  Le Président de la CIA Mirco Patarini écrit: "j’ai le plaisir d’accueuillir des participants de nombreuses parties du monde pour la 71éme Coupe Mondiale qui se tiendra à Kaunas, Lithuanie, du 24 au 30 Septembre.Il y a environ 90 concurrents et 66 délégués internationaux représentants 25 différentes nations du monde entier et ceux qui assisteront pourront entendre des prestations musicales de concours au plus haut niveau. La ville de Kaunas, avec la Lithuanian National Accordionist's Union, Président Kazys Stonkus, Vice-Président Mindaugas Labanauskas, préparent un évènement exceptionnel. Le Président Patarini ajoute : “Pendant la Coupe Mondiale 2018, se tiendront également de magnifiques concerts, le "World Accordion Orchestra X" et les délégués de la CIA tiendront leur 140éme assemblée générale au cours de laquelle seront discutés de nombreux projets internationaux dont l’élection de plusieurs officiels de la CIA. Celles et ceux qui ne pourront assister à la Coupe Mondiale 2018, pourront voir des reportages quotidiens complets, des photos, infos et vidéos sur chaque candidat ainsi que le concert final des vainqueurs le samedi 30 septembre, tout ceci en ligne sur Coupe Mondiale. Au nom de la CIA, je m’apprête à accueillir les membres des jurys internationaux et les délégués du monde entier et souhaite bon courage aux candidats pour leurs dernières semaines de préparation”.   Le Conseil Municipal de Castelfidardo (Région de La Marche , Italie) en collaboration Avec l’Association touristique de Castelfidardo Pro Loco, organize le concours international PIF “Città di Castelfidardo” réservé aux accordéonistes solistes et groupes de musique classique et autre styles. La municipalité de Castelfidardo est dirigée par le Maire Roberto Ascani, le Castelfidardo Pro Loco par Ruben Cittadini, et le directeur artistique est Renzo Ruggieri. L’événement de tient à Castelfidardo (AN, Région de La Marche) du 9 au 16 septembre 2018, il est ouvert à tous accordéonistes. Intéressant pour beaucoup, Friedrich Lips, célébre artiste de l’accordéon classique moderne, tiendra un séminaire “La musique russe pour l’accordéon des dernières décennies” le 16 septembre à l’Auditorium Binci à 9h30.  Photo ci-dessus de gauche à droite : José Alfonso Maslucán Culqui - Président de l’Accordion Association of Perú, Patricia Balbuena – Ministre de la Culture du Pérou, Mirco Patarini, Marisol Espinoza Cruz – membre du Congrès et James Atkins - Président de Petroperú.Ils viennent de former l’ “Asociacion de Accordeonistas de Peru” (Association des accordéonistes du Pérou) qui a accueilli avec grand enthousiasme lors de son 1er concert international l’accordéoniste Mirco Patarini qui est aussi le Président de la CIA (Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes). L’événement présentait la nouvelle association nationale de l’accordéon ainsi qu’un concert avec des groupes locaux de musique éthnique et une masterclasse. Il était oragnisé avec la collaboration des autorités locales dont la ministre de la Culture Patricia Balbuena, le président de l’association sus-mentionnée Alfonso Maslucan et Marisol Espinoza Cruz, membre du congrès et figure politique importante du Pérou. Le concert se tenait à Lima au grand théâtre du centre culturel San Isidro et affichait complet. Mirco Patarini enchantait le public avec sa prestation dans différents styles musicaux, fidèle à l’objectif de promouvoir l’art la culture et la musique pour l’accordéon a travers aussi bien les répertoires traditionnels que de concert. Durant les discours de conclusion, Mirco Patarini invitait la nouvelle association “à candidater comme membre de la CIA avec l’espoir de voir des candidats péruviens lors des futures Coupes Mondiales, la plus ancienne et importante compétition d’accordéon”. Mirco Patarini se déclarait honoré de recevoir du Congrés de la République du Pérou un certificat de “reconnaissance à Mirco Patarini pour son appréciable et constant soutien à la promotion et la diffusion de la culture péruvienne et de l’accordéon”. Ce certificat était signé de Daniel Enrique Salaverry Villa (Président du Congrès) et de Marisol Espinoza Cruz qui remettait le prestigieux certificat à Mirco Patarini. Etaient également présents le propriétaire de LATAM airlines, l’Ambassadeur de Saint-Domingue, le Président de la Commission gouvernementale de la Culture et de nombreuses autres personnalités du Pérou. |

 La Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes (CIA) annonce l’édition du 10ème anniversaire du magnifique World Accordion Orchestra qui se tiendra dans le cadre de la prochaine 71ème Coupe Mondiale et la 14éme assemblée générale internationale des délégués de la CIA à Kaunas, Lithuanie.L’évènement sera accueilli par le membre lithuanien de la CIA, la Lithuanian National Accordionists's Union, du 24 au 30 septembre 2018, le concert du 10ème World Orchestra se tenant le dimanche 30 septembre. Fondé à Washington DC, en 2007 par la directrice musicale et membre honoraire de la CIA, la professeure Joan Sommers, le "World Accordion Orchestra X" donnera trois oeuvres de trois compositeurs américains : 1. Serenata de Leroy Anderson 2. Recuerdos de Amy Jo Sawyer 3. West Side Story - La CIA se joint à la célébration mondiale de 100éme anniversaire de la naissance de Leonard Bernstein. La cheffe d’orchestre Joan Sommers a reçu le titre de professeur émérite depuis sa retraite de l’Université du Missouri – Kansas City Conservatory of Music (USA), où elle a enseigné le programme diplomant d’accordéon pendant 40 ans. C’est une opportunité unique pour les accordéonistes de jouer avec un grand orchestre international lors de la Coupe Mondiale 2018 et d’expérimenter le plaisir de jouer sous la direction réputée de Joan C.  In pdf format sent to you by email.The Lilliput series by Ivano Battiston is not an accordion method but a collection of small musical forms, divided into five volumes, inspired by the Mikrokosmos by Béla Bartók and composed with the following didactic intents: - offer musical material - to the accordionist with a single note instrument - from the very first lessons up to the thresholds of a medium level preparation (fifth year of study); - bring the scholar closer to most musical forms and to a heterogeneous sound world; - lead the young accordionist towards a gradual exploration of the instrument, through an active participation in the problems of musical interpretation; - increase instrumental skills through learning based on the increase in the number of sounds; - introduce the scholar to the orchestral dimension of the accordion, also creating compositions inspired by the characteristics of the other musical instruments. The pieces can be played with any type of instrument provided with single notes.  I became the AAA Historian six months before the association’s 70th anniversary in 2008. It came as a shock to me when I was told that there had never been an official historian prior to myself and that there were no files, no organized photographs, no documents – nothing that was readily accessible to me. I had to start from scratch. I was totally determined to come up with a reasonable 70 year presentation for the July festival, so I turned to my wonderful mentor, Faithe Deffner. “I will help you”, said Faithe, and she certainly did!  ‘60 at Sixty’ is a new release from Sean Wilson. During nearly thirty years of recording and performing, the Irish accordion player and singer has accumulated a huge repertoire of songs. On this new three disc project he combines 6 new songs, 14 of his most memorable recordings, 20 songs that are not released on CD and a newly created DVD: ‘You Can't Turn Back The Years’. The DVD describes Sean's earliest days growing up around Lough Neagh in County Derry and his improbable but richly earned successes. He goes on to describe the highs and lows of his career and features his best performances on video. After nearly three decades entertaining global audiences, this release is the first time Sean features a compilation of his most popular songs and will be a great introduction to those who don't know his work so well.Sean Wilson, from Derry in Northern Ireland, began playing the accordion as a young boy when his father bought him an instrument. He joined a local ceili band, played at dances, then one night was prompted to sing a song, leading Sean to do more singing. This eventually led to a record deal, and over the years his prolific CD and DVD sales have been huge throughout Ireland, the UK, Australia and New Zealand. | The 11th Annual Noir Festival returns to East Vancouver September 14 – 16, 2018 at the Wise Hall. They have a full slate of talent lined up including singer and author Geoff Berner who is also billed as the patron Saint of the Accordion Noir movement. Geoff has participated in many of the festivals and is determined to show an entire generation of accordion punks that another, less bubbly, world is possible. Also taking part in the festival is legendary busker-king Jason Webley returning to the festival after a long absence who will be spinning yarns like a Russian sailor we hear. Also performing is Emchy who is inspired by 1920s cabaret music, murder ballads and Leonard Cohen. Saturday’s festivities include a Polka Party, so come on down and kick up your heels and dance. The festival kicks off Friday evening at 8:00 pm. Admission is $20. Advance tickets for Saturday’s dance party available through Brown Paper Tickets. |

 Scottish accordionist and singer Ronnie Ross entertains at Armstrong's Social Club, Grovehill Road, Beverley HU17 0ED, near Hull, on Saturday September 15th and Sunday 16th. On Saturday evening Ronnie Ross plays for ballroom and sequence dancing, and on Sunday afternoon performs a concert of Country, Scottish and East Listening music.Ronnie Ross, from Inverness in the Scottish Highlands, comes from a musical family. A self-taught accordionist, he is a resident entertainer in several hotels, and also owns a recording studio. He has recorded several CDs and DVDs, the most recent being a CD of Scottish accordion music, ‘Scottish Accordion Gems’. |

| The trio Kosmos concerts perform in concert on Saturday 15th, 7.30pm, at the Curry Rivel Music Club, St Andrew's Church, The Green, Curry Rivel, near Langport, Somerset. Kosmos are Harriet Mackenzie – violin, Meg Hamilton – viola, and Miloš Milivojevic – accordion. Serbian-born Miloš Milivojevic is a first prize winner at international competitions in Germany, France, Italy and Denmark. In Serbia he studied with Vojin Vasovic, and with Owen Murray at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he graduated and was awarded with Dip RAM. In 2007 he became the first accordionist ever to win the RAM Club Prize at the Academy and in the 2008 was the Winner of the prestigious Derek Butler London Prize at the Wigmore Hall, London.
