 Der Weltakkordeontag (World Accordion Day) wird findet jedes Jahr am 6. Mai oder nahe diesem Zeitpunkt mit Akkordeon Veranstaltungen vieler Arten gefeiert. Es war am 6. Mai 1829, dass Cyril Damian (das ist die anglisierte Version von Cyrillius Demien), ein armenischer Orgelbauer, der sein erstes Akkordeon Design in Wien / Österreich patentierte.Cyril Damian und seine Zeitgenossen, die Akkordeone bauten, auch als Flutinas bekannt, wären sicherlich über die spätere Entwicklungen des Akkordeons und des globalen Erfoges sehr erstaunt gewesen. Wir heute, auf der anderen Seite, schulden es unseren Vorfahren, das Akkordeon in jeder möglichen Weise weiter zu fördern. Informieren Sie Akkordeon Weltweit, welche Veranstaltungen in Ihrer Nähe stattfinden, um den Weltakkordeontag gerecht zu feiern. Dies tun Sie automatisch, durch die Registrierung Ihrer Aktivität auf der World Accordion Day Webseite. Eine neue Veranstaltung für das Jahr 2012 ist eine Live-Streaming 24-Stunden-Feier des Akkordeon, ähnlich wie die TV-Berichterstattung über Silvester, wobei Events auf kontinuierlicher Basis aus verschiedenen Zeitzonen aus aller Welt ausgestrahlt werden.  Auf Initiative des Lehrstuhls Prof. Friedrich Lips (Bild links) für Bajan und Akkordeon an der Gnessin-Musikakademie in Moskau wurde 2010 der jährliche Allrussische Tag des Bajans, des Akkordeons und der Harmonika ins Leben gerufen. Diese Instrmente waren in Russland immer sehr beliebt und populär. Und an den Fronten des Großen Vaterländischen Kriegs, bei Festen wie Hochzeiten waren sie unersetzliche Begleiter in unserm Alltagsleben.1948 erhielten die Volksinstrumente einen neuen Impuls, als am Gnessin-Institut (heute Akademie) erstmals in der Welt ein Lehrstuhl eröffnet wurde. Und seit dieser Zeit geben die Bajanisten/Akkordeonisten Russlands bei den prestigeträchtigsten internationalen Wettbewerben den Ton an. Im Sinne der weiteren Popularisierung unserer Kunst und auch um ihr einen neuen Impuls zu geben, hat der Lehrstuhl für Bajan und Akkordeon an der Gnessin- Musikakademie die Initiative ergriffen, jährlich einen Allrussischen Tag des Bajans, des Akkordeons und der Harmonika durch zu führen. Ab 2010 wird dieser Feiertag in Moskau, Nishnij Nowgorod, Nowomoskowsk, Tula, Woronesch, Saratow, Krasnojarsk, Nowosibirsk, Tscheljabinsk, Jemanschelinsk, Kurgan, Samara, Jekaterinburg, Wladiwostok und anderen großen und kleinen Städten Russlands abgehalten. In Zukunft soll dieser Tag ein Teil des nationalen Projektes auf kulturellem Gebiet werden. Sicherlich ist es auf der Suche nach einer nationalen Idee sehr wichtig, alle Initiativen zur Erhaltung der Traditionen und der Errungenschaften unseres multinationalen Landes zu unterstützen, wobei dieser Feiertag eine wichtige völkerverbindende Rolle spielen wird. 2012 wurde dieser Feiertag am 17. März veranstaltet. Auf Anregung des Lehrstuhls und des im Dezember 2011 neugegründeten interregionalen Verbandes für Bajanisten und Akkordeonisten fand am Vortag, 16. März im Gnessin-Konzertsaal eine "Introduktion" zum Feiertag statt - ein einzigartiges Konzert der weltbesten Bajanisten/Akkordeonisten der Welt - das Konzert der Sieger der größten internationalen Wettbewerbe 2011, „die Goldenen Preisträger 2011“: Nenad Iwanowitsch (Bild links unten) – 1. Preis Castelfidardo, 1.Preis bei der Coupe Mondiale in Shanghai (China), Josef Puriz (Russland) – 1. Preis in Arrasate (Spanien), Thibaut Trosset (Frankreich) – 1. Preis in Klingenthal (Deutschland), Hu Xianan (China) – 1. Preis bei der Trophée Mondiale in Pineto (Italien). Leider konnte Thibaut Trosset nicht kommen.  Vom 23 bis 25 März fand in der Oma Tupa Konzerthalle in Ikaalinen der 40. Nationale Akkordeon-Wettbewerb für Kinder und Jugendliche in sechs Kategorien mit ca. 100 Teilnehmern, statt. Die Veranstaltung wurde von der Accordion Teachers 'Association in Finnland und der finnischen Akkordeon-Vereinigung (SHL) organisiert.In der Kategorie A18, haben sich Tuomas Poutanen und Mikko Malin (Bild links) qualifiziert, die Finnland bei dem CIA Coupe Mondiale 2012 in Spoleto vertreten werden.  Ivana und Miran Vaupotich, aus Kroatien, als AccDuo bekannt, wurden vor kurzem Gewinner des 14. Internationalen Web Concert Hall Competition, in den USA . Der Wettbewerb ist offen für alle Nationalitäten, jeden Alters, für alle Instrumentalisten Orchester-und Kammermusik-Ensembles.Es gab 41 Einsendungen aus drei Kontinenten: 17 Solo-Instrumentalisten und 24 Ensembles. Zweite wurden das ukrainischen Klavierduo Olha Chipak und Oleksiy Kushnir. Seit ihrer Gründung im Jahr 2004, AccoDuo – haben sich die Eheleute Ivana und Miran Vaupotich - zu einem der vielversprechendsten klassisches Akkordeon Duos profiliert. AccoDuo präsentieren eine ansprechende Mischung von Musikstilen und ihr Repertoire umfasst Originalwerke, Transkriptionen aus verschiedenen Musik-Epochen, sowie populäre und Weltmusik. Ivana Levak und Miran Vaupotich trafen sich in Zagreb als klassischen Akkordeon Teenager Studenten. Beide machten ihren Master-Abschluss an der Universität von Juraj Dobrila in Pula, Kroatien.  Serbian accordionist Peter Maric, winner of the Coupe Mondiale in 2010, has just completed a concert tour in Portugal where he presented to the audience, a “new wave of electronic music” using the Roland accordion.Concerts were: March 23rd at Estoi (Faro); March 24th - Cadillac Bar, Quarteira; March 25th - Nuclegarve, Ferreiras; March 26th - Santa Clara, Almodovar; March 30th - O Museu, Boliquieme; March 31st - Auditorio Municipal, Albufeira; April 1st - Murilha Bar, Lourigna. Petar Maric wrote that “The new project with electronic music was very well received by the audience”, and “I had a fantastic opportunity to play with one of the living legends of Portugal music, Augenia Lima, 86 years old accordionist”. Roland Serbia have nominated Petar Maric to represent Serbia at the 6th Roland V-Accordion International Festival, November 9th and 10th in Rome, Italy. |

 The Accordions Worldwide news for April 3rd 1998 announced that US accordionist Henry Doktorski had recorded a CD of music composed by George Gershwin. He notes that the very first radio broadcast of ‘Rhapsody in Blue’, in 1924, featured accordion. Was the accordionist Mario Perry, a member of the Paul Whiteman Orchestra? Whiteman commissioned Gershwin to compose ‘Rhapsody in Blue’, and his orchestra performed the world premiere on February 12th 1924 at the Aeolian Hall, New York, with Gershwin as the pianist. CD FOR GERSHWIN LOVERS - USA Contributed by Henry Doktorski Accordionist Henry Doktorski has just finished his first recording session with the Duquesne University Chamber Ensemble of Gershwin's compositions, including ‘Rhapsody in Blue’. Henry believes "the Rhapsody has been performed many times with accordion, but the most amazing performance using accordion instead of piano was the very first radio broadcast of the Rhapsody in 1924!" The Rhapsody has become a staple of the accordion repertoire, and it has inspired other composers to write works for accordion and orchestra. The CD is scheduled for release on Gershwin's 100th birthday, September 26th 1998. |

 The ‘2012 Academy Festival des Arcs’ takes place, July 21st to 31st, in Les Arcs, a ski resort located in Savoie, in the south of France. The event involves tuition on accordion and a wide range of orchestral instruments. Bruno Maurice is the accordion teacher.  A revival of ‘Evita’ opened on April 5th at the Marquis Theatre on Broadway, New York, starring Elena Roger and Ricky Martin, and featuring accordionist Eddie Monteiro. The show is running at the Marquis Theatre until December 30th 2012. ‘Evita’ is a musical with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice, set in Argentina and based on the life of Eva Perón, the wife of President Juan Perón. The story follows Evita's early life, rise to power, charity work, and eventual death. ‘Evita’, written in 1976, has been a major worldwide success, and was filmed in 1996, starring Maddona and Antonio Banderas. The well-known and highly regarded jazz musician Eddie Monteiro, widely known for his entertaining style, has over 30 years of musical performance in classical music, jazz, dance, theater and cabaret. He is the youngest honoree ever elected to the American Accordionists’ Association Hall of Fame in 1994.?Eddie Monteiro has performed at jazz festivals throughout the world and resides in East Hanover, New Jersey, where he is a K-8 music teacher in the Newark School system and uses his accordion in his classroom music teaching.  Accart schreibt einen internationalen Akkordeonpreis aus in den Ländern Luxemburg, Deutschland, Frankreich und Belgien. Dieser internationale Akkordeon Wettbewerb wird aufgrund einer Initiative von Herrn Boy Cloos (Hauptsponsor des Projekts) und eines vierköpfigen Teams um Maurizio Spiridigliozzi (Akkordeon-Lehrer am Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg) in den oben genannten Ländern ausgeschrieben.Dieser Wettbewerb wurde ins Leben gerufen, um dem Akkordeon, in einer ersten Etappe in Luxemburg und seinen Nachbarländern, eine Renaissance zu ermöglichen und in Zukunft ein Luxemburgisches Institut für Akkordeon zu gründen und Masterclasses-Konzerte und wissenschaftliche pädagogische Arbeiten zu ermöglichen. Die Veranstaltung findet am Sonntag, 14. Oktober 2012, um 17.00 Uhr im Conservatoire de Musique de la Ville de Luxembourg statt. Es werden nur Kandidaten mit einem sehr hohen künstlerischen Niveau zugelassen. Eine professionelle Vorauswahl wird durch eine renommierte internationale Jury getroffen (siehe Anmeldebogen). Die besten Bewerber werden im Juni nach Bewertung zu einem Vorspielen mit Pflichtstücken eingeladen. Die Kandidaten senden bitte bis zum 15. April 2012 eingehend Ihre schriftlichen Bewerbungsunterlagen mit einer DEMO-DVD oder einem Video auf USB-Stick an o.g. Adresse.  ‘Akkordeonale 2012’ is a touring accordion concert party, formed by Dutch accordionist Servais Haanen (picture top right). The players come from different countries and represent a variety of accordion types and genres. This year’s show is a colourful mix of Argentine tango, Balkan gypsy, Styrian jazz and Scottish folk, mixed with Haanen’s musical aesthetic and humour. The players are Florinel Ionita - Roma/Balkan accordion, Johannes Steiner (picture right lower) - Styrian accordion/jazz, tango player Florencia Amengual – bandoneon, Sandy Brechin (picture right middle) – piano accordion/Scottish dance music, and Servais Haanen – diatonic button accordion; the accompanists are Sean Reagan (violin and mandolin), and Sigrún Kristbjörg Jónsdóttir (trombone). | The Kilfenora Céilí Band are playing their first ever concert in Kerry on Saturday April 8th, 8.30pm until 11.30pm, at the I.N.E.C Center, Muckross Road, Killarney. This will coincide with the release of their new CD 'Chapter 8' and will include pieces from the new album, dynamic arranged pieces and of course reels and jigs in true traditional style. The West Clare Set Dancers will also be on the show. Formed in 1909, The Kilfenora Céilí Band is Ireland’s oldest ceili band, based in Kilfenora, County Clare. Currently a 10 piece ensemble, the line-up includes Tim Collins and Claire Griffin on accordions. |
