 Der 2009 AAA Wettbewerb wird vom 15. bis 19. Juli im Hotel Holiday Inn an der Universität von Memphis, TN stattfinden. Tokarski Mary (Mary Tokarski), Präsident des Festivals garantiert einen außerordentlicheh Event mit Wettbewerben, Konzerten, Workshops, Festival Orchesters, einen Auftritt im Graceland und vieles mehr! Mit dabei sein werden: Tony Lovello (Liberace des Akkordeon), Joe Natoli (Gewinner des letzten Roland V-Akkordeon Wettbewerbes in Los Angeles), Randy Martin, Direktor der Martin Akademie in Fullerton, Kalifornien, der das AAA Festival Orchester dirigieren wird und Frank Busso übernimmt die Leitung in Graceland. Am Donnerstag gibt es Unterhaltung mit "Riders in the Sky" mit dem Akkordeonisten Miskulin Joey, die mehr als 30 Jahr Originale und klassische gespielt haben. Das Jeff Lisenby Ensemble steht am Freitag Abend, den 17. Juli mit einem Konzert am Programm. Neue Kategorien wurden in diesem Jahr im Wettbewerb eingefügt wie ein digitaler/elektronischer AAA Internationale Unterhaltungsmusik, sowie eine Kategorie in Ehren von "The King", Elvis Presley. Weiters gibt es einen internationalen Wettbewerb für Piano Akkordeon mit Preisen die aus dem Fonds Stipendien Carrozza Carmen stammen und einen Maddalena Belfiore Unterhaltungsmusik Wettbewerb für Frauen. Dieser Wettbewerb wird gesponsert von der Greco Mauro Familie, unter der Schirmherrschaft der AAA. In dieses Jahr beginnt auch die Elsie M. Bennett Kategorie.  James Crabb spielt am Samstag, den 20. Juni um 19.30 Uhr das "Akkordeon Concerto" von Sally Beamish mit dem Königlichen Schottischen National Orchester unter der Leitung von Martyn Brabbins, des Zentrums Pickaquoy, Kirkwall, Orkney. Von 22:15 - 23:15 müssen James Crabb und Psappha alle ihre Kräfte bündeln, um der aufregenden Musik von Astor Piazzolla in Spiegeltent, Kirkwall gerecht zu werden. Am Montag, den 22. Juni, 13h-14h wird er in der Kathedrale St Magnus zusammen mit Geir Draugsvoll als Akkordeon Duo ein Programm von Strawinsky, einschließlich der "Petruschka" präsentieren. Dienstag, 23. Juni 15 Uhr bis 16.30 Uhr gibt es den Film "Tango Maestro - Die Geschichte von Piazzolla" im Kino Phoenix, Pickaquoy Center. Am 24. | The University of Missouri – Kansas City (UMKC) Community Accordion Orchestra under the direction of Joan Cochran Sommers presented a spectacular 48th Annual Spring Concert in Kansas City on May 31st. Performing a variety of works, the concert program included: Tambourin from Fêtes d’Hébé by Rameau/Motti, Film Noir: City at Night by famed Los Angeles composer Leonard Stack, Serenade, (Andante Cantabile) Op. 39 by Alexander Comitas, Keniade (I. On the Safari with Herbert, II. Love Play of the Hippos, III. Jumping Gazelles and IV. Meeting of the Maassai Warriors) by Fritz Dobler, Gem of the Kaipara by Gary Daverne with Kevin Friedrich as Accordion Soloist, Suite from Video Games Live (featuring music from “Halo Suite”, Coronation & Baba Yetu from Civilization IV, Bounty Hunter Theme from Advent Rising Suite and Kingdom Hearts”, arranged by Joan Cochran Sommers, with the Video Presentation by UMKC Professor Caitlin Horsmon, Faust Walzer by Gounod and Brasilia Potpouri, both arranged by Willi Munch. The 16 member group received a well deserved standing ovation for their concert from the large audience in attendance. The members of the UMKC Accordion Orchestra for this years concert were Betty Jo Simon, Ron Barrow, Joyce Davis, Kevin Friedrich, Don Lipovac, Christine Jarquio, Bob Eichkorn, Miceky Eichkorn, Karen Boocock, Samantha Jarquio, Amy Hatfield, Cathy Sue Weiss, Mary Ann Covone, Laura Lee Crandall, Nick Baker and Brian Steever.  Italian accordionist Mario D'Amario has released his first CD, titled ‘Carnevale’, contains most of the program performed in recent international competitions and live recordings with a group and orchestra. The accordion used is made by Ballone Burini, whose instruments are now represented by Mario D'Amario.Mario D'Amario is the winner of numerous top flight competitions, including those of the CIA, CMA, Castelfidardo and Ikaalinen.?  The Senior Follies production of ‘On The Road Again’, is to be performed at the East County Performing Arts Center, 210 E. Main Street, El Cajon, CA 92020. Performances are on June 19th, 20th, 25th, 26th and 27th at 7pm, and June 20th, 21st, 27th and 28th at 2pm. The five-member San Diego accordion group, The Polka Dots, are playing in all performances. |
