Video: Winner Vladimir Stupnikov plays Tango 130 by Gary Daverne The New Zealand Accordion Association (NZAA) announces the result of the 2020 International Video Competition & Promotion of Accordion Music by famous New Zealand composer Gary Daverne. Winning video above: The winner was Vladimir Stupnikov from Russia. Vladimir Stupnikov and his teacher Friedrich Lips won the 1st prize of two round trip air tickets to New Zealand to the 2020 South Pacific Accordion Championships, 30-31 May 2020, Auckland, New Zealand. On Saturday 17 January 2020, the jury of the 2020 International Video Competition & Promotion of Accordion Music by Gary Daverne (the jury being Gary Daverne, Kevin Friedrich, Grayson Masefield, Stephanie Poole) finalised their judging from different corners of the world. Gary Daverne and Stephanie Poole were in New Zealand. Grayson Masefield was in Singapore performing and Kevin Friedrich in New York. There were 15 entries from many different countries and the overall standard was excellent. Gary Daverne wrote: "I want to thank the entrants for their music and enthusiasm. I was very impressed and happy to hear my music being performed at such a high standard." |
