1. Akkordeonfestival Lanzo, Turin - Italienby Christine Johnstone |
Das 1. Akkordeonfestival von Lanzo findet am 28. und 29. August 2021 in Lanzo Torinese, Turin, Italien, statt und wird von der Associazione MusicaeArtisti in Zusammenarbeit mit der Gemeinde Lanzo Torinese und der Fondazione Piemonte dal Vivo veranstaltet. Die Organisatoren planen, dass diese Veranstaltung, die ganz dem Akkordeon gewidmet ist, zu einem jährlichen Festival wird. Da 2021 der hundertste Geburtstag des großen Astor Piazzolla gefeiert wird, wird Massimo Signorini (Bild links) anlässlich der Präsentation des Buches "The Life and Music of Astor Piazzolla" der Autoren Maria Susana Azzi und Simon Collier auftreten. Im Rahmen der Veranstaltung werden auch die im Piemont tätigen Akkordeonbauer vorgestellt, die ihre Erfahrung und ihr Fachwissen den Konzertbesuchern zur Verfügung stellen, sowie Unternehmen, die sich auf den Bau und die Reparatur von Akkordeons spezialisiert haben und ihre Produkte vorstellen werden. |
Deutscher Musikwettbewerb 2022, Bonn - Deutschlandby Christine Johnstone |
Der Deutsche Musikwettbewerb 2022 findet vom 7. bis 19. März 2022 in Bonn statt und wird vom Deutschen Musikrat veranstaltet. Der Wettbewerb wird für eine Vielzahl von Instrumenten ausgeschrieben, darunter auch das Akkordeon. Der Deutsche Musikwettbewerb ist ein nationaler Wettbewerb für junge Berufsmusiker in Deutschland. Teilnehmen können Musikerinnen und Musiker mit einer professionellen Ausbildung (begonnenes oder abgeschlossenes Musikstudium), die die deutsche Staatsbürgerschaft besitzen. Kramfors Akkordeonfestival - Schwedenby Jörgen Sundeqvist |
Sundeqvist Musik und Kramfors Dragspelsklubb veranstalteten am 7. und 8. August 2021 ein großes Akkordeonfestival in Kramfors. Während des Festivals präsentierte Sundeqvist Musik zusammen mit Karlssons Musik eine Akkordeonausstellung, die etwa 60 neue und gebrauchte Akkordeons, Taschen, Gurte, Mikrofone, Noten usw. umfasste. Über 500 Besucher nahmen an der Veranstaltung teil und genossen eine Vielfalt an Akkordeonmusik in allen Formen, sowie die Ausstellung. Viele bekannte Akkordeonisten traten an diesem Tag auf, darunter Jörgen Sundeqvist, Päivi Mettälä, Lars Karlsson, Leo Florin, Bröderna Lindkvist und andere. Ein besonderer Gast war der Präsident der CIA und Präsident von Scandalli Accordions, Mirco Patarini aus Castelfidardo, Italien. Mirco überreichte ein besonderes Geschenk aus Castelfidardo für das einzigartige Akkordeonarchiv hier in Kramfors. Das Geschenk (Bild oben links) war ein besonderes kleines Akkordeon aus Holz mit einer Uhr im Balg. Das Festival endete mit einem Konzert in der Gudmundrå-Kirche in Kramfors am Sonntagabend mit Auftritten von Mirco Patarini, Jörgen Sundeqvist, Päivi Mettälä, Lars Karlsson und Leo Florin. Das Festival war ein großer Erfolg und die Organisatoren planen eine Wiederholung im nächsten Jahr. |

Künstlerbewerbungen für das jährliche Fairbridge Festival, das vom 22. bis 24. April 2022 in Marmion, Perth, stattfindet und von Folkworld Inc. präsentiert wird, sind jetzt möglich. Das Festival bietet eine vielfältige Auswahl an musikalischen Darbietungen, Kunst, Tanz, Workshops und ein Jugendprogramm. Die Organisatoren fördern auch Vorträge, Straßenkünstler, Zirkusartisten, Wellness-Aktivitäten, Tanzvorführungen usw. Die Bewerbungsfrist endet am 27. September 2021 |

Alain Papineaus Windfall-Spende an das A World of Accordions Museum - USAby Harley Jones |
A World of Accordions Museum gibt stolz den Erhalt der antiken Akkordeonsammlung von Alain Papineau bekannt, die aus 350 der seltensten und schönsten Instrumente aus dem Jahrhundert nach Cyril Demians erstem Patent (1829) besteht. Diese Spende, die zu den 1.400 Freirohr-Aerophonen hinzukommt, die derzeit im Erdgeschoss des Museums ausgestellt sind, und den 750 in der Reserve im Harrington ARTS Center, bestätigt die Institution Superior, Wisconsin, als die größte und umfassendste der Welt. Etwa 70 der Neuerwerbungen werden temporär im Bereich „Sonderausstellungen“ des Konzerthauses ausgestellt, nach Vereinbarung besichtigt. Diese spektakuläre unerwartete Akquisition hat eine jahrzehntelange Geschichte. Bei einem Treffen im Jahr 1997 traf der Museumskurator Helmi Strahl Harrington, Ph.D., den Akkordeon-Enthusiasten Alain Papineau (Architekt der Weltbank) und besichtigte seine Sammlung in Washington D.C. Ein Vierteljahrhundert später bot Papineau Harrington die Gaben seiner lebenslangen Recherchen an, von denen die meisten Instrumente nicht in organologischen Referenzen beschrieben sind. Zusammen mit den Akkordeons und Ziehharmonikas waren 90 Kisten mit Musik und unterstützendem Referenzmaterial, das die Bücher- und Aufnahmebibliotheken des Museums erheblich ergänzen wird. Dies ist nur der jüngste große Beitrag zum Bestand des Museums, zu dem auch zahlreiche Musikernachlässe gehören. |

The Louise Jallu Quartet entertained at the Crest Jazz Festival in Crest, South Eastern France on August 7th, 2021. The quartet includes Louise Jallu (bandoneon), Mathias Lévy (violin), Grégoire Letouvet (piano) and Alexandre Perrot (double bass). The event included a monumental chandelier that emerges from behind the stage in the slowness of a sensitive tango. On its branches, musicians from “Trance Express” swayed above the audience (see picture above). Both groups performed an original program, between “Heaven and Earth” which included aerial prowess and the concert. |

Accordionist Ladislav Horák performed in duo with Petr Nouzovský (cello) at a Gala concert dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Argentine composer, Astor Piazzolla on August 11th. The duo performed works from their CD "Vivat Tango", which features Libertango, Oblivion, Ave Maria, S.V.P. Finale and others. The event was held at the J.K. Tyla Theater in Trebon, Czech Republic and also featured Martina Kociánová (vocals and presentations). |

Postponed: Festival Avsenik 2021 - Sloveniaby Christine Johnstone |
Despite the fact that preparations for the 2021 Avsenik Festival (one of the biggest events of the year in Begunje na Gorenjskem, Slovenia), were in full swing, organisers have regrettably announced that the festival is postponed until next year: August 26th to 28th, 2022. Organisers of the 2021 International Trieste Tango Festival regret to announce that once again they must cancel their event, due to be held in Trieste, Italy next month. The 2020 festival was also cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic and now it has happened again this year. The 2022 event is planned for September next year. Video: Alex Meixner performs Burgettstown Polka, a tune originally composed and performed by Stan Blout on his "Polka Sounds of the 70s" album on Delta International Records. It has been a popular Button Box polka amongst American Slovenian musicians, as it's included in the widely distributed "Playing the Button Box Accordion Slovenian Style Book 1 by Al Jevsevar". Alex’s version is influenced by the arrangement Steve Meisner recorded on his landmark "Jammin' Polkas" album in 1988. |

Ksenija Sidorova will perform in Kaposvar, Hungary from August 14th to 16th, 2021, before travelling to perform in Italy, Netherlands and Romania in September. Ksenija performs a varied program “from Bach to Piazzolla, from Efrem Podgaits and Vaclav Trojan, to Erkki-Sven Tuur and George Bizet, as well as new accordion concertos composed especially for her.” See poster above for details of her live concert schedule for 2021. The Daniele Falasca Septet will perform at the Abruzzo Live Festival on 16th August, 2021 at 6pm. This will be an outdoor concert at Cascata dei tre ponti (Three Bridges Waterfall) in Cagnano Amiterno, L’Aquila, Abruzzo, Italy, organised by the Comune di Cagnano Amiterno. The group includes Daniele Falasca (accordion), Arturo Valiante (piano), Gianluca Caporale (sax and clarinet), Martin Diaz (guitar), Marcello Manuli (bass), Glauco Di Sabatino (drums) and Bruno Marcozzi (percussion). Their musical program includes jazz, Latin jazz, be bop, modern tango, gypsy rhythms, samba and salsa flavors. It is recommended that attendees bring a mat or towel to sit on the lawn. Pavel Shamatur, is an Honored Artist of the Republic of Karelia, artist of the National Song and Dance Ensemble of Karelia "Kantele", leader and soloist of the orchestra, and laureate of all-Russian and international competitions. The 2021, 30th annual Cotati Accordion Festival will take place on September 25th and 26th this year in La Plaza Park, Cotati, California, USA. This year's theme was to celebrate the 30th Annual milestone by riding the wave of the new "Roaring 20's". However, because of the stress and suffering so many have had to endure the last two years, organisers have decided to focus on "bringing joy back to our lives". The festival will include 2 days of music, dancing, food, beer, wine and fun from 9.30am to 8pm on 7 stages, both days. A play entitled “Accordions” will take place on the stage of the Theater in the South-West, Moscow on October 3rd, 2021. Duration - 1 hour 40 minutes. The play features a mixture of all kinds of musical compositions, from waltz to quadrille (a dance that was fashionable in the late 18th and 19th century in Europe). August gelten neue Regelungen für Reisen nach Deutschland. Ab dem 1. August 2021 werden Risikogebiete in zwei Kategorien eingeteilt: Hochrisikogebiete und Virusvariantengebiete. Die Kategorie der „einfachen“ Risikogebiete entfällt. August 2021 sind alle Reisenden – unabhängig davon, ob sie sich in einem Risikogebiet oder Virusvariantengebiet aufgehalten haben oder nicht – verpflichtet, das Ausbleiben einer Infektion mit dem Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 nachzuweisen (Impfung, Test -, Erholungsnachweis). Hinweis: Die strenge Testpflicht für Personen, die ein Virusvariantengebiet betreten, besteht weiterhin. Kinder unter 12 Jahren sind von der Nachweispflicht befreit.
