Décès de Mario Moreschi, Castelfidardo – Italieby Accordions Worldwide |
 Avec une grande tristesse, AWW a le regret d’annoncer le décès de Mario Moreschi, qui est décédé dans la nuit du 10 août après une courte maladie. Il été âgé de 65 ans. Mario était un membre fondateur de la compagnie Pasco et le petit-fils de Giuseppe Moreschi. Les accordéons Moreschi ont fêté leur centième anniversaire l’année dernière. Nos pensée vont à sa famille en ces moments difficiles. |

En tant qu’interprète, il a obtenu le premier au concours de Klingenthal en 1969 et a, depuis lors, joué dans de nombreuses salles de concerts en Russie et dans de nombreux pays. | Le Deschamps Channel est une nouvelle forme de TV réalité et d’éducation musicale où vous pouvez voir en direct les master class d’accordéon de Frédéric Deschamps, en direct, exactement comme ils se passent, ou alors les visionner plus tard en vidéo, dans la bibliothèque de vidéos où tous les cours restent disponibles en tout temps. L’horaire des master class en direct sera annoncé sur le site web de Frédéric Deschamps. Par exemple, cette semaine, du lundi 15 au vendredi 19 août, entre 18h30 et 22h30 (heure de Paris), vous pourrez entendre les master class par : Christel Sautaux (Suisse), Evin Kelly (Irlande), Jose Dias and Natanael Teixeira (Portugal), Alexander Kolovski (Macédoine), Matthias Matzke (Allemagne), Grayson Masefield (Nouvelle Zélande),ainsi que des cours par Skype avec des artistes internationaux. Les cours sont donnés en anglais, français et italien. Les spectateurs peuvent également participer en posant des questions sur le chat du Channel et Frédéric Deschamps répondra en direct par la video.  Par un temps magnifique et durant les vacances scolaires, les membres de l’orchestre d’accordéon Schlüchttal Gurtweil e.V ont joué pour le marriage de Christian et Angelica dans la magnifique église de Weilheim.Le jeune couple et leurs invites n’ont pu se retenir de bouger durant ces morceaux choisis avec soin, tells un choral, un rock ou même du Flashdance. La performance de l’orchestre a été saluée par un tonnerre d’applaudissements, surtout lorsqu’ils ont interprété une pièce secrètement préparée pour le jeune couple. e-mail: vorstand@sao-gurtweil.de |

 Photos ci-dessus: Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi et Luca Lucini, Orquestra e Coral de Alcoba menée par Anibal Freire dans le magnifique Monastère d'Alcobaça, un site du patrimoine mondial et l'une des sept merveilles du Portugal.The XV International Accordion Week included the XVI National Trophy of Accordion, with special concerts and events, which made this event one of the best ever Trofeo Nationale. It was a great success! The 2011 Trofeo Nationale offered about 40 events involving about 40 young accordionists from north to south with a very strong educational component, lots of encouragement and a warmth presence amongst all the participants. As usual, a master class took place, this time by Mario Stefano Pietrodarchi as well as high-class concerts. A highlight was the closing concert with João Barradas (photo de droite) and the Tango Duo (Pietrodarchi/Luccini). The Association of Accordion and Orchestra of Alcobaça have, once again, produced a high quality international event for accordion in Portugal, greatly enjoyed by all those who attended. |

 During the 5th Accordion Art Festival Pineto special concerts with Igor Zavadsky (Ukraine) and the great Friedrich Lips (Russia) took place. The international jury included artists such as Zorica Karakutovska, Frederic Deschamps, Herbert Scheibenreif as well as some of the best known Italian masters.Picture left, Artistic Director Renzo Ruggieri and Friedrich Lips. The Orpheus Awards (annual critics' prizes) went to: Caesare Chiacchiaretta, El Alma de Piazzolla (Quartet Suarez Paz) for the classical accordion, Daniele Di Bonaventura Sine Nomine (Harmonia Mundi) for the accordion and jazz, Bube Sapravie, B. Petrus Spaghetti Sauce (Most Records) for World Music, and a special Orpheus career award to Friedrich Lips. The Italian selection for the next Trophée Mondial CMA (Pineto, September 13th to 18th) and the CIA Coupe Mondiale (China, October 1st to 6th) has accepted eight candidates amongst the classical categories, and virtuoso categories: Sciammarella Simone, Francesco Bracci, Domenico D'Annunzio, Bosic Lorenzo, Andrea Di Giacomo, Matthew Petronio, George Albanian, and Antonio Simeone. The National Final of Roland V-Accordion has seen the triumph of Pietro Adragna in the senior and Andrea Di Giacomo in the junior category. The Artistic Direction was Renzo Ruggieri, and Salvatore Cauteruccio was the President of the festival, and Claudio Azzaro the Secretary. | Dr. Robert Young McMahan (accordion) and Dr. Paul Cohen (soprano saxophone) presented the World Premiere of Dr. McMahan's composition, "Romp II" at the Tenri Cultural Center. The premiere was held during the 17th Annual 2011 AAA Master Class and Workshop Series organized and hosted by AAA Board member, Dr. William Schimmel. The composition was very enthusiastically received by the audience. During the performance, the audience enjoyed the interwoven melodies of saxophone and accordion and a contemporary sound that was exciting yet lyrical at times. |

| Depuis déjà 9 ans, Les Rencontres Musicales des Dores ont intégré l'accordéon pour leur stages d'été avec comme maîtres de stage Domi Emorine et Roman Jbanov. La première semaine d'août a réuni 6 pays pour ce stage: La France, l'Allemagne, la Belgique, la Suisse, la Russie et le Kazakhstan. Vu le grand nombre d'inscrits, Domi Emorine et Roman Jbanov ont fait appel à un assistant, Félicien Brut, pour que chacun des stagiaires bénéficie d' une heure de cours par jour avec les professeurs differents. Le stage etait ouvert à tous les niveaux et à tous les âges. Differents styles de musique ont été abordés, variété, musette classique et jazz. Le stage se tenait dans les locaux du Casino municipale de La Bourboule. Le deuxième jour, le duo Paris Moscou a présenté son nouvel album en concert écrit par Franck Angelis. le public a egalement participé au voyage musical proposé par le duo entre la Russie et France, en imaginant la Troïka dans l'Hiver de Shalaiev, et en chantant des airs populaires russes et français. La fin du stage etait suivi du bilan vidéo du premier et dernier jour où les èlèves ont vu leur progrès effectués durant le stage puis les stagiaires ont fait le concert de fin de stage dans la salle de la mairie du Mont Dore. Tout le monde est parti satisfait de leur semaine musicale avec l'intention de revenir dans d'autre stages, organisés dans d'autres endroits. |

 ‘A Jimmy Shand Dance Party’, an LP recorded in 1955 by Jimmy Shand and his Scottish Dance Band, has been released on CD. In the 1950s the legendary button accordionist Jimmy Shand was at the height of his popularity, and his recordings and broadcasts personified Scottish dance music for people in many countries around the world. A most prolific recording artiste, Shand’s LPs, EPs and single releases were eagerly sought, and his music was always cleanly played and made cheerful listening.  Along with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra is the only other fully professional Symphony Orchestra in New Zealand. During the past week, they have been performing music to the 1921 classic silent movie ‘The 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse’, about the life of a Tango instructor (played by Rudolf Valentino).Under the baton of Sir William Southgate, the orchestra performs through the entire movie. Throughout, their timing has to be exact, to combine with the movie, which certainly kept the conductor and orchestra on their toes! A standout feature was accordionist Tatiana Lanchtchikova. As well as being a vital part of the orchestra, on many occasions she performed solo, which was extremely well received by the sellout audiences, which averaged over 1,500 a night. |

 On September 24th the Serbian Duo of Petar Maric and Aleksandar Nikolic will perform a concert as part of the 36th Castelfidardo Premio Concorso & Festival Internazionale Fisarmonica in Italy.Peter Maric (accordion), winner of Coupe Mondiale and Trophée Mondial classical and entertainment categories and Aleksandar Nikolic (bandoneon) Astor Piazzolla Music Award winner and leader of the highly regarded Beltango Quintet will perform a program titled "Buttons and Bellows, Finally Together" in reference to "After 15 years of collaboration, they finally meet each other on the concert stage" ..... The program will include compositions by Franck Angelis, Zolotariev, Voytenko, Vlasov, Galliano, Piazzolla and by Aleksandar Nikolic. |

 Well known Manfred Leuchter has gathered a range of musicians around him (with whom he has worked with in recent years) to form an "All-Star" band for a big open-air concert on 20th August in Burg Wilhelmstein in Würselen (near Aachen) in Germany.This concert is designed to compliment the performance of Manfred Leuchter with other musicians including specially flown-in guests: guitarist Ian Melrose from Scotland, NY-based Syrian clarinet virtuoso Kinan Azmeh, vocalist Dima Orsho from Damascus, the Iranischen percussion-magician Afra Mussawisade and of course the stellar Leuchter band of Antoine Pütz (bass), Steffen Thormählen (drums), Christoph Titz (trombone) und Sebastian Pottmeier (saxophone).  Accordionist Mario Tacca and vocalist Mary Mancini are performing once again at Peekskill's Italian Festa, New York, on Friday August 12th at 6.30pm and Sunday August 14th at 2.30pm. Each set will be an hour-long performance.
