Raimo Vertainen y "Guardia Nueva" Summer Tour, Finlandia luego Shenzhen, Chinaby Christine Johnstone |
La Orquesta de Tango "Guardia Nueva" dirigida por el Director Musical Raimo Vertainen recorrió Finlandia el mes pasado presentando conciertos en algunos de los festivales más grandes de Finlandia. Su gira incluyó actuaciones en el Festival de Artes Jyvsäkylä, el Festival de Tango Seinäjoki (a más de 3.000 personas), el Festival Kiuruvesi (3.500 personas) y en la Iglesia Lohtaja, donde se les unió la cantante de jazz y soul Johanna Försti. La Asociación Americana de Acordeón ha anunciado que su Festival 2020 se llevará a cabo en el Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites en Alexandria, VA, del 8 al 12 de julio de 2020. El festival incluirá a los artistas invitados Sam Reider, Cory Pesaturo, Joey Miskulin, una orquesta del festival dirigida por Mary Tokarski, además de concursos, talleres y mucho más. Muchos también asistirán para aplaudir el Lifetime Achievement Award en honor a Linda Solely Reed por su enorme contribución a la AAA desde la década de 1970 hasta la actualidad, incluida la presidencia de la AAA durante muchos años. El World Street Film Festival se celebró en Rostov-on-Don, Rusia, los días 23 y 24 de agosto. El evento incluyó un "Rostov en la pantalla" especial que presentó videos en la pantalla grande. Un video de acordeón de Aleluya de Leonard Cohen recibió el premio especial "Una nueva vista de la región" (foto a la derecha). Además del acordeón, el video muestra imágenes del Parque Nacional Estatal de Naturaleza "Rostovskiy" en Rusia, la Iglesia Ruinas de Surb-Karapet (en la aldea de Nesvetai), distrito de Miasnikov y región de Rostov, Rusia. Intérpretes de video: Alexander Poeluev (acordeón, arreglista), Roman Kirimeev (rodaje, editor), Dmitry Vodogretskiy (ingeniero de sonido), Elizaveta Poelueva (guionista, productora). El video se ha presentado ahora en otra competencia titulada "Na Blago Mira" (Por el beneficio del mundo "). La ronda 1 de esta competencia depende de los votos públicos. El Festival Strumenti & Musica es un evento organizado en Spoleto por la Asociación Cultural Cultura Italiana de Acordeón (IAC) y Ars Spoletium Publisher and Recording. Mirco Patarini es el director artístico del festival y Michele Rossetti es directora artística del concurso internacional de piano Spoletto. Hay una gran competencia internacional de piano y el 22 de noviembre por la noche hay un concierto con Samuele Telari (acordeón) y la pianista Lucrezia Proietti en el Palazzo Leti Sansi. Una parte importante del Festival Strumenti & Musica 2019 es el 3er Concurso Internacional de Composición "Città di Spoleto". The Accordion Association of Chinese Musicians' Association (CAA) welcomed the World Accordion Orchestra XI to the Final Concert of the 72nd Coupe Mondiale Festival in Shenzhen, China, from August 12th to 17th, 2019. The World Accordion Orchestra XI of approximately 120 players were led by famous Chinese conductor Chen Weiliang and the amazing Joan Sommers, founder and also Musical Director of the World Accordion Orchestra XI. Dan Fedoryka is the accordionist for “Scythian”, a Celtic/folk/rock band that hosts Appaloosa, a 3-day music festival in Front Royal, Virginia, USA every Labor Day weekend (August 30th to September 1st this year). The festival features rising stars in Bluegrass, Americana and Celtic Music and takes place on a horse ranch campground nestled in the Shenandoah Valley. "Scythian" is celebrating 15 years as a band in conjunction with the 5th Annual Appaloosa Festival. The 15th “Festival of the Axe” wood carving festival took place in the city of Tomsk in Western Siberia recently. This is an annual event which attracts over 400,000 visitors and participants from 37 countries and over 30 republics and regions of Russia. This year, for the first time the event was held in conjunction with the International Accordion Festival "Bayan Reunited with Friends". Accordion Entertains at 2019 Polish Cultural Festival - Canadaby Christine Johnstone |
The 7th annual Polish Cultural Festival will be held at Shipbuilders' Square in North Vancouver on September 8th from 1pm to 8pm. The event will feature Polish music, singing and folk dancing, a special program for children and youth, activities, sing along and more. Vendors will be selling Polish T-shirts and accessories, jewelery, arts and crafts, as well as plenty of delicious traditional Polish food such as sausages, perogis and pastries. The Parno Drom band which includes accordionist Bob Kozak will entertain at the festival with their Eastern European Romani (Gypsy) style music and songs from Russia, Poland, Hungary and beyond. The 2019 Oktoberfest Munich will be held from September 21st to October 6th in Theresienwiese, Munich, Germany. The festival will include an opening ceremony, a variety of parades, concerts, children’s activities, fairground rides and a church service. Over 300 musicians are expected to take part in a unique performance of famous and popular Bavarian marches and songs in front of the picturesque backdrop of the Bavaria statue. For the grand finale, thousands of colorful balloons will be released into the sky in front of the Bavaria statue, while the audience sings along to the Bavarian anthem at the top of their voices. The 24th Le Grand Soufflet International Accordion Festival will be held at the Centre Culturel Pôle Sud, in Chartres-de-Bretagne, Ille-et-Vilaine (French Brittany) from October 2nd to 12th. The Artistic Director is Etienne Grandjean. The festival is now an important festival in France dedicated to the accordion. Over 15,000 people attend each year, and performances are given in 30 to 40 venues, which can host up to 500 people. The purpose of the festival is to show the modern diversity of the accordion in a variety of styles such as electronic, punk, rock, experimental etc. This year artists from all over the world have been invited to show different styles of music (Brazil, Canada, Argentina, Madagascar, Finland, etc) as well as young promising artists from France and other countries.
