Ever Popular Accordion Cruise Held on World Accordion Day - Finlandby Kimmo Mattila President, Finnish Accordion Association |

  The Accordion Cruise by Suomen Harmonikkaliitto (SHL - Finland Accordion Association) for over 1,200 accordion enthusiasts, went ahead during World Accordion Day weekend (May 7th & 8th, 2022).The cruise was originally planned for the end of January 2022 and had to be postponed due to Covid-19. The cruise features a variety of live music, wonderful atmosphere, dancing, singing and joy! Finalists were selected for the Golden and Silver Harmonikka 2022 competition during the cruise. The finals will be held in Ikaalinen and televised live in July. Silver Harmonika finalists are: Saima Kairimo (Asikkala), Samuel Heikola (Pori), Sofia Sankari (Vihti), Kevin Niittyviita (Hollola), Joel Koivisto (Kokkola), Maija Liedes (Kokkokkola) and Venla Tiimonen (Punkharju). Golden Harmonica finalists are: Marko Haapapuro (Kolari,) Ronja Pehkonen (Jyväskylä), Saana Kastelli (Pyhäjoki), Johannes Koivisto (Kokkola), Ville Vehkalahti (Lavia) and Heidi Rintamäki (Pori).
