 On Friday May 26th, 7.30pm to 10.30pm, there is an evening of Irish, Scottish, Old Time, Country & Western music, song and dancing with the Donal Ring Ceili Band (from Ireland), the Bruce Lindsay Band, and Irish Shand Morino accordionist Dermot Lyons. This takes place at the Woodlands Hotel, 13 Panmure Terrace, Broughty Ferry DD5 2QL, Dundee. Admission is £5.The Donal Ring Ceili Band, from Cork in the Irish Republic, was founded by accordionist Donal Ring in 1958, and is still going strong. Donal Ring – an admirer and contemporary of Sir Jimmy Shand – plays the Shand Morino 3-row British chromatic accordion. Long well established in Ireland through gigs, recordings, radio and television appearances, Donal and his band performed have overseas many times in the UK, Canada, Holland, and other places. |
