Editor’s Note:

Rob HowardReaders will notice that many of the new items this week concern Roland competitions and digital instruments.

This does not indicate any bias or change in news reporting policy by Accordions Worldwide, but merely demonstrates the considerable international commitment and promotion that is taking place.

Similarly the news item about the MusicTech Digital Accordion Orchestra.

Roland’s FR1 (5.5kg) World Launch - France

Roland FR1 World LaunchThe World launch of the new Roland FR1 was held at Salon de La Musique in Paris on September 12th. The Roland FR-1 sets a new standard in learning and live performance, weighing only 5.5kg, with its small dimensions.

The V-Accordion is the smallest instrument of its kind to provide powerful digital modeling technology in a traditional accordion design, with free bass, yet very compact. The Roland FR1 is ideal instrument for: strolling musicians; bands where the performer dances while playing, young and elderly people unable to use a full sized accordion.

This instrument can make major changes to the accordion world, having all these features at interesting conditions, designed to attract young people to learning the accordion.

The festival organized by Roland Central Europe to be held on September 27th at the spectacular venue of the Eiffel Tower in Paris will display all the features of the new FR-1.
