 En el teatro Astra se han realizado cuatro maravillosos eventos musicales como parte de las celebraciones del 30 aniversario del Museo del Acordeón de Castelfidardo. La audiencia ha ovacionado a los grandes acordeonistas internacionales presentes. El Tangaria Quartet con Richard Galliano (acordeón), Philippe Aerts (contrabajo), Sébastian Surel (violín) y Rafael Mejias (percusión) actuaron el miércoles 25 de mayo. El sábado 28 de mayo, la Fisorchestra "Città di Castelfidardo" dirigida por Maestro Riccardo Burattini y con el artista francés Ludovic Beier en el acordeón Roland fueron los más destacados en el teatro. Durante estos cuatro días, se han honrado muchas personalidades del mundo del acordeón con premios especiales por su largo periodo de contribución al acordeón y a la comunidad del acordeón en general. |

 El 3r Festival Internacional "Días de Acordeóon - 2011" tuvo lugar del 19 al 23 de mayo del 2011 en Ugljevik-Bijeljina, Bosnia Herzegovina. El director del festival fue Kornelije Stankovic.Entre los diferentes actos del festival hubo conciertos, master clases, una escuela de verano, presentaciones musicales y competiciones para solistas, grupos y composiciones de cámara en varias categorías de edad. El programa del concierto incluyó artistas invitados reconocidos internacionalmente: Vladimir Murza (Ukraina), Alexander Poeluev (Rusia), Vladimir Oleynik (Ukraina) y muchos otros artistas de diferentes países de Europa. Hubo más de 250 participantes de 11 países en el festival y en las competiciones: Bosnia Herzegovina, Serbia, Austria, Hungría, Ukraina, Rusia, Croacia, Macedonia, Eslovenia. Los ganadores y sus profesores recibieron premios en metálico en todas las categorías. El evento ha sido declarado como todo un éxito. El 4º Festival Internacional "Días de Acordeón - 2012" se celebrará del 17 al 21 de mayo del 2012. |

 Los próximos 11 y 12 de junio, en el Club Marconi de Sidney, se celebrará el Festival y Campeonato Internacional de Acordeón de Australia. Este es el 18º año en que este evento está apoyado por la Asociación Australiana de Porfesores de Acordeón (AATA), cuya presidenta es Tania Lukic-Marx.El evento de 2011 promete ser innovador y contará con participantes que provienen de Nueva Zelanda, Australia, China y Rusia. El sábado 12 de junio, a partir de las 10 a.m. tendrá lugar una presentación de Acordeón Digital Roland, seguida de una Master Class de acordeón con el galardonado con la copa mundial del 2003, Aleksey Peresidly. Aleksey se ha graduado en la Gnessin Russian National Music Academy con el Profesor Vitacheslav Semionov como tutor. Presentado por la AATA y Roland Corporation Australia, el Concierto de Gala de Acordeón tendrá lugar el domingo 12 de junio a las 2 p.m. (apertura de puertas a la 1 p.m.). Vincent Lhermet gana el 4o Premio en la Competición Internacional Gaudeamus, Amsterdam – Países Bajosby Francesca Pigini, Pigini Accordion Factory |
 El domingo 17 de abril, el acordeonista francés Vincent Lhermet ganó el 4º premio en el Campeonato Internacional Gaudeamus de Amsterdam, uno de los concursos internacionales más prestigiosos de música contemporánea, abierto a todos los instrumentos. Fue el intérprete más joven y el único acordeonista entre los cinco finalistas en el Muziekgebouw, Amsterdam.La edición número 38 de la competición internacional Gaudeamus Interpreters tuvo lugar entre el 10 y el 17 de abril y fue organizada por el Music Center, de los Países Bajos. En la primera vuelta hubo 83 participantes de 31 países, de los cuales 15 accedieron a la segunda vuelta. Actualmente, Vincent Lhermet está acabando sus estudios de Master en la Sibelius Academy de Helsinki, Finlandia, con el Profesor Matti Rantanen. Fue galardonado con el 1r premio en la Competición Internacional Arrasate-Hiria, España (2006), y actua regularmente como solista y músico de cámara en muchos festivales alrededor del mundo. | Del 24 al 31 de Julio, Angel Luis Castaño (profesor de acordeón del CSMA - Conservatorio Superior de Música de Aragón en Zaragoza), será el profesor de acordeón invitado en el IV Curso Internacional de Música de Segovia. Este curso está abierto a todos los niveles sin límite de edad y se celebrará en la Universidad IE de Segovia. El curso ofrece clases individuales y de cámara, entrada libre para los conciertos del Festival Internacional de Música de Segovia y teatro musical y actividades de tiempo libre para los alumnos más pequeños. Durante el curso también se organizan conciertos de alumnos y profesores. El IV Curso Inbternacional de Música Ciudad de Segovia incluye especialidades instrumentales como piano, violín ,viola, violonchelo, órgano, percusión y acordeón. Angel Luis Castaño acaba de llegar de Bélgica y Holanda donde ha realizado varios conciertos con la formación rejoice!. Rejoice! es un nuevo grupo formado por David del Puerto (guitarra eléctrica), Laia Falcón (soprano) y Angel Luis Castaño (acordeón). El pasado fin de semana rejoice! participó con el ballet "Carmen Replay" de David del Puerto (versión concierto con videoproyección) en la programación del DeSingel Muziek Theater en Amberes y el Festival Operadagen en Rotterdam. Carmen Replay se estrenó en Madrid el pasado año y se ha programado de nuevo en el Auditorio de la Universidad Carlos III con otras cinco funciones (versión Ballet) con la Compañía Nacional de Danza 2. | Kansas City based ensemble Vivant! and Karen Fremar, US Champion (A.A.A.) and C.I.A. World Virtuoso Entertainment Champion, recently completed a successful and enjoyable concert tour of Wisconsin. The ensemble performed full concerts Sunday May 22nd on the Harrington Arts Center 2011 Concert Series in Superior, WI; and Monday May 23rd for the Milwaukee Accordion Club in Milwaukee, WI. The mixed ensemble programmed five original Fremar works, including A.A.A. Commissioned work in honor of Faithe Deffner – ‘Herricks Road’, ‘Jammin’, ‘Free’ (tango), ‘Whatever You Do’, and the Wisconsin Premiere of her new Courtney S. Turner Charitable Trust commissioned work, ‘Night at the Pla-Mor’. Mixing blues, swing, pop, tango, polka, and originals, Vivant! spans the gamut of musical tastes, but not without adding their original touch to each work. The innovative group of musicians was received with great enthusiasm by both audiences, with performances resulting in standing ovations and encore requests. Vivant’s program illustrated the versatility of the accordion in a setting of synthesized sound and innovative percussion. The group features from one to three accordions, two performers on Korg and Roland Synthesizers, vocals, and a an array of percussion; including set, congas, djembe, and other interesting percussion toys, such as the rain stick and hotel desk bell. Vivant! enjoyed a tour of the 1700+ fascinating bellows driven instruments in the World of Accordions Museum, given by Museum Director, Dr. Helmi Harrington, and also were treated to a beautiful reception following their Superior concert (which also celebrated Dr. Harrington’s birthday). The group was excited to find many enthusiastic accordion aficionados in Wisconsin and enjoyed sharing their new brand of music, now dubbed ‘The Kansas City Sound’. Sherry Huiras, Board President, and Shirl Berry, Past President of the Milwaukee Accordion Club Board, were instrumental in coordinating the group’s Milwaukee performance.  Accordionist Renée de la Prade releases ‘Notes From Underground’, her first solo CD in early June. Renée says, “In addition to the funny pop songs ‘Gutterpunk’, ‘Nerd Love’, ‘Oaktown’, ‘Hey Robbie’, there are sweet ballads, Motown, New Orleans, Afro-Cuban grooves, and of course a wee bit of traditional Irish and French music. Every track is guaranteed danceable”. | The Accordions Worldwide news for the week ending May 30th 1997 featured a report of a junior school concert in Beijing, China, involving over 300 young accordionists, watched by an audience of 1,800. This story is an indication of the huge potential for accordion development in China, where our favorite instrument receives encouragement from the government. CHILDREN'S ACCORDION CONCERT IN "THE 21st CENTURY" HOTEL - CHINA Contributed by Wu Shou Zhi, President of the Chinese Accordion Society On the 19th of May at 9.00 am., more than 300 pupils, who study in "Hapingchun" Primary School of Beijing, held an accordion concert at "Century Theatre" in the 21st Century Hotel in Beijing city. These students are the accordion students of Mr. Sun Renpu, an accordion teacher of Xianghe Children's Family in Beijing. The concert was held to celebrate Hong Kong's reverting back to China in July. An audience of about 1,800 watched the concert, including music teachers of schools, accordion students and their parents. Beijing TV Station broadcast the concert live. The young accordionists performed solos, duets, trios, and 230 students played in an accordion group, performing: "Chinese Young Pioneers' Song" and the "National Anthem". |

 Rafal Luc and Ksenija Sidorova, accordion students at the Royal Academy of Music, have their final recital examinations on Monday June 6th. These are open to the public and audience is invited. They will run from 10.45 am – 1pm in the David Josefowitz Recital Hall at the RAM, Marylebone Road, London NW1 5HT. All are welcome.Rafal Luc, from Poland, and Ksenija Sidorova, from Latvia, have been studying with Professor Owen Murray.  Accordionist Mirjana Petercol has been involved with the production of ‘Wir sind daheim’, a contemporary chamber opera, with music by Moritz Eggert, to be premiered in the hall at the Musikhochschule, Mainz, on June 3rd, 7.30pm. Other performances are on June 5th, 6th, and 17th, all at 7.30pm. The MD is Tungsten Koloseus. Entry is free.The work is arranged for 4 classical singers and a ‘modern’ instrumental ensemble: electric bass, electric guitar, electric violin, drums, keyboard and accordion. The text, by Helmut Krausser, is a mixture of absurd and black humor, and is challenging for both cast and musicians. |
