The "band camp" schedule is located on the bottom of this page
Check out the youth page for the youth activities including the orchestra and bands.

The honorary director for the "2012 National Accordion Band Camp" is Arleen Faulkner. In 2011, the Accordion World lost a number of wonderful supporters and performers, including Arleen. She served the NAA very well as the secretary and music librarian; therefore, we dedicate the 2012 Band Camp in her memory.
Mr. Albreski's National Accordion Association Adult Fun Band music book is dedicated to the memory of Arleen Faulkner. The book is available now for $10.00 plus $1.00 for mailing. Contact Dick Albreski to purchase a book in advance. JuAccord@hotmail.com or call 405-721-0564
The orchestra music is available on the web right now!
Murl is an independent, modern accordionist, pianist, composer, teacher and recording artist who performs pop, rock, zydeco, country, jazz, blues and various ethnic styles on piano and accordion.
This year Dick will be directing both the youth band and the adult "recreational music fun band."
Dick writes, "What a joy and challenge to be the guest conductor of the first recognized recreational adult band. To me recreation is fun and that’s exactly what I have in mind. This band is for the less experienced who have fears of playing with a group or perhaps have never played with a major group. The music will be relaxed but still exciting. I look forward to working with you and ‘thanks’ N.A.A. for thinking I can do it. I’ll be Dallas a day earlier for anyone who wants additional help with my arrangements. See you then."
For 2012, Gordon Kohl returns to the National Accordion Convention as an accordion band director!
Thank you for scheduling me to direct the band camp music again in 2012. I always enjoy the Texas convention because of the freedom and willingness to work as a group to play music. This includes the many jam sessions, bands, and accordion orchestras. For my session I intend to experiment with the instrumentation, arrangements, and interpretations. Who knows, maybe we can even set some trends for all festival and convention-based accordion orchestras.

Hour 1: Commercializing Your Musical Talents (Thursday 12:30 p.m.)
During this presentation, Betty Jo will cover repertoire branding, finding paying jobs, setting rates, writing contracts, handling conflicts, and related topics..
Hour 2: Teaching more advanced students. If you are interested in taking a lesson, bring your sheet music. The lessons will end with a "Question and Answer" session related to both the demonstration and training sessions. Her workshops should be attended by those who are ready to “perform for money.”
Those of you wanting to be teachers should take advantage of watching and questioning a professional. If you want to take a lesson with Betty Jo during this session, bring your music.
