Jacques shares, “What luck for a father to be in artistic resonance with his talented filmmaker son! Many thanks Lucas Pellarin”. Jacques Pellarin is a composer, accordionist and a music producer well known internationally for The French Chic & Eclectic Accordion collection from Jacques Pellarin music productions. He has recorded 16 albums to date encompassing many genres from Jazz to French Cinema to Latin Jazz to Crossover Traditional to Classical music. His latest release entitled 'Paris Sunlight' (12/21) is a collection of self penned songs which celebrates the Parisienne Café Culture popular in the early 1900s in the City Of Romance when café proprietors would hire accordion players to entertain the 'Al Frecso' visitors. His music has been featured often on NHK TV in Japan and has been used in a national documentary there. | The 2022 NZAA South Pacific Accordion Championships & Festival will be held at a venue to be selected June 4th and 5th, 2022. The event, due to current Covid travel restrictions, will be open to only New Zealand residents or NZ passport holders. A variety of age group classes for soloists, duos, trios, ensembles and orchestras will be available. Covid restrictions mean that currently, non NZ residents and non NZ passport holders are not allowed to come to New Zealand. Entries close on April 14th, 2022.   "Stockport Accordion Club's Newsletters - a Diary of Squeezing" is a fascinating look back through 200 club newsletters written since 1987, describing our club’s many ups and downs.In 1987 our then MD Clifford Wood asked me to write a newsletter, and 35 years later I am still writing them! During the last lockdown I revisited the 200 past newsletters for the first time, and edited them into a loose diary form, then published the result as a book. This unique and fully illustrated hardback book was produced for our members, past members and friends, and all those who now have it just love it, so I am told! It is a trip down memory lane like no other. The book is available free in exchange for a donation (of any amount) which will go to St Ann's Hospice, Heald Green, Stockport. The newsletters describe Stockport Accordion Club’s NAO North West Area Festivals (1988-96), our many Club Night concerts and guest artists (1990-2019), club visits to accordion festivals and NAO UK Championships, and much else involving SAC’s members. | The Chilean Accordion Institute are running Summer Accordion Courses in Ñuñoa, Santiago Province for all levels: beginner, intermediate, advanced or professional during January and February 2022. Their mission is to professionally train its students, to preserve and increase the cultural and heritage of music in Chile, develop research, composition and interpretation of various works of musical art. Courses include musical initiation, Brazilian music, direction and crafts as well as preparation for national or international competitions. Classes will be held in-person and online. | Stas Venglevski and thirty five musicians from all over the USA including seven youth Ensemble members will perform at the Houston Accordion Orchestra Retreat 2022 concerts on January 15th and 16th, 2022. The concerts will be held at Lutheran Churches in Houston, Texas. See posters for details. On January 15th, the concert will feature the music of Russia, France, Moldova, Finland, Azerbaijan, and the World Premiere of a new orchestra overture by Stas Venglevski. The orchestra will also perform “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Freddie Mercury. On January 16th, Stas Venglevski will perform a popular program of works by Rachmaninoff and Villa-Libos as well as Russian folk tunes.
