Neue CD von Mika Väyrynen und Angel Luis Castaño - Finnlandby Kimmo Mattila |
 Eine neue CD von Mika Väyrynen (Finnland) und Angel Luis Castaño (Spanien) wurde kürzlich veröffentlicht. Das finnische Akkordeon Institut in Ikaalinen hat dieses besondere internationale Aufnahme im Internet unter Finland Recordings veröffentlichtSowohl Väyrynen und Castaño sind weltweit bekannte Solisten, mit jeweils vielen Solo-Aufnahmen auf ihrem Konto. Nun haben diese beiden Künstler ihre Talente kombiniert, um eine CD mit Werken für nur Akkordeon-Duo zu produzieren. J.S. Bach: Toccata in F-Dur BWV 540 von JS Bach, Concerto in a-Moll von JSBach BWV593-A.Vivaldi und Adagio von Samuel Barber, Transkriptionen der berühmten Barock-und klassische Stücke. Die Ballade von Torbjörn Lundquist, Duo von Harri Wessman sowie Tarantella von Vaclav Trojan sind ausgezeichnete ursprünglichen Duos aus den Jahren 1960 und 1980.  Am Sonntag, 7. Juli 04.30 Uhr, wird auf der Piazza della Repubblica, Castelfidardo, der Versuch unternommen, einen neuen Rekord für die grösste Anzahl von Akkordeons, die gemeinsam spielen, aufzustellen. Es müssen 1.200 Akkordeonisten zusammenkommen und 'Happy Birthday', zur Feier des 150. Jahrestages der Gründung der Paolo Soprani Akkordeon Industrie in der Stadt im Jahre 1863, spielen.Die Veranstalter laden alle Akkordeonisten ein, für den Rekordversuch, der um 16.30 beginnt, teilzunehmen. . Die Teilnehmerzahlen wird auf dem Platz gut sichtbar bekanntgegeben. Für alle Besucher: Autos entweder in Porta Marina, hinter den Mauern an der Mittelschule, oder beim alten Krankenhaus ( Ospedale Vecchio) abzustellen und den Shuttlebus zum Transfer zu benützen. |

| Dei sehr beliebte englische Gruppe Mumford & Sons ", die häufig das Akkordeon in den Mittelpunkt stellen, mussten mindestens 3 komplett ausverkauften Konzerte in den USA absagen, weil ihr Bassist Ted Dwane ein Blutgerinnsel in seinem Gehirn hatte. Der 28-Jährige wurde am 10. Juni ins Krankenhaus eingewiesen wo sich durch ein Scan zeigte, dass er einer Notoperation unterzogen werden musste. Die Band:: Marcus Mumford (Gesang, Gitarre, Mandoline, Schlagzeug,), Ben Lovett (Gesang, Akkordeon, Keyboard, Schlagzeug) und Winston Marshall (Gesang, Banjo, Gitarre, Resonator-Gitarre). Die Gruppe entschuldigt sich für die abgesagten Konzerte und hoffen, die restlichen Sommershows termingerecht durchführen zu können.  Der beliebte schottische Akkordeonist und Lehrer Gary Blair, erst vor kurzem aus Auftritten von China zurückgekehrt, ist in Bälde schon wieder unterwegs - diesmal in Richtung Westen statt nach Osten.Am 16. Juni flog Gary in die USA und er wird dort vom 20 bis 23 Juni. Am 28. Juni Konzertauftritte, Lehrgänge und Wettbewerbsrichter bei der jährlichen Internationalen Akkordeon Feier Leavenworth, Washington geben. Aufführen wird Gary Sequim Prairie Grange, Washington. Weiter geht es dann nach Portland, Oregon, für ein Konzert am Sonntag, 30. Juni, 02.00 Uhr, an der Portland Community Music Centre, von Konzert am Montag, 1.  On July 1st UK-based Latvian accordionist Ksenija Sidorova releases a new CD, ‘Fairy Tales’, featuring old and new repertoire, transcriptions and orginal works. Ksenija Sidorova performs on the recording with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, conducted by Clark Rundell. The CD appears on the Champs Hill Records label, serial number CHRCD055.The CD tracks are: 1) ‘Caprice Espagnol’ - Moskowski 2 – 8) ‘Fairy Tales, a Concerto for Accordion’ - Vaclav Trojan 9) ‘Who's the Puppet?’ - Artem Vassiliev 10 – 14) ‘Holberg Suite’ - Grieg 15) ‘Scherzo - Midsummer Night's Dream’ - Mendelssohn 16) ‘Scherzo – Toccata’ - Petr Londonov Ksenija was recently awarded the Latvian Grand Music Award 1212 'Outstanding Performance' prize. | Rade Mijatovic - 1st Prize winner of senior Coupe Mondiale 2005, in Castelo Branco, Portugal performs Impasse III and IV movement. This video put online on Nov 18, 2011. The composition Impasse by (available online at) Franck Angelis was the test piece for the 2004 Coupe Mondiale in Pontarlier, France. Contestants could choose any 2 movements of this work.  The Accordions Worldwide news for the week ending June 11th 1999 reported that Bernadette Conlon, from Australia, had the recently become the South Pacific Solo Champion in New Zealand, adding another title to her long list of successes in accordion competitions. Since then, Bernadette has married, becoming Mrs Zabawa, and moved to Chicago, USA. Conlon Does It Again - New Zealand Contributed by Wayne Knights The 1999 New Zealand Accordion Championships and Festival were held from June 4th to 6th in Auckland. The event opened on Friday evening with a ‘Mix & Mingle’ to welcome overseas competitors and visitors. Adjudicators included many well known New Zealand accordion teachers and entertainers as well as overseas guests such as Professor Li Wei Ming from China. Winner of the South Pacific Piano Accordion Solo Competition was Bernadette Conlon (Australia) who also won the International Australian title last weekend. Guest performers included Tracey Collins, Lian Huang, North Shore Accordion Orchestra (conducted by Lionel Reekie and Heather Masefield) and SCWALT quintet. Special guest artist John MacDonald entertained an enthusiastic audience on the Saturday evening, after which he was honoured for his enormous contribution towards the popularity of the accordion with a New Zealand Accordion Association Life Membership presentation.
