Vincent Lhermit CD Release and Concert Dates – Franceby Rob Howard |
Accordionist Vincent Lhermit and viola da gamba player Marianne Muller have collaborated on a recording titled ‘Poetical Humors’, presenting music from the Elizabethan era by Bull, Dowland, Gibbons, Hume, Hersant, Tidrow, etc. The CD was released on September 21st on the Harmonia Mundi International label. Forthcoming concert dates include: Poetical Humors: October 13th on France Musique and January 16th 2019 at the Lille Opera Contemporary music for viola da gamba and accordion: December 2nd in Lyon (Rencontres Contemporary Festival) The Art of Fugue by Bach: May 3rd, 4th, 5th 2019 in La Courroie, featuring Alice Piérot, baroque violinist Sonates by Bach: August 2019 at the Bach en Combrailles Festival Vincent Lhermit (born 1987) is regarded by his contemporaries as one of the most accomplished French accordionists of his generation. He graduated from the Sibelius Academy of Helsinki, Finland, and was the first ever accordionist to be admitted to the Doctorate of Music Performance (PhD) at the Paris Conservatoire, Sorbonne University, Paris. He won first prize in the Arrasate-Hiria International Competition in Spain (2006), and regularly performs worldwide as a soloist with orchestras, ensembles and chamber groups. He is currently teaching accordion at the Boulogne-Billancourt Conservatoire and the Higher Arts Education Centers of Lille and Paris/Boulogne-Billancourt.
