Since their formation of the Moscow Duo in 1995, Evgenij Grechov and Aleksandr Ushakov have concertized throughout Russia as well as in Denmark, Portugal, Germany, Korea, Italy and the United States .

In October 1998 the Moscow Duo participated in the International contest "Citta Di Castelfidardo Prize" in Italy and was awarded first prize.

The variety of music in their program ranging from classical music to the colorful Russian Folk Music, mostly performed from their own arrangements and transcriptions regularly breings the audiences to their feet..

Their varied repertoire includes music by:

J. S. Bach, Vivaldi, Mozart, Johann Strauss, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov, Rimski Korsakov, Piazzolla, Frosini, McDowell, Chernikov, Gridjin, Derbenko, Zolotariew, Panitzsky, Alabijev, Russian Folk Melodies and Scandinavian Folk Music.

The Moscow Duo has appeared at performances in such places as Church concerts, international music festivals, cultural events as well as at private functions.


 
 
Evgenij Grechov was born in 1969 in Tscheljabinsk in the Ural Mountains. He began his musical career when he was seven years old, and at the age of 13 he graduated from the school of music in Tscheljabinsk.

At 15 years old he went to Moscow to continue his musical education at the Gnesin's College. After four years education he finished college and subsequently began his studies at the Gnesin's Academy as a pupil of Professor Friedrich Lips. Evgenij Grechov graduated from theGnesin Academy in 1996.

In addition to his engagement in the Moscow Duo, he is now working as a music teacher at one of the many music schools for children in Moscow. Evgenij has previously played as a soloist in Germany, the United States and Denmark and has also participated in numerous competitions and festivals.


 
 
Aleksandr Ushakov was born in a suburb of Moscow. At a very young age he started playing the violin, but at the age of 5 he replaced the violin with the bayan.

In 1989 he graduated from the music school and entered the music college in the town of Elektrostal near Moscow. After graduating from the college in 1993 he entered the Gnesin's Academy as a pupil of Professor Friedrich Lips. Aleksandr graduated from the Gnesin Academy in May 1999.

Aleksandr regularly participates in international festivals and contests in Russia as well as abroad.

In addition to performing in the Moscow Duo, Aleksandr teachers at a music college and music schools.
