The Accordion Orchestra of the Ivan Matetic-Ronjgov Music School from Pula has been led by Tatjana Lajic since the school year 1996/97. Already in the first year of its existence the orchestra gave concerts in Pula, Rijeka and Bologna. In the same year, 1997, it won second prize at the 27th International Accordionists Encounters in Pula. The next year the orchestra gave a large number of performances at school concerts and participated in the Festival of Musical Works in Pula. The school year 1998/99 was highly successful, as the 37th Students' Croatian Music and Dance Competition, held April 1999, the orchestra won first prize and the title of best orchestra in the competition; in May 1999, the orchestra won first prize at the 28th International Accordionists Encounter in Pula; and in October the same year the orchestra won first prize at the 24th International Competition of Accordion Orchestras and Soloist in the Italian city of Castelfidardo.

was born in 1968 in Pula (Croatia) where she received her primary and secondary musical education. As a student she won several awards and received recognitions. She graduated in 1992 from the Musical Culture Department of the Faculty of Pedagogy in Pula. In the same year she took the post of regular professor of accordion at the Ivan Matetic-Ronjgov Scool of Music in Rijeka. Since 1994 she is teaching accordion at the Music School of the same name in Pula. From 1995 to 1999 she was appointed Head of the Accordion Department.

 
Over the last few years her students have participated with great success in accordion competitions at home and abroad. She has also been conducting the Accordion Orchestra of the Ivan Matetic-Ronjgov Music School since 1996. Under her leadership, the orchestra has won first prizes at Croatian and international competitions.
