Estudiantes de Klingenthal Actuarán en el “Cittá di Castelfidardo”- Italiaby Holda Paoletti-Kampl |
 Durante el próximo “Citta di Castelfidardo 2009”, los acordeonistas Anna Katharina Schau y Doreen Babin actuarán en dicho evento. Anne y Doreen fueron invitados a Castelfidardo gracias a un premio especial otorgado en la 46 edición del Certamen Internacional de Klingenthal 2009.Anne Catherine Schau ganó el primer premio de la “Kleinen Tagen der Harmonika” en Klingenthal y el “German Accordon Music Prize”. El Profesor de esta joven acordeonista de tan solo 14 años de edad es Traude Hepfner en la Music School en Flöha. Doreen Babin (Leubsdorf), ganó este año el “German Accordon Music Award” además de otras importantes competiciones. Doreen participó en la 46 edición del concurso de Klingenthal en la categoría 6 de Virtuoso Entertainment Music. Sus respectivos repertorios consisten principalmente en el estilo musette, tango y música folclórica. Tanto Doreen como Anne participarán en el “Citta di Castelfidardo 2009” como invitados y concursantes. |

 La 60 Edición de todos los concursos de acordeón Escoceses y Fiddle darán lugar en Perth (Escocia) el 31 de Octubre. La competición comenzará a las 9 de la mañana en la sala de conciertos y otras salas de la zona, llevándose acabo el concurso de todos los participantes Senior Escoceses por la tarde.Este año cabe destacar el concierto del sábado por la tarde con Pearl Fawcett-Adriano más los acordeonistas Jimmy Cassidy y Craig Paton. El domingo por la tarde, Los Alexander Brothers actuarán junto a los acordeonistas Michael Philip y Alex Mclntyre y su banda de baile Escocés. Ambos shows estarán apoyados por la orquesta de acordeón de Bill Wilkie y los grupos de baile de Julie Young y Sandra Wright.  La décima edición de esta convención (Las Vegas International Accordion Convention) dará lugar del 19 al 23 de octubre en el Gold Coas Hotel y Casino,4000 West Flamingo Road, Las Vegas, Nevada.Los artistas invitados son Art Van Damme, Dick Contino, Gina Brannelli, Pete Barbutti, Peter y Maky Soave, Pete Contino, Stas Venglevski, Silvia Marie, Mario Tacca, Mary Mancini y Michael Bridge. La orquesta internacional de acordeón de Las Vegas ensayará y actuará bajo la dirección de Joan Cochran Sommers.  El 17 de Octubre a las 7:30 pm, Akkorde-On-Stage presentará al acordeonista Vladimir Zubitsky en concierto. El recital se llevará acabo en la Musikerheim der TMK, Leopoldskron-Moos, Schwarzgrabenweg 1b, 5020 Salzburg. El precio de las entradas es de 17 Euros para adultos y 13 Euros para jóvenes.  Well-known accordion artist Yuri Shishkin from Rostov-on-Don, Russia, recently made concerts in France in the cities of Saint-Savinien and Surgeres. He performed a solo program and also duets with the famous French accordionist Elodie Soulard. On October 6-7, Yuri Shishkin will hold master classes at the Warsaw Conservatory, Poland and on 9th October he will perform a concert in Vilanov Palace, Warsaw.  The band Filochards, based in Calais, has released a CD, titled ‘Filochards’, featuring mainly songs with a theme of social consciousness.Filochards’ line-up includes Thibault Dille – accordion, Claude Vadasz – vocals and acoustic guitar, Joachim Wannyn – vocals, David Laisné - clavier and accordion, Alexis Thérain – electric guitar, Nicolas Mahieux – bass, and Charles Duytschaever – drums. Accordionist Alejandro Barcelona is one of several session musicians also contributing to the recordings. On October 17th, 5pm, the band will perform numbers from their new CD at the church of Saint-Sauveur, boulevard JB Lebas, Lille. |

| A concert featuring the Paris-Moscow Duo (Domi Emorine and Roman Jbanov), and the local "duoRETRO"(Håvard Svendsrud – accordion, and Kay Hartvigsen – double bass), takes place at The Olso Concert Hall, Oslo, on October 15th, 7.30pm. "duoRETRO" specialise in French and Italian music. Accordionist Håvard Svendsrud will perform both solo and in the duo during the concert on October 15th proposing.‘Asturias’, by Isaac Albeniz (music played by Håvard and by duoRETRO). In 2007 the "duoRETRO" launched their first CD, ‘Retro and up to date’, an album of French musette music The Paris-Moscow Duo will perform a mixture of classical music, entertainment music and world music. Their program will include ‘La Campanella’, by Paganini, ‘La Valse a Margaux’, composed by Richard Galliano, ‘Valse Variete’, by Egil Hauge, and much more. |

 The annual International Accordion Festival takes place from October 9th to 11th at La Villita Historic Arts Village, S. Alamo St., E. Nueva, San Antonio, Texas. Admission is free.Guest performers at this year's festival include Joel Guzman & Sarah Fox, Jaime Y los Chamacos, Mingo Saldivar y los Cuatro Espadas, Buckwheat Zydeco, The Ivan Milev Band, Miguel Afonso y su Grupo, Georges Lammam Ensemble, Guy Klucevsek, Daniel Diaz & Lia Davis, The Zydepunks, Jo Miller & Her Burly Roughnecks, and Hugh Morrison & Lonestar Stout. Held in the beautiful downtown Riverwalk area on the historic grounds of La Villita (3 blocks south of the Alamo on South Alamo Street), the International Accordion Festival features concerts, workshops, open mic sessions and accordion jams. On three stages, accordion entertainers from around the globe wil be playing everything from Panamanian pindin to Parisian musette, from Balkan to Basque, from Czech polka to Creole zydeco, from Americana to Acadiana and much more.  A concert titled ‘Grand Musical Charity Evening’, organised by Harry Kipling, takes place on Thursday October 15th, 7pm, at The Shire Hall, Howden, Yorkshire DN14 7BJ. All profits go to the St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice. Accordionists performing include Oleg Sharov (Russia), Harry Hussey, Sam Pirt and The Hut People, banjo player Bill Sables, plus members of the Lindum Accordion Club. Doors open at 4pm, and there will be a trade show that includes Geoff Holter Accordions and Rob Howard’s four volumes of ‘An A to Z of the Accordion’ books, a free buffet and a licensed bar.  Spanish band Alboka, featuring accordionist Joxan Goikoetxea, perform as international guests at the 16th William Kennedy Piping Festival, November 12th to 15th, at venues in Armagh, Northern Ireland.On Saturday November 14th, 1pm, Alboka perform in a concert that includes other international guests at The Stage Bar & Bistro, Market Place Theatre.
