic to bring the concert to a rousing finish with Piazzolla’s ‘Grand Tango’. | The Accordions Worldwide news for October 19th 1997 included an item about a forthcoming cruise, Norway to Denmark, featuring two accordionists. It is good to note that cruise ships with accordion entertainers happen quite often in various parts of the world, and this must be sheer bliss for enthusiasts on board! ACCORDION PERFORMS ON CRUISE SHIP - NORWAY by Per Bolstad From October 5th to 9th, Terje Dyrkolbotn and Per Bolstad (accordionist) will perform on the cruise ship M/S Bergen which sails from Norway to Denmark. This duo often perform on the ferries between Norway and Denmark and between Norway and England. They play various kinds of music including old Norwegian dance music that was mainly composed by Per Bolstad's great grandfather (1867-1975). He composed about 800 dances, waltzes, polkas, rheinlender, and mazurkas. Many of these have been recorded by various Norwegian and Swedish musicians. She played with Nat King Cole, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Benny Carter, Lena Horne, Dizzy Gillespie, Peggy Lee, and Victor Borge. In 1995 she was president of the FOTA (friend of the accordion) |

 Friday 21 October from 18:30 to 20:00, Frédéric Deschamps will give a Master Class on the Web TV that he created last August, Deschamps Channel. A Paris time clock is on the Deschamps Channel.Program: Implementation of teaching articles that Frédéric Deschamps wrote a monthly article for the French magazine Accordéon et Accordéonistes as well as for the Italian magazine Strumenti e Musica. You are able to ask directly while its "live" any technical and musical questions you want. Its a very interactive live teaching. You can also "show" and voice your technical problems on Skype for the duration of the Master Class. It will be conducted in French for the occasion. Other dates by appointment teaching English and Italian will be provided as soon as possible.
