| Video: Black Pencil Ensemble performing “The Count” a track from their upcoming CD “Come Out Caioni”, which includes works from the Caioni Codex collection. The Black Pencil Ensemble will perform at a Friday Night Concert series at the Kunstlinie Almere Flevoland in Almere, Netherlands beginning on September 24th, 2021 at 8.15pm. Black Pencil, which features accordionist Marko Kassl will perform works by Bach, Vivaldi and Debussy, “interspersed with surprising forays into gypsy music, dances, music from long ago and brand new compositions.” In addition you will hear masterpieces of classical music from the centuries-old Caioni Codex. In the eighties, a bricklayer found this collection of music in a wall of a shelter where monks had hidden it from the Russian soldiers during World War II. Black Pencil chose 18 pieces from the more than three hundred-year-old Caioni Codex, which contains a collection of pieces of music with an unprecedented variety of styles.
