It
was in 1959 that Miss Pauline Noon became a Director and Company
Secretary of Francis Wright (Musical instruments) Ltd as well as
co founder of the Charnwood
Publishing Company.
She was appointed Secretary of the British College of Accordionists
in 1965, a role she stills holds today!. Having played with the
BCA Orchestra, BCA Chamber Quartet and Francis Wright Players for
a number of years, she is now a member of the Leicester Accordion
Orchestra and MD of the LSM Accordion and Guitar Band.
She has
been associated with the NAO since 1958, assisting in the organisation
of the National Championships "Accordion Day" from 1965
to 1970 as well as the CIA Coupe
Mondiale in both 1968 when the event was held in Leicester and
2001 in London.
In 2003
she was chosen to receive the NAO Merit Award in honour of her long
service to the accordion. Her long career has been truly astonishing,
working long hours, most of the time in the background.
As was stated "Congratulations Pauline, how very deserving
you are to receive this award." |
