"Open Forum " Accordion Family Discussion Time
President Norman Seaton Speaks:
It gives me great pleasure to present the 2009 National Accordion Convention! For 2009, the focus has been to network with other accordion organization by combining the talent from other areas to build a fantastic convention.
The official annual business meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 12, 2009. Topics to be discussed include election of officials and related legal requirements. The agenda follows the procedures established in the bylaws of the Association.
Reversing Previous Decisions
Note: The National Accordion Association (NAA) is no longer interested in recording convention activities and trying to promote the convention via DVD distribution networks. The related costs just does not produce the expected benefits.
Video Taping and Recording of Musicians and Conventioneers
By registering for the convention, all participants are
- Authorizing the media (TV, radio, newspapers, etc.) to interview, record, and to publish this as general public information. We will still be encouraging media coverage.
- The Dallas-based media is the nation's top experts. They have historically done a great job promoting the NAA and accordion activities.
- YouTube and related recordings
- Due to the popularity of such recordings, this style of marketing is very effective.
- Prior to distributing such recordings on the web, get permission from the performer(s)
- No one is authorized to distribute someone else's recording (sell and/or give-away) for any other reason unless that person gives prior permission.
