 В субботу 16 октября пройдет финал 4 международного конкурса исполнителей на цифровых аккордеонах Roland. Спонсором конкурса выступает компания Roland Europe. Подробную информацию о предстоящем мероприятии, участниках и членах жюри можно получить, зайдя по ссылке: 2010 Rome Festival. Ежедневные отчеты начнут появляться online, начиная с 15 октября (пятница). Video Live Streaming starts at 21:00 Hours Rome Time, 16 October, (Moscow time 16 October 23:00 hrs), online at 2010 Rome Festival. Конкурс пройдет в Риме в престижном зале Auditorium Parco della Musica, Sala Sinopoli. Участники финала – 14 победителей национальных конкурсов Roland. Впервые в истории конкурса в финале будет представлен участник из России – Алексей Черномордиков. Кроме него в финал 2010 вышли Emmanuel De Baets (Бельгия), Ricardo Luiz Marcelo (Бразилия), Jelena Milojevic (Канада), Ms. Hanzhi Wang (Китай), Katariina Ahjoniemi (Финляндия), Nicolas Kock (Франция), Rudik Yakhin (Германия), Masahiro Ogawa (Япония), Julie Langton (Великобритания), Albaniese Giorgio (Италия), Pawel Janas (Польша), Miguel Angel Rumbo Cabezuela (Испания) и Christopher Gorton (США). Финалисты будут соревноваться перед лицом двойного жюри, в состав которогао войдут ведущие баянисты и аккордеонисты и журналисты. Лауреаты 1, 2 и 3 премий получат денежные призы и специальный приз от жюри журналистов The Ronald Lankford Journalists Award, вручаемый "музыканту, который лучше всех продемонстрировал дух и страсть цифрового аккордеона». Эта премия названа именем недавно умершего сотрудника Roland Corporation Рона Лэнкфорда (Ron Lankford), который принимал самое активное участие в работе корпорации. Ведущей мероприятия станет итальянская актриса, снимавшаяся в известных телесериалах Алессандра Беллини (Alessandra Bellini). Этому событию также окажет честь своим выступлением певица Линда – победительница фестиваля Сан-Ремо 2004, которой будет аккомпанировать известный итальянский джазовый аккордеонист Ренцо Руджиери (Renzo Ruggieri). Цифровые аккордеоны (V-Accordion), представленные 16 моделями, завоевали популярность среди молодежи благодаря международным звездам поп, рок-музыки, а также исполнителям латино и джаза. В ноябре 2009 года объем продаж цифровых инструментов достиг 10000, и Roland отпраздновал это событие, добавив X (латинская цифра 10) в название топовых моделей.  Каунасская Консерватория имени Ю.Груодиса была основана в 1920 году. Класс аккордеона открылся в Консерватории в 1949. В настоящее время на кафедре аккордеона учатся 20 студентов – выпускников детских музыкальных школ Литвы. Преподаватели Консерватории по классу аккордеона – G.Lukošienė, B.Rušėnienė, V.Rušėnas и I.Vaitkevičiūtė. Заведущая кафедрой аккордеона – Гражина Лукошиене (Gražina Lukošienė) – сама закончила Каунасскую Консерваторию имени Ю. Груодиса.Кафедра аккордеона Консерватории хорошо известна благодаря своей интенсиной творческой работе, прооводимой не только в Каунасе, но и по всей Литве и зарубежом. Преподаватели кафедры в 1996 году создали Каунасскую Аккордеонную Ассоциацию. Это сообщество объединило преподавателей аккордеона со всего Каунасского региона. Президентом Ассоциации является Гражина Лукошиене, а вице-президентами Миндаугас Лабанаускас (Mindaugas Labanauskas) и Бируте Рушениене (Birutė Rušėnienė). 25 сентября 2010 года прошел концерт кафедры аккордеона, посвященный 90-летию Каунасской Консерватории.  Тито Бернс (Tito Burns) – настоящее имя Натан Бернстайн – родился в 1921 году в Лондоне и умер недавно от рака в возрасте 89 лет. Бернс стал одним из первых британских послевоенных исполнителей-аккордеонистов и по окончании войны быстро стал хорошо известен зарубежом благодаря появлениям и выступлениям в еженедельной радио программе BBC ‘Accordion Club’ («Аккордеонный клуб»). В начале 1930-х Тито участвовал в конкурсах аккордеонистов и затем выступал с двумя известными в то время исполнителями Felix Mendelssohn и Lou Preager. После войны служил в ВВС Великобритании. За время своего визита (с 22 по 27 сентября) Мирко Патарини (Mirco Patarini) дал 2 концерта в переполненных залах в пристутствии множества преданных любителей аккордеона, которые посетили первый визит итальянского артиста, кроме того являющегося представителем одной из главных фабрик-производителей аккордеонов, расположенных в Кастельфидардо – Scandalli и Paolo Soprani). Концерты хорошую рекламировались организаторами, и, в связи с высочайшим интересом к этому мероприятию, Мирко также во время своего визита дал несколько мастер-классов и семинаров на темы как исполнительской техники, так и вопросов процесса производства инструментов, используемого Scandalli и Paolo Soprani. Уже планируется следующий визит (с концертами и семинарами) в Южную Корею, где популряность аккордеона стремительно растет. |

 ‘Øivind Farmen plays Scandinavian Accordion Favourites’ is a new CD, recorded in May 2010, containing melodious yet virtuosic pieces composed by some of the most famous Scandinavian accordionists, such as Arnstein Johansen, Henry Haagenrud, Andrew Walter and Toralf Tollefsen. Øivind Farmen carries this heritage with musical deference and charm on this recording of popular and principal Scandinavian accordion titbits.Øivind Farmen has been acknowledged on the international arena as a concert soloist within classical and contemporary music, and he has introduced audiences to his mesmerizing playing from China to the USA. His awards include winning the CMA ‘Trophée Mondial’ (1996) and the ‘Klingenthal International Accordion Competition’ (1993). Alongside his classical career, he has always played folk, varieté, and other accordion related music. Øivind's collaborators include internationally acclaimed performers such as trumpeter Ole Edvard Antonsen, violinist Elise Båtnes and tuba player Øystein Baadsvik, and in the accordion world he has toured as a duo with both Jörgen Sundeqvist and Lars Karlsson. ‘Øivind Farmen plays Scandinavian Accordion Favourites’ is a self-published CD, available directly from Øivind Farmen.  In 2002 the composer and pianist Jonathan Rutherford wrote a ‘Concerto for Classical Accordion and String Quartet’, which is available for performance. Interested parties should contact the composer.The concerto's duration is 45 minutes, and it is in 3 movements. It is scored for classical accordion and string quartet (or string orchestra) with a part for musical saw (or flute). There is a computer generated performance of the concerto on digital CD available at the Scottish Music Information Centre, City Halls, Candleriggs, Glasgow, G1 1NQ; T: +44 (0) 141 552 5222 email: info@scottishmusiccentre.com The composer Sally Beamish has said “The concerto is tremendous fun - very exciting - I haven't heard anything quite like it”. Jonathan Rutherford (born 1953) went to the Yehudi Menuhin School. His musical influences are mostly classical, but from 1967 influences such as Rogers and Hammerstein, the Beatles, Mahler, Peter Maxwell Davies and Led Zeppelin deeply affected him. He studied with Jacques Fevrier, Nadia Boulanger, Lennox Berkeley, Richard Rodney Bennett, and had one lesson with Benjamin Britten. After his school life he worked in West End theatre for “Annie” and “the Sound of Music” starring Petula Clark, and was a music director for the Royal Shakespeare Company. His composition “The Pied Piper of Hamelin” has been performed (in different performances) by Patricia Routledge, Colin Baker and Johnny Morris. One of his best works is “An Intake of Breath” which can be found in a beautiful performance recorded on CD at the Scottish Music Centre info@scottishmusiccentre.com Recently, he has become known for his “sensitive and highly accomplished piano recital work”. | "Accordion Magic and rousing applause" was the quote for Hungarian accordion virtuoso Zoltan Orosz and his Trio to describe their benefit concert in the hall of Newmarket, ontario, organized by the Canadian organization of the Knights of the Malta Cross. All proceeds from the concert were to assist people in disaster areas that have been hit by floods, including especially disadvantaged children.  Frank Swindell, from Rhyll, North Wales, and previously from Manchester, died on September 27th, aged 87. Frank played accordion, piano and organ, was a great accordion enthusiast, and attended all accordion events and festivals in England. He frequently visited Castelfidardo, Italy, where he was well known and had many friends. Accordionists Rob Howard and John Jones played at his funeral, which was also attended by Harry and Pat Hussey. |

Professor Owen Murray, assisted by his graduate students, offer young aspiring accordionists the opportunity of taking part in a free open master class. The session will conclude with a mini-concert.
