 Accordion virtuoso, veteran instructor, and West Coast pioneer of the electronic accordion, Lou Jacklich, has been selected to be the Honorary Director of the 2016 Cotati Accordion Festival (CAF). Mr. Jacklich’s outstanding full-time career as an accordionist spans over 70 years…and still counting! The considerable history of Lou including an eTracks mp3 album is online at: Lou Jacklich The 26th annual Cotati Accordion Festival will be August 20-21, 2016 at La Plaza Park in Cotati, California. This year’s Festival has a “Western" theme featuring: the Doo-Wah Riders, Debra Peters and the Love Saints and the Vivants. Accordion celebrities Jelena Milojevic, Cory Pesaturo, Michael Bridge, Sourdough Slim, Steve Balich Polka Band, Those Darn Accordions, and a host of others will be performing. A wide variety of regional and musical genera (e.g., Country, French musette, Gypsy jazz, Western, Blues, Cajun, Zydeco, and Latin) are in store. Roberta Cantow will show her new documentary, “Accordion’s Rising.” Sheri Mignano Crawford is organizing the Student Stage again this year. Other surprises are also planned including another wonderful grand finale! |
