| On pourra entendre des milliers d’accordéons au 11ème festival de World Music d’Innsbrück en Autriche, du 9 au 12 mai. Quelques 10 000 amis de l’accordéon, environ 250 orchestres et ensembles de 15 nations sont attendus au Centre International des Congrès et autres scènes associées pour l’un des plus grands concours d’accordéon du monde Téléchargez la brochure d’information à: 2013Innsbruck.pdf avec règlement et toutes infos de contacts. Formulaire d’inscription: 2013Innsbr_registration.pdf Le concours international offre différentes catégories telles que orchestres et ensembles d’accordéon, musique de chambre, orchestres d’harmonicas, ensembles d’accordéon diatoniques et nouvelles instrumentations accordéon-groupe, musiques du monde et folk avec au minimum un accordéon et autres instruments. L’événement sera aussi l’occasion d’excellents concerts lors des soirées et le dimanche 12 juin lors de la cérémonie finale de remise des prix à l’Innsbrück Olympic Hall. Depuis 1983 l’association Allemande de l’harmonika (DHV) organise tous les trois ans le festival de World Music à Innsbrück dans le magnifique Tyrol autrichien. Nouveau CD ‘Lips Concerto’ Moscou - Russieby Dr Herbert Scheibenreif Manager of Friedrich Lips Productions |
 Cette semaine a vu la sortie du nouveau CD de Friedrich Lips intitulé ‘Lips Concerto’. Catalogue: CD025Dans son concerto pour Bayan et orchestre symphonique (2009), A. N. Kholminov a créé une fresque captivante où sur fond d’orchestre symphonique, le bayan est proposé comme un instrument soliste d’une manière très brillante et enlevée. La dédicace spéciale de l’artiste exprimée dans le titre de E. Podgaits’ ‘Lips Concerto for Bayan and Symphony Orchestra’ (2001) est basée sur une série de symbole concrets. Par exemple, l’Invention en Fa mjeur de Bach commence avec les notes Fa-La, qui correspondent aux initiales de l’artiste. Les chiffres du numéro de téléphone de l’artiste (3152824) deviennent une mélodie que le compositeur place avec humour dans différents passages. Tout au long du concerto, la magnificente beauté de l’ellipse harmonique (ce mot contient aussi le nom de l’artiste) charme le public. Divertimento 5. Satz KV 439b (W.A. Mozart)
| Le duo Accordéon-Clarinette Nebl & Nebl avait accepté l’invitation du professeur Cao Xiao-Qing à se rendre en Chine du 19 au 27 novembre. Le duo est composé des frères Andreas Nebl (professeur d’accordéon au Conservatoire Hohner de Trossingen) et Franck Nebl (clarinette). Photo ci-dessus. Le premier concert a eu lieu le 20 novembre au Conservatoire Central de Pékin et le 22 le duo était invité au Collège de Music de Tianjin. Ce furent les premiers concerts d’un duo européen accordéon-clarinette dans une école de musique chinoise et il furent écoutés avec beaucoup d’intérêt et d’enthousiasme. Les 20 et 21 novembre Nebl & Nebl tinrent une master class au conservatoire central de Pékin et le 24 Andrés Nebl proposa un exposé sur l’accordéon à Tianjin. Le duo partit alors pour l’Université de Shangai pour donner un concert organisé par le professeur Li Cong et le professeur assistant Crystal Wang, et pour faire un exposé sur la musique de chambre.  Les nominés pour les Grammy Awards 2013 ont été annoncés mercredi 5 décembre au cours de l’émission “The Grammy Nominations Concert Live!” diffusée depuis la Bridgestone Arena de Nashville.Kanye West, Jay-Z, Frank Ocean, Mumford & Sons, fun et Dan Auerbach des Black Keys , tous retenus pour les nominations, 5 nominations pour chacun! Mumford & Sons ont été nominees dans les catégories suivantes : Album de l’année - "Babel" Meilleur interprétation rock - "I Will Wait" Meilleur titre rock - "I Will Wait" Meilleur album américain - "Babel" Meilleure chanson pour un media visuel - "Learn Me Right (From Brave)" Meilleure musique pour video - "Big Easy Express" Mumford & Sons est un groupe de rock anglais. Le groupe se compose de Marcus Mumford (vocals, guitare, batterie, mandoline), Ben Lovett (vocals, claviers, accordéon, batterie), "Country" Winston Marshall (vocals, banjo, dobro, guitare), et Ted Dwane (vocals, guitare basse, batterie, guitare). Le second album de Mumford & Sons' ‘Babel’ a été aussitôt numéro un au Royaume-Uni et aux USA et il est devenu l’album le plus vite vendu de 2012. Les 55èmes Grammy Awards se tiendront le 10 février 2013 au Staples Centre de Los Angeles. |

 ‘El Encuentro: un film pour Bandoneon et violoncelle, par Norbert Wiedmer et Enrique Ros, suit le bandonéoniste Dino Saluzzi et la violoncelliste Anja Lechner lors de concerts en Argentine, Allemagne, Arménie, Italie, Pays-Bas et Suisse. "Votre perception de la musique et votre façon de jouer la musique change lorsque vous voyagez," dit Anja Lechner. La caméra fait partie du voyage et met en lumière la façon de faire de la musique dans des contextes très différents. Ces deux musiciens ont eu des parcours divers – Dino vient du tango sud Américain et des traditions folks et Anja du monde de la musique classique européenne – mais il travaillent ensemble depuis le milieu des années 1990. ‘El Encuentro’ (La rencontre) pénètre dans la vie de ces deux musiciens voyageurs, nous les montre en tournée et lorsqu’ils sont rejoints par le compositeur Tigran Mansurian, l’arrangeur Levon Eskenian, le pianiste George Gruntz, et le frère de Dino, le saxophoniste/clarinettiste Felix Saluzzi. Le voyage culmine avec un concert de Dino accompagné par le Metropole Orchestra au Musziekgebow, d’Amsterdam.  Portuguese accordionist João Gentil was invited to the Festival Porteño de Fado y Tango de Buenos Aires, Argentina. The invitation come from the famous Tango singer Karina Beorlegui, who met João Gentil on his tour last year.João Gentil returns to the southern hemisphere for a tour, passing by Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil) and Argentina. With the aim of promoting his CD called ‘ConLatinidade’, João Gentil has a busy schedule with concerts in Porto Alegre, Buenos Aires, Rosario, Paranà. Featured in the concerts is the Festival Porteño de Fado y Tango de Buenos Aires, where he performed on December 5th at the Almagro Tango Club. This is the third consecutive year that the Portuguese accordionist has crossed the Atlantic to promote his work. "Being invited to participate in the first Festival Porteño of Fado y Tango de Buenos Aires, makes me very happy! Back to the land of tango where I started recording my album ‘ConLatinidade’ and also to visit friends and musicians there as the accordion player Alejandro Brittes", says João Gentil.  The video is a Jazz concert based on the famous Christmas tale by Charles Dickens, literary adaptation of Clio Pizzingrilli.Performers are: Renzo Ruggieri (accordion), Tiziana De Angelis (voice and speech). Mauro De Federicis (guitar) "A Christmas Carol" is the brainchild alternative to traditional Christmas concerts, however, is aimed at a wide audience. Defined as the most beautiful story about Christmas, tells the conversion of Scrooge, a unrepentant stingy miser to become a good and generous man. This is about the meeting of three spirits representing Christmas past, present and future. Musical research attentive to the atmosphere of the story, now gothic, dark, delicate and joyful hours, accompanies the listener into the magical world of Dickens.  Spanish concert accordionist Angel Luis Castaño has presented this week his new CD ‘Spanish music for solo accordion’ (volume 2). This CD includes works for solo accordion premiered and dedicated to Angel Luis Castaño by famous Spanish composers Tomás Marco, Claudio Prieto, David del Puerto, José Mª García Laborda, Enrique Igoa, and Carlos Perón.The main objective of ‘Spanish music for solo accordion’, volumes 1 and 2, is to promote the new repertory for solo accordion written by Spanish composers who, after having taken contact with the instrument and Angel Luis Castaño´s work as concert accordionist, they have decided to enlarge the Spanish repertory with original music for solo accordion. Both CDs, volume 1 and 2, inlcude music by Spanish National Music Awarded composers like G. Olavide (1987), T. Marco (2002), J. Rueda (2004), D. Del Puerto (2005), C. Camarero (2006), J. Soler (2009), and J. Torres (2012). Angel Luis Castaño is preparing new recordings for next year: the expected CD for 2 accordions as a duo with the famous Finnish accordionist Mika Väyrynen, and a solo CD with original music and transcriptions. | Call it the luck of the Irish! On November 17th Saint Patrick's Day was celebrated four months early with a very pleasant surprise for members and guests at NHAA's monthly meeting. NHAA members had anticipated hearing the award-winning accordionist Chris Brinn, but they had not expected him to bring along his multi-instrumental friend, Jim Hyland, who plays guitar, Irish fiddle, and diatonic button accordion. Chris and Jim perform regularly in and around Belfast, Maine, including at the Maine Celtic Celebration, an annual festival which will next take place July 19th-21st 2013. After a lively concert, Chris and Jim stayed around for an informal jam session and folks were having so much fun, that the rest of the planned meeting agenda was shelved.   The 2013 Grammy Awards nominees were announced on Wednesday, December 5, 2013 as part of “The Grammy Nominations Concert Live!” telecast from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. The nominees for the 55th Grammy Awards included some familiar Louisiana faces who were nominated in several categories. In the Best Regional Roots album category, Corey Ledet (pictured left) & His Zydeco Band earned a nomination for Nothin' But the Best, as did supergroup trio Wayne Toups, Steve Riley and Wilson Savoy (pictured right) for their The Band Courtbouillon. | The Accordions Worldwide news for December 4th 1998 included a report from Australia that the actor Sean Connery, who is Scottish, had publicly praised Capercaillie, who were on tour from Scotland. James Bond star Connery’s endorsement did much to enhance Capercaillie’s support and reputation. Capercaillie, formed in 1984 by Donald Shaw, are still going strong. FILM STAR ENDORSEMENT FOR SCOTTISH GROUP The Daily Telegraph (Australia) included an article recently about Scottish funk band ‘Capercaillie’ who are currently touring Australia. The group, which includes accordionist Donald Shaw, believe that since popular film star Sean Connery called them "extraordinary", they have attracted younger, more diverse crowds. He said, "audiences changed dramatically after the high-profile endorsement". When they first performed in Australia a few years ago they played for an older crowd who they believe went away confused as their music isn't the traditional sing-along sound people thought they were going to hear. |

 In a break from tradition, the American Accordionists' Association (AAA) Coupe Mondiale qualifying competitions will not be held during their annual festival. For 2013, the Coupe Mondiale qualifying competitions will be held on March 16, 2013 at the Hanover Marriott in Whippany, NJ. Because the Coupe Mondiale will be held in Victoria, BC just a few days after the AAA Festival in August, the AAA has arranged to host the qualifying events during the MAMTG Festival in March giving candidates sufficient time to prepare for the Coupe Mondiale in August.
