| La primera orquesta digital de acordeón en el mundo, La ‘MusicTech Digital Accordion Orchestra’ ha nacido siendo la primera orquesta compuesta enteramente de 50 acordeones Music Maker Digital, esta primera actuación va a ser un acontecimiento histórico. El concierto inaugural tendrá lugar en el Teatro Astra de Castelfidardo el 15 de Octubre de 2008 a las 21.15h durante el 33 Festival Internacional del Acordeón y seguro que será de gran interés para los directores de orquesta de acordeón, los intérpretes, los profesores y los entusiastas del acordeón en general. Esta histórica actuación será sin duda de gran interés para los profesores de acordeón, los artistas intérpretes o ejecutantes y los aficionados que asistieron al Festival Internacional de Acordeón de Castelfidardo en octubre.  El lanzamiento mundial del nuevo Roland FR1 se celebró en el Salón de La Musique en París el 12 de Septiembre. El Roland FR-1 establece un nuevo estándar en el aprendizaje y la actuación en directo, con un peso de sólo 5.5kg, con sus pequeñas dimensiones, siendo perfecto para jóvenes principiantes y el uso en las escuelas de música. El V-Accordion es el instrumento más pequeño de su clase para proporcionar tecnología de modelado digital en un diseño tradicional de acordeón, con bajos libres, pero muy compacto. El Roland FR1 ideal para: músicos de gira, bandas, intérpretes o ejecutantes que bailan mientras tocan, o personas mayores que no pueden utilizar un acordeón de tamaño completo. Este instrumento puede provocar grandes cambios en el mundo del acordeón con todas estas características además de un especial bajo precio diseñado para atraer a los jóvenes a aprender el acordeón. El modelo también se presentará en el festival organizado por Roland Europa Central que se celebrará el 27 de septiembre en el espectacular lugar de celebración de la Torre Eiffel en París, donde habrá otra introducción y se hablará en profundidad del FR-1. |

 La Roland Corporation EE.UU. se enorgullece de anunciar los finalistas elegidos para competir en el Festival de Roland V-Accordion de EE.UU. En orden alfabético, se trata de Steve Albini, Iskra Alexandrov, Mark Kenneth, Alex Lavruk, Ivan Milev, Joseph Natoli y Murl Allen Sanders. El director del festival es Ron Lankford. Este evento, que se celebrará en la sede de Roland Corporation de EE.UU., 5100 S. Oriental Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90040, el 20 de septiembre, reunirá a algunos de los más talentosos acordeonistas.  The weekend September 5th to 7th 2008 saw the first Roland V-Accordion Weekend to be held in the UK at St Audries Bay in Somerset.A weekend of workshops and concerts, devoted to the Roland V-Accordion, was held followed by a competition to decide the UK entrant to the world-wide Festival to be held in Rome, Italy on November 8th. The clear winner of the competition was Johnny Lee Leslie, who was presented with a certificate and a new FR-7b V-Accordion by Guy Small of Roland UK (photo above). The winner of the Junior Competition was Soraya O'Connor, who received an FR-2 as her prize. Other graded open competitions were also held, featuring the V-Accordion, with prizes provided by The Accordion Shop, Trevani, and Carillon Studios. Following the competition, a group of V-Accordion players assembled for the accompanying photo - 16 players in one picture. Group of the Roland-Event Pariticipants ...here some names of the group: In the front with the button Roland is Johnny-Lee Leslie. Immediately behind him, with the dark glasses -John Romero, organiser of the event. On the front row (left to right) in the cap- Frank Moore and several of the Langton/Petulengro ladies (including the Junior Champion, Soraya O'Connor) . Mike Oregan on the far right. On the back row, directly above John Romero, is Robert Langton. Two places to the right of Robert , behind the white accordion, is Gennaro Fiondella (winner of the Senior Championship). The event was organised by John and Jackie Romero of Carillon Studios in conjunction with Roland UK. |

 On Saturday September 13th the Roland Italy finals of the Roland Virtual Accordion competition take place at the Puccini Room in the Conservatory of Milan, from 12 noon onwards until 9pm. Contestants have all previously passed the preliminary phase. The Jury members are Sergio Scappini (picture right), Emanuale Spantaconi and Diego Montrone, and presenting the evening part of the competition will be the television journalist Federica Zanella. The winner of the Italian national final will participate in the international final in Rome on November 8th. |

 The Vaasa City Orchestra from Finland conducted by Hannu Koivula, will tour next week in Washington and Oregon. The program includes orchestral music by Finnish composers Jean Sibelius, Toivo Kuula and Väinö Raitio.Finnish concert accordionist Veli Kujala is the featured soloist of the tour. He will perform with the Vaasa City Orchestra the accordion concerto ‘D'n'A’, by Markus Fagerudd, and three pieces by Brazilian composer Egberto Gismonti, orchestrated for accordion and sinfonietta by Veli Kujala. The tour dates are: September 16th - Seattle Town Hall, Seattle September 17th - High School Auditorium, Bellingham September 19th - Lewis and Clark College, Portland September 20th - Liberty Theater, Astoria, Oregon |

 Following a National Qualifying Round being a series of video auditions which took place between April and September, the semi-finalists have been selected to take part in the Roland National Finals on September 25th, 7pm, at the Hansa Haus German Canadian Club, 6650 Hurontario St, Mississauga, ON L5W-1N3.John Lettieri (picture left), winner of the 1st Canadian Roland V-Accordion Festival with an electrifying medley performance, will attend the 2008 National Finals as an honorary jury member and will take to the stage once again for a performance that is sure to be one of the night’s highlights. The 1st place winner of the National Finals will receive a Roland FR-7 V-Accordion and an all expenses paid trip to take part in the International Finals on November 7th and 8th in Rome, Italy. |

| On September 19th, at the Antilope 2008 Festival in La Chaux de Fonds, Switzerland, Italian accordionist Claudio Jacomucci and choreographer Kathleen Delaney will present their new work ‘Cool Memories’ which pays homage to the French philosopher Jean Baudrillard, who passed away recently. The first part of the work was presented at Synthese 2007, a festival for Electro-acoustic Music in Bourges, France. ‘Cool Memories’ is about a composition for accordion, dance, pre-recorded sounds and projected images. Next concerts by Claudio Jacomucci (‘Wonderlands’, ‘Infernal Circles’ and ‘Cool Memories’, with Kathleen Delaney) will be: November 6th at Stoa Theatre, Helsinki, Finland. November 8th at the Sibelius Academy, Finland for the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the accordion class, November 14th in Krakow, Poland. |
