 Zur Feier des 14. Jahrestages der Akkordeons Weltweit (Accordions Worldwide) Web Platform haben wir uns entschlossen, alle unsere Webseiten in einem neuen LOOK erscheinen zu lassen. Diese wurden nun über die letzten Tage aktualisiert und sind online.Wir hoffen, daß unser neues Design Sie anspricht und es für unsere Leser einfacher und angenehmer zu navigieren zu lesen und ist. Außerdem haben wir uns entschlossen in unserer AWW Vergangenheit zu wühlen und von unserer Nachrichtenedition vom 8. November 1996 ein Element mit einer humorvollen wahren Geschichte ausgewählt: Die österreichischen TV-Nachrichten erzählen von einem Bauern, der von seinen Kühen mehr Milch melkt, wenn er ihnen Akkordeon-Volksmusik beim melken vorspielt. Dieser Artikel war sicherlich total anders als alle anderen Nachrichten in dieser Woche. Ich frage mich: spielt er nach wie vor das Akkordeon für seine Kühe? Rob Howard |

 Auf dem 124. Kongress der Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes der vergangenen Woche in Varazdin, Kroatien, gab die chinesische Delegation spannende Details des 2011 Coupe Mondiale’s (Coupe Mondiale) in Shanghai, der vom 02 bis 06 Oktober 2011stattfinden wird, bekannt.Die chinesische Delegation mit Professor Li Cong (CIA Delegierter und 2011 CIA-Ehren-Vize Präsident), Herr Yu Zhen (Vizepräsident und Generalsekretär der Shanghaier Musiker Association) und Cyrstal Wang (Vize-Präsident der Shanghai Akkordeon Assoziation), beteiligte sich an der feierlichen Unterzeichnung des 2011 Coupe Mondiale’s Hosting-Vertrag.  Der Internationale Coupe Mondiale Wettbewerb für die Kategorie Digital Akkordeon, gesponsert von Roland, wurde auch in seiner zweiten Edition zu einem großen Erfolg. Die hervorragende Leistungen entzückte das Publikum und bestätigt die Entscheidung, diese Kategorie in den Coupe Mondiale (seit zwei Jahren) aufgenommen zu haben.Sechs Teilnehmer maßen sich im 2. CIA Internationalem Wettbewerb für Digital Akkordeon. Drei Teilnehmer qualifizierten sich in ihrem Heimatland, während drei Kandidaten von Roland Europa während des 4. Roland Digital Akkordeon Wettbewerbes in Rom ausgewählt wurden. Roland sponserte auch alle Preisgelder für diese Kategorie zur Unterstützung digitaler Akkordeon-Technologie. Online 2010 Digital Category Report Die Teilnehmer boten ein enorm breites Spektrum an Musik und die Jury Mitglieder hatten große Mühe 1 Sieger aus den exzellenten Künstlern auszuwählen. Bild links, ist Sieger Pavel Janas (Polen). Zum Abschluss der Veranstaltung präsentierte Roland zwei ihrer berühmtesten Künstler, Sergio Scappini aus Italien und Ludovic Beier aus Frankreich.  Der in Serbien geborene und in London ansässige Akkordeonist Milos Milivojevic wird in Anwesenheit des Prinzen Charles am Freitag den 19. November im Bankett House, London, in einer Funktion für Frieden und Wohlstand Trust auftreten, die von der britisch Libanesischen Vereinigung organisiert wird.Milos Milivojevic ist Preisträger bei vielen internationalen Wettbewerben wie in Deutschland, Frankreich, Italien und Dänemark. Im Juli 2007 wurde er der erste Akkordeonist der den RAM-Club-Preis an der Royal Academy of Music in London gewinnen konnte. Weitere bemerkenswerte Auftritte in Großbritannien hatte er in der der Wigmore Hall, St Martin in the Fields Kirche St. James Piccadilly, University of London Senate House, National Portrait Gallery, Keble College Oxford, in Anwesenheit von HRH The Princess Royal.  Die 2011 Australische Internationale Akkordeon Meisterschaften und Festival finden am 11. und 12. Juni in Sydney statt und werden von der australischen Akkordeonlehrer Association (Australian Accordion Teachers Association) (AATA) unter Leitung der hoch angesehenen Präsidenten Tania Lukic-Marx geleitet.Internationale Kategorien: • Internationale Open Akkordeon Meisterschaften - 12 Jahre oder jünger solo; • Internationale Open Akkordeon Meisterschaften - 15 Jahre und jünger solo; • Internationale Junior Virtuoso Akkordeon Meisterschaften - 20 Jahre oder jünger solo; • Internationale Open Meisterschaften Akkordeon solo; plus andere internationale Kategorien Alle Regeln sind im Internet unter: www.aata.org.au zu konsultieren Zusätzlich zu den nationalen und internationalen Wettbewerben stehen Wochenende Konzerte mit herausragenden australischen und internationalen Künstlern, die Internationale Australische Südpazifik Akkordeon Meisterschaften und Meisterkurse auf dem Programm.  Alexander Sheykin, Russian-born accordionist based in Seoul, South Korea, for the last eight years has released his first CD, titled ‘Here and There’. The tracks on ‘Here and There’ include: Arirang, Libertango, Besame Mucho, La Cumparsita, Falling Snow, The Moment, Lara’s Theme, Indifference, La Vie En Rose, Chanson Triste, Carousel Conservatory trained in Kazakhstan and Russia, Alex has played in rock bands and with a tango ensemble, but now plays mostly as a soloist. “l jumped on a plan? the da? after my graduation from the ?ons?rvatory. I didn’t really know what to expe?t, but the experien?e has been fant?sti?”. Alex began his time in playing for tourists at Lotte World, an Asian theme park, then moved on to play for private functions and concerts in Seoul. He also performs at music festivals around Europe. | Renowned Finnish accordionist Mika Väyrynen presented several concerts in the Azores while on tour with cellist Jan-Erik Gustafsson. Concerts included November 3rd in the Centro Cultural da Graciosa on the Island of Graciosa and November 5th at Horta, Igreja Matrix da Horta, and on November 7th at the Teatro Micalese, Ponta Delgada. Dr. Väyrynen completed his studies at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki and is the winner of numerous international competitions, including the Coupe Mondiale World Accordion Championships. With 17 CD recordings to his credit, Mika performs throughout the world as a soloist as well as with chamber groups and Symphony Orchestras. Fellow Finnish musician Jan-Erik Gustafsson, is also a winner of several international competitions and performs regularly through Europe and the United States. The concert included works by Handel, Sibelius, Melartin, Gubaidulina, Piazzolla and Segerstam. |

 Iain MacLachlan (1928-95) was a 3-row diatonic button accordionist and composer from the Highlands of Scotland who achieved lasting fame as the composer of the haunting and beautiful melody ‘The Dark Island’. Originally composed in 1958 as a pipe lament for a local doctor under the title ‘Dr. Mackay's Farewell to Creagorry’, the tune later achieved worldwide popularity when it was used by BBC television as the theme for the series thriller ‘The Dark Island’, filmed on the island of Uist in the Outer Hebrides in 1963. Countless recordings of this tune have since appeared, but no one played the tune better than Iain MacLachlan himself.On the re-released CD ‘An Island Heritage’, Iain McLachlan's music comes as fresh as the sea breezes wafting over the Uist machair - Highland and Gaelic as his island heritage. Iain, from Benbecula in the Western Isles, played the accordion, melodeon and fiddle, and is joined by Calum Iain MacCorquodale on accordion and fiddle, and by Calum Campbell on goose and jaws harp. The CD includes the players in various combinations, peforming marches, strathspeys, jigs, reels, and hornpipes. | gehört in einer CNN Übertragung am 26.Oktober Joseph Kerschbaumer, ein Bauer aus Linz im Norden Österreichs, hat entdeckt wie er einen besseren Milchertrag von seinen Kühen erhält: durch das Spielen von traditioneller österreichischer Volksmusik auf dem Akkordeon!! Er behauptet, daß er 2 Liter Milch mehr von einer Kuh bekommt, weil die stimulierte Milch viel einfacher abgegeben wird. Er sagt, daß Kühe alle mögliche Musik mögen, aber daß sie eine Vorliebe für traditionelle östereichische Polkas haben. Er erklärt, daß die Kühe strahlende Augen bekommen, neugierig werden und sich amüsieren. Josephs Kinder folgen den Spuren ihres Vaters. Sein sechsjähriger Sohn übt Akkordeon vor den Schweinen. Sie scheinen es ebenfalls zu mögen. Es wird interessant sein herauszufinden ob diese einmal besseres Schweinefleisch produzieren werden. Der Ansager dieser Meldung hat mit dem Wortspiel „Der Klang der Musik" geendet. |

| The 36th Skei-Treffen Accordion Festival will start on Friday November 5th and ends on Sunday November 7th, to which all "old and new" guests are warmly welcome! The venue is the Best Western Skei Hotel, Postboks 23, N-6841 Skei Jolster, Norway. The first Skei-Treffen event started in 1974 in collaboration with the Ford Accordion Club. From 1983 the meeting continued – with Henry Haagenrud as Musical Director and anchor man, guiding the meeting for 10 years in a row! From 1992 Frode Haltli took over the lead as Musical Coordinator, from 1992 to today, with the exception of 2008 when he was busy with a several missions in Cairo. This year musicians from Hungary, Italy and Norway are the highlights of this long lasting festival, including accordionists Frode Haltli, Havard Svendsrud, Kjell Harald Langhaug, Mario D'Amario, and Zoltan Orosz (picture above). Hungary’s Zoltan Orosz appears with his bassist Csaba Pengo and guitarist Zoltan Balogh, perfomorming some pieces of his new CD, being released in December of this year. Bjorn Breilid (guitar / sound and voice) and Bjorn Frederiksberg (bass) also will be performing. All artistes have made their mark far beyond our borders and are highly considered musicians - ensuring all guests will have a fabulous and memorable weekend with music and dancing. |

 On Sunday November 7th the Acme Button Box Club in Westmont, New Jersey, opens in grand style with a one day festival. Throughout the day, from 9am to 4pm, there will be performances and an accordion market where anyone who has an instrument they would like to display for sale may do so, by prior arrangement. All festival events are free.The new Acme Button Club will meet each Friday evening beginning at 8pm, and all meetings – including the festival on November 7th - will be held at the Acme Accordion School & Musikgarten, 322 Haddon Ave, Westmont, NJ 08108. The festival begins at 10am with a workshop presented by Stanley & Joanna Darrow on the ‘Art of Practicing a Musical Instrument’. Benefits derived from musical involvement will be discussed. These include the long term physical, emotional, and social skills. There will be a group photograph taken at 12 noon, and all attendees are requested to participate, preferably with an accordion. At 1pm there will be a concert featuring the Westmont Philharmonia Accordion Orchestra, Westmont Accordion Clubs, the ACME Accordion School Junior Band, Preparatory Band, and Musikgarten Ensembles. There will also be performances by Cajun/Zydeco button accordionist Rik Kaplan, from Washington DC, and Dee Langley, from Minneapolis, who will present specialty ethnic music of the Balkan countries. |

 Composer/accordionist Guy Klucevsek will present 2 solo concerts in the San Diego area on November 19th and 20th. On Friday November 19th Guy performs at the Sushi Contemporary Performance and Visual Arts, 390 11th Ave, (at J Street), San Diego, California, in the ‘Fresh Sound’ series. Highlights of this concert will include the premiere of ‘Nights in the Gardens of Maine’, by Peter Garland, commissioned by Cold Blue Records. Guy will record the piece for Cold Blue in December; and ‘Inside Score’, with a wonderful and hilarious video by Victoria Marks, which imagines the thoughts running through his head as he plays his original score. The video is projected inside a cartoon-like ‘thought bubble’. The piece was created in 1999 for ‘Squeeze Play’, an evening of collaborations that Guy Klucevsek presented at the Kitchen in New York City in 2000. | On December 13th, 8.30pm, to celebrate his 60th birthday, French accordion virtuoso performs in a special concert at the Olympia, Paris. Appearing with Richard Galliano are his Sextet, the New Meeting Quartet, the Tangaria Quartet, and a distinguished guest, Richard’s Italian-born father, the accordionist Lucien Galliano.  Miloš Milivojevic who is reported in this news playing for Royalty has a busy November ahead. His also a member of the London Tango quintet, Kosmos Ensemble and AccordDuo. Internationally, he performed in Russia, Slovenia, Hungary, Italy, Iceland, Serbia and Montenegro, Spain, Canary Islands, Malta, Australia and New Zealand. He has also done live broadcasts on BBC Radio 3, Classic FM, and the Serbian National Radio and TV network.
