| Due to the ethnic make-up of the community of West, the most popular music you will hear is Czech polkas and waltzes. The West members meet the
fourth Tuesday of each month, and enjoy discussions of local and state wide accordion
activities, performances of favorite music by members and guests. Members enjoy
learning from each other and enjoy the fellowship of enjoying the accordion with
fellow members and guests. A number of the players perform solo at the Annual Westfest activities, held Labor Day Weekend each year. | |

The
West Accordion Association is Host for the Annual Accordion Squeeze-Off held each
year in late June or early July. Accordion clubs from throughout Texas are usually
represented and participate in the day long activity. We also have many individuals
who come and participate.
