MARCATO GmbH is located in a small, quaint village near Lucerne, the most famous city of Switzerland which is known for it's Chapel Bridge, lovely shopping sites and the surrounding mountains.

We, the MARCATO TEAM, are three young friends: Marina, Reto and Hugo. Some years ago, we met in an accordion orchestra, and as we were really eager for our instrument we soon started to listen, collect, read, join workshops .... all we could get about it.

In 1994 we decided to let people anticipate and profit from our hobby. We founded "MARCATO Music Distribution GmbH", created our first sales promotion catalogue with CD's and a few books and hoped to find some interested customers.

At the moment, our third catalogue is in circulation. In the past few years our customers told us what they need and are looking for: high quality, progressive products, an advisory service and last but not least an open ear for quesions and problems all about the accordion.

Up to now, we still sell our articles only by mail-order business or at stands. We don't have the intention to open a shop, as we are still happy and successful in our "common" professions which are: music teacher, notary, electrical engineer.

It's our aim to make the accordion better known in Switzerland, it's various possibilities, it's interesting history, it's fascination.
