Швейцарский национальный фестиваль аккордеонных оркестров под эгидой ‘Akkordeon Schweiz’ – Швейцарияby Kimmo Mattila |

 Швейцарская аккордеонная организация, член Международной Конфедерации Аккордеонистов (CIA) ‘Akkordeon Schweiz’ устроила большой праздник для аккордеонных оркестров и ансамблей в городе Дисентис, средняя Швейцария.Местная ассоциация ‘Verein Uniun da harmonicas Cadi (UhC)’ выступила в качестве принимающей стороны этого замечательного события – 17 фестиваля ‘Fiasta federal d’accordion 2016’, где более 80 аккордеонных оркестров исполняли свои конкурсные программы. Оркестры были разделены на 4 уровня по сложности исполняемой программы. Заведовал организацией фестиваля Флавио Мюрер (Flavio Murer) вместе со своей отличной командой. Музыкальным руководителем выступил Руэди Марти (Ruedi Marty), который несколько раз работал в жюри «Кубка мира» и представлял Швейцарию на Конгрессе CIA. Репертуар оркестров состоял в основном из популярных произведений известных композиторов- аккордеонистов, таких, как Рудольф Вюртнер, Фриц Доблер, Адольф Гётц, Ренато Буи, Ханс-Гюнтер Кольц и Ханс Йозеф Ведиг. В программах прослеживалось немецкое влияние, но швейцарские оркестры продемонстрировали свой собственный выраженный характер и интересные традиции. Для страны с населением 8 миллионов человек иметь более 100 активных и хороших аккордеонных оркестров просто замечательно. Фестивальные выступления шли одновременно на пяти площадках. Фестиваль также является важным местом встречи швейцарских преподавателей аккордеона и профессиональных музыкантов, которые приняли участие в работе жюри. Кроме того, на фестивале в Дисентисе выступили несколько оркестров из Германии. Победителем фестиваля стал оркестр ‘German Akkordeon-Orchester Grenzach’ под управлением Тани Рошенбергер (Tanja Rauschenberger). Оркестр исполнил «Чакону» Ханса Йозефа Ведига и современную пьесу сербского композитора Славко Суклара (Slavko Suklar) под названием «Цвета» (‘The Colors’). Выступление прошло на необычайно высоком уровне, и оркестр получил за него наивысшие баллы. Сразу же после каждого выступления дирижеры общались с жюри и в течение примерно 10 минут обсуждали программу и исполнение, таким образом мгновенно получая обратную связь. Этот момент стал очень важной и полезной особенностью фестиваля. Этот большой фестиваль был проведен в небольшом городке, который был полностью занят артистами оркестров. Внеконкурсная программа включала множество различных музыкальных выступлений и общественных мероприятий. Нико Карстенсу (Nico Carstens) 90! Юбилейный концерт, Блумфонтейн – Южная Африкаby Rob Howard |
 Концерт в честь 90-летия южноафриканского аккордеониста и композитора Нико Карстенса состоится в среду 13 июля в 17.00 в рамках фестиваля искусств ‘Vrystaat Kunstefees’ в Блумфонтейне. Среди приглашенных артистов популярный аккордеонист Станислав Ангелов.Карстенс родился 10 февраля 1926 года в Кейптауне в семье голландцев. Свой первый аккордеон Карстенс получил в возрасте 13 лет и спустя шесть месяцев выиграл музыкальный конкурс для взрослых исполнителей. Свою первую музыкальную пьесу он сочинил в возрасте 17 лет. Всего им написано около 1200 песен, наиболее известной из которых является «Замбези», написанная в 1950-е годы. Разные версии этой песни записали такие музыканты, как Эдди Калверт (Eddie Calvert), Акер Билк (Acker Bilk), Берт Кемпферт (Bert Kaempfert), Джеймс Ласт (James Last), Шэдоус (The Shadows), Флойд Крамер (Floyd Cramer), Джонни Данкворт (Johnny Dankworth) и многие другие. В 1950 году Карстенс сформировал свою первую группу. Он записал более 90 альбомов, которые были проданы тиражом более 2 миллионов копий в Южной Африке.  19 июня 2016 года в Санкт-Петербурге состоялся национальный квалификационный отбор на два престижных международных конкурса «Кубок мира» «Трофей мира» 2016 года, проходящих под эгидой Международный аккордеонных конфедераций (CIA и CMA соответственно). По правилам этих организаций в конкурсах такого уровня могут принимать участие лишь кандидаты, отобранные и одобренные национальными ассоциациями. Отбор прошел в зале Санкт-Петербургской Консерватории по инициативе доцента кафедры Санкт-Петербургской Государственной Консерватории им. Н.А. Римского-Корсакова В.Е. Орлова при поддержке «Союза Гармонистов, Баянистов и Аккордеонистов» и вице-президента Музыкального Комитета CIA, старшего преподавателя РАМ А.В. Селиванова. В квалификационное жюри вошли известные музыканты – Мирко Патарини (президент Музыкального Комитета CIA, Италия), Александр Селиванов (Москва), Юлия Америкова (Москва), Владимир Орлов (Санкт-Петербург). В отборе приняли участие ансамбль и 13 солистов из Москвы, Санкт-Петербурга и Петрозаводска, приславшие заявки в различные категории конкурсов. Кандидаты должны были исполнить программы, соответствующие требованиям этих конкурсов. По результатам прослушивания для участия в конкурсах были отобраны следующие кандидаты: «Кубок мира» (CIA): - Назарий Левицкий (колледж РАМ им Гнесиных, Москва), категория Junior Coupe; - Данил Логинов (МГКИ, Химки), категория Junior Coupe; - Алексей Алексеев (МГИМ им Шнитке, Москва), категория Masters Coupe; - Анар Гусейнов (РАМ им Гнесиных, Москва), категория Masters Coupe. «Трофей мира» (CMA): - Никита Алымов (ССМШ им. Н.А. Римского-Корсакова, Санкт-Петербург), категория National Trophee 17 and under; - Георгий Николаев (СПбМУ им. Н.А. Римского-Корсакова, Санкт-Петербург), категория National Trophee 17 and under; - Назарий Левицкий (колледж РАМ им Гнесиных, Москва), категория Junior Classique; - Анар Гусейнов (РАМ им Гнесиных, Москва), категория Master; - Аркадий Шкворов (СПбГК им.  Jack Emblow has finally retired after a long and highly productive career as a professional accordionist that began in the mid-1940s when he joined the Al Podesta Accordion Band. Born in 1930, Jack had piano lessons as a boy, but after a couple of years switched to the accordion. By the early 1950s he was playing for dancing in small combos around England, and in the mid-1950s began working as a session musician in recording studios, most notably at EMI Abbey Rd, where he was virtually resident until the turn of the century. As a session player, he worked with a huge number of artists, including singers such as Alma Cogan, Michael Holliday, Tom Jones, Grace Jones, Donovan, Peter Sarstedt, Sandie Shaw, etc, accordionists such as Jimmy Shand and Dermot O’Brien, and orchestras led by George Martin, Ted Heath, Michel Legrand, Henry Mancini, Nelson Riddle, etc. He even played on the Beatles ‘All you need is love’ session in 1967. Emblow is also featured on the soundtracks of many films, radio and TV programmes. In 1973 the BBC persuaded Emblow to form and front The French Collection, a quintet designed to provide light-hearted happy sounding incidental music for the Ray Moore Show on Radio 2. Such was their popularity a large number of albums were recorded that sold well for decades. Jack Emblow is a renowned jazz accordionist, and he has performed with the likes of Martin Taylor, Stephane Grappelli, Toots Thielmans, Art Van Damme, Don Lusher, George Chisholm, and many more. He and accordionist Tony Compton began performing jazz standards as a duo in 1987, appearing at accordion clubs and festivals with great success until last year, when they decided it was time to stop. In 2001 Jack Emblow was elected Honorary President of the National Accordion Organisation (NAO) in recognition of his outstanding and long-term contribution to the accordion. |

 On Monday evening, June 27, a 1960s Excelsior Symphony Grand was stolen from a car in Providence, Rhode Island. It belongs to Bill Moretti, a professional accordionist who has owned this instrument since was new. The accordion has mics, one foot missing and a wooden piece added to the bass strap area. Please be on the look-out for this accordion on Craig’s List, pawn shops, etc. If you are approached by someone trying to sell one of these instruments, please try to get the make, model and license plate number of their vehicle and alert the police. This festival proved to be a great success, and became an annual event. Amateur ensembles, orchestras and harmonica friends from all over the world are invited to this international music show. Prizes for winners in all categories equal CzK 10,000. Organizers will award other special prizes according to the recommendations of the jury and all participating orchestras will receive valuable certificates.  Charnwood Publishing has released three new compositions by Douglas Ward. DW933 Bootstrap Tango: Standard: Grade 5 Approximate playing time: 3 min 10 sec. Written in D minor in 4/4 time, after an introduction which includes a bar in 6/4 time, the first section proceeds as a normal tango, with a characteristic accompanying bass that sets and keeps its rhythmic flow. The treble is kept busy, with melody notes sustained over canonic harmony phrases underneath. The end of the first section then morphs into a more romantic section, in D Major, with its very hummable theme, and similar rhythmic basses. It then reverts to D minor, but with a different, second singing 16-bar theme before a repeat of the D Major section, and then (almost) the original theme in D minor, plus a little flourish at the end. It is ideally suited to Stradella bass instruments. DW934 Precipice: Standard: Grade 8+, Written in the keys of G and E Major, with excursions into F# major and B minor, there are varying degrees of complexity within what looks at first to be a simple piece. Unlike much of today’s music, this piece presents the listener with several melodic motifs that can be remembered, and the player with musical and instrumental challenges that require both technique and interpretative skills. Time Signatures Used: 3/4, 4/4, 5/4, 6/4, 7/8, 8/4, and 14/8 DW935 Tributaries: Standard: Grade 6, Approximate playing time: 3 min 0 sec. Written in E minor in 4/4 time, the composition starts by commanding attention, and is followed by several rubato bars. This is followed by an eight-bar melody with basses that require left hand dexterity when moving from Em to Eb7. The second section has a fugue-like motif – the first four bars of which have a staccato directive, the second four bars are in a looser semi-legato form; the eight bars are then repeated one octave higher. An eight bar bellows-shake section follows, and this leads into a slightly faster 15-bar section before a recap to the original theme and melody leading to an accelerating finish.
