Stockport Accordion Club @ Church's 150th Anniversary, Cheshire – UKby Rob Howard |
On Saturday morning September 29th six members of the Stockport Accordion Club had a great time performing a half-hour set during Woodley Methodist Church's 150th anniversary wee16kend event on Saturday September 29th. Stockport AC has been based at the church since 2006. Left to right in the picture are Marj Howard, Norbert Normile, John Curvis, Rob Howard, Betty Molloy and Diana Tong. The group’s programme included Alexander's Ragtime Band, Blue Danube, Moonlight Serenade, Bavarian Drinking Songs, Vienna City of my Dreams, Black Forest Polka, The Dark Island, Amapola, Waltzes from the North, and My Way. Rob Howard writes: “We all enjoyed ourselves and made several new friends along the way, including a man who is keen to buy and learn the accordion and a gentleman from India who plays the accordion plus other instruments. He took lots of photos and videos of us, and returned home to India the next day, promising to introduce us to all his friends. Could Stockport AC be en route for a gig in Mumbai anytime soon?”. |
