 Nach dem sehr erfolgreichen Coupe Mondiale 2021 in München im vergangenen Monat sind die Planungen für den Coupe Mondiale 2022 in Zofingen, Schweiz, vom 4. bis 9. Oktober in vollem Gange.Anlässlich des 146. internationalen Delegiertenkongresses der CIA im vergangenen Monat wurde der Ausrichtervertrag für den Coupe Mondiale 2022 von accordeon.ch-Präsidentin Yvonne Glur und CIA-Vizepräsident und accordeon.ch Coupe Mondiale-Organisator Ruedi Marty mit CIA-Präsident Mirco Patarini und Generalsekretär Kimmo Mattila unterzeichnet. Bild oben. Der Gastgeber von accordeon.ch hielt eine Präsentation für die Kongressdelegierten aus 19 Ländern und 6 Ländern, die über eine Vertretung teilnahmen. Die Präsentation mit vielen Informationen über die Stadt, Konzertorte, Hotels und Reiseinformationen kann heruntergeladen werden: 2022CM-Presentation.pdf Zofingen ist eine kleine Stadt mit 12.000 Einwohnern, etwa 60 km von den Flughäfen Basel und Zürich entfernt, wobei Zürich einer der wichtigsten Flughäfen Europas ist, der die Schweiz mit der ganzen Welt verbindet. Die Konzertsäle liegen mitten in Zofingen und sind in 5 Minuten zu Fuss erreichbar. Die wichtigsten Konzerte und Wettbewerbe finden in der großen Stadthalle statt, die bis zu 450 Personen fasst. |

| Der Deutsche Harmonika-Verband e. V. (DHV) hat die Änderung des Termins von 2022 auf 2023 bekannt gegeben. Das World Music Festival Innsbruck wird nun vom 18. bis 21. Mai 2023 in Innsbruck, Österreich, stattfinden. Alle drei Jahre freuen sich mehrere tausend Teilnehmer und Besucher, wenn der Deutsche DHV-Verband zum Weltmusikfestival einlädt. Die Veranstaltung mit vielen Konzerten und zahlreichen Wettbewerben in verschiedenen Kategorien für Akkordeon, Mundharmonika und Steirische Harmonika gehört zu den größeren Akkordeon-Weltveranstaltungen. |

November 2021 um 14.30 Uhr.Die Veranstaltung findet im Dorpshuis Landsmeer in Landsmeer, Nordholland, Niederlande, statt. Music requirements of Junior Coupe Mondiale category: Round I The candidate must perform three pieces: One Baroque work. Two (2) pieces of contrasting character and style Notifications: Minimum one original work for accordion must be included. One of the pieces can be a single movement from a cyclic work. Each piece must be from a different composer. Playing time for Round 1: maximum 15 minutes.  Accordionist Alexey Peresydly won the Governor of Yugra Grant Competition held this week at the Organ hall of the KTC ''Yugra-Classic'' in Moscow, Russia. He has also achieved internationally 2nd place, 2003 Coupe Mondiale.Alexey performed the premiere program ''Earthly Captivity'' which included works of a deeply philosophical context, contemporary academic music written for the accordion, that was intended to reveal to the listener long-known truths from a different angle of view. Pieces included Alexander Zhemchuzhnikov - ''He who dwells under the blood of the Almighty in the shadow of the Almighty will calm down...", Vasily Serdyshov - ''From darkness to light'', Alexei Peresydly - ''Earthly Slavs'' and Sergey Zyatkov - ''Three Pieces for the accordion'' (''Lay there and then - hear", ''Mechanisms of tenderness", and ''Twinkle''). Alexey’s project ''The art of Ugra for the whole planet" won a large grant, with which he plans to publish further music, perform his works in the future and produce a film concert ''Mosfilm". |

Event co-hosts were the Prague Conservatory, the Society of Czech Accordionists the Club Tours Concert Agency. The festival and competition attracted more than 100 players from eight countries. | The 72nd Perth Accordion & Fiddle Festival 2021 was held online during October from Redgorton, Perth in Scotland. Accordion adjudicators were James Coutts, Michael Philip and Freeland Barbour. Competition result were announced on October 30th, 2021 apart from the All Scotland Senior Traditional Accordion Solo Championship, which were announced live on BBC Radio Scotland “Take The Floor” program on Saturday 30th October 2021.  Im Rahmen des Zyklus „Young Musicians“ verführte Nikola Djoric im Matellenen Saal des Wiener Musikvereins, Vienna, Austria on October 22nd, 2021 sein zahlreich erschienenes Publikum in neue Klangwelten auf seinem Instrument. Speziell Gubaidulinas Sonate „Ex expecto“ erregte durch seine für viele neuen Effekte wie etwa mehrteilige ricochets oder die Verwendung des Luftknopfs die Neugier der Zuhörer. Die bekannte „Toccata und Fuge d-moll“, BWV 565 gehört zu den Höhepunkten im Schaffen J.S. Bachs. Während die Toccata eher das virtuose, bisweilen spielerische Element vertritt, huldigt die Fuge dann dem strengen kontrapunktischen Satz, insgesamt entsteht ein kunstvolles polyphones Gebäude. Im 20. Jahrhundert erlangte dieses Werk neues schöpferisches Leben auf dem jüngsten zeitgenössischen Instrument - dem Bajan. In der „Englischen Suite Nr. 2 a-moll“, BWV 807 (Prélude – Allemande - Courante - Sarabande - Bourrée I – II – I - Gigue) beeindruckte Djoric durch interpretatorische Feinheiten einschließlich der freischwebenden Linienführung, die den Reiz der „Englischen Suiten“ Bachs ausmachen. S. Gubaidulina (feierte unlängst ihren 90. Geburtstag) ist eine bedeutende Komponistin im Russland des 20. Jahrhunderts. Sie ist Autorin zahlreicher Werke für Sinfonieorchester, Kammer- und Vokalmusik. In den 1980er-Jahren erlangte das Schaffen S. Gubaidulinas Weltgeltung. Für Bajan schrieb sie u.a. „De profundis“ (1978), „Sieben Worte“ für Bajan, Violoncello und Streicher (1982), „Et exspecto“ - Sonate in 5 Sätzen (1986), „Silenzio“ für Bajan, Violine und Violoncello (1992), „Tatarischer Tanz“ für Bajan und zwei Kontrabässe (1992), „Im Zeichen des Skorpions“ – Variationen über sechs Hexachorde für Bajan und Orchester (2003) sowie „Fachwerk“ für Akkordeon, Perkussion und Orchester (2009). „Et exspecto“ bezieht sich auf die zweite Erscheinung Christi. Im Mittelpunkt der Sonate steht der Konflikt zwischen zwei Klangsphären. Dem reinen und klaren Choral werden klangvolle Cluster gegenübergestellt. Das Thema des Chorals, bald klar, bald geheimnisvoll und mystisch, bald feierlich, kommt in allen Sätzen vor, außer im Finale. In der Kulmination des 4. Satzes fühlt sich der Choral scheinbar bestärkt auf seinem leidvoll-majestätischen Weg, aber die anfangs harmonisch einfachen Akkorde gemeinsam mit den unmerklich aufstrebenden Figurationen erhalten allmählich eine dissonante Struktur, und diese Mutation führt zu grandiosen Clustern über den ganzen Umfang des Instrumentes. Eine große Rolle kommt in der Sonate dem Geräusch des Luftknopfs zu, der das Heulen des Windes darstellt. Dieser klangliche Effekt, der im Finale gleichsam Lautgestalt erhält, schafft das Bild eines winterlichen Schneesturms... und ruft gewissermaßen eine Assoziation mit der b-moll Sonate von F. Chopin hervor. Für den 1984 gedrehten, auf dem gleichnamigen Theaterstück (1922) von Luigi Pirandello basierenden Film „Enrico IV“ schrieb Astor Piazzolla ein „Ave Maria“ (Tanti anni prima / Vor vielen Jahren) für Violine und Klavier, dessen einschmeichelnde Melodik sehr bald populär wurde. Neben zahlreichen Bearbeitungen für verschiedene Instrumente ist auch jene für Akkordeon oftmals zu hören. Der Akkordeonist Nikola Djoric hat sich als Solist und Kammermusiker einen Namen gemacht und ist bereits im Wiener Musikverein, in der Philharmonie Köln, im Konzerthaus Berlin sowie im Münchner Gasteig aufgetreten. Ständig erforscht er mit seinem Akkordeon bisher unbekannte Klangspektren im klassischen Repertoire, wobei er sich streng an den Originaltext hält. Daraus sowie durch seine Affinität zur zeitgenössischen Musik schöpft er seine Inspiration zu derartigen grandiosen Abenden. |

| The “Be Free’ Fest was held in Chisinau, Moldova from October 29th to November 4th, 2021, organised by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation Romania and Moldova. The Concertino Accordion Band (pictured below) performed a concert entitled “Piazzolla 100” at the Sala Mare, Teatrul National Satiricus Ion Luca Caragiale in Chisinau, on November 4th. Their performance celebrated the 100th anniversary of the birth of Argentine composer, Astor Piazzolla with a program including “Michelangelo 70”, "Milonga del Angel", "Porteña Spring", "Autumn Porteño", "Porteño Winter", "Verano Porteño", "Oblivion", “Tango Ballet”, "Goodbye Nonino", “Escape”, "I am Mary", “Escape and Mystery”, and "Let's go to the devil". |

| The Amalgalis Duo, which consists of accordionists Daniel Lis and Ewa Grabowska-Lis performed in concert at the Akordeono Festivalis at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater (LMTA) in Vilnius, Lithuania on November 3rd. Their performance included the world premiere of “Running on the street” (Leszek Kolodziejski), as well as the latest works dedicated to their ensemble by Polish composers, such as Bogdan Dowlasz, Mikolaj Majkusiak and Maciej Zimka. |

The City of Bari, - whose Piccinni Conservatory was the third in Italy to activate one of the most important chairs of the accordion in 1993 - is now hosting the first edition of the Bari Accordion Festival. A total of 6 concerts on 3 evenings held at the Salesian Cloister - Redeemer Church in Bari, Southern Italy from October 15th to 17th, 2021. Artistic Director Francesco Palazzo is accordionist and teacher at the Bari Conservatory. The event, which was supported by the Bari Municipality, the Apulia Region and the Patrocini entities, included six concerts over 3 evenings. Festival accordionists included: United Sounds with Pasquale Barberio (accordion), SudEstada Ensemble with Tiziano Zanzarella (accordion), Shanah Tovah with Fabio Zurlo (accordion), duo composed of Pietro Adragna (accordion) and Giuseppe Sinacori (guitar), Alchémia with accordionist Loderini, Folksongs Tango Project. |

 Video: “Redbud Winter” by Will Holshouser and Eric Vloeimans.Accordionist Will Holshouser will tour The Netherlands this month with Eric Vloeimans (trumpet). During the tour, the duo (pictured left) will perform “Redbud Winter” composed by Will Holshouser, which is commissioned by the American Accordionists' Association (AAA). The piece was premiered at the AAA Seminars curated by Dr. William Schimmel, on July 30th, 2021 and was written in memory of Will's mother, Cynthia Shoemaker (1939 - 2021). The event entitled “Not only Beethoven Celebrates its Anniversary”, will celebrate the 55th anniversary of the orchestra and Beethoven, as most concerts honouring his 250th birthday last year had to be canceled or postponed due to the pandemic. Therefore the first half of the program (under the direction of Anita Brandtstäter) will be dedicated to the great Bonn-born composer. As a world premiere the orchestra will present the “Beethoven Highlights” (written especially for them by Gottfried Hummel), with excerpts from symphonies 1, 5, 6 and 9, the chorale “Die Himmel Rühmen”, the Moonlight Sonata and the piano sonata “Für Elise”. The theme of the 5th symphony was also used in pop and disco music and they want to present “Celebration” by Sebastian Klein and “A Fifth of Beethoven” by Josef Retter. In the second half, they will present a colorful mix of music that shows the diversity of accordion music, from a rock overture “On Stage” (Thomas Ott), to “Anos de Soledad” (Astor Piazzolla), film music, electro swing and pop classics.   Duo Klaus Paier (accordion) and Asja Valcic (cello) will perform a concert at the Konzerthaus, Berio-Saal in Vienna, Austria on November 22nd, 2021 at 7.30pm.The performance will feature Nava Ebrahimi (Tehran), who will read her text “The Cousin”, which was awarded the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize 2021, while the duo perform. | “The Henry Girls” (pictured above) will perform a live Tracks in the Snow Music Show at “The Ark”, Temple Bar in Dublin, Ireland on December 4th and 5th, 2021. The show by the three sisters from Co Donegal, is aimed at primary school classes and includes Listening & Responding, Composing and Performing strand units of the Music curriculum. The trio also provide free downloadable classroom pack, “which provides a range of accessible music activities and creative approaches connected to the theme and songs of the show. The activities will encourage music-making projects in the classroom and support imaginative music responses to the performance which are relevant to the composing and performing music curriculum strands.” In line with Covid-19 regulations, audience capacity is reduced by 50% plus the venue has implemented new safety measures such as enhanced ventilation, thorough cleaning between performances, face coverings, hand sanitising stations, perspex screens and a new one-way system.
