Featured Program: Dance to the Music of the ‘ED HAUSE BAND’

Ed Hause has been entertaining crowds in the Milwaukee area and abroad since the early 1980's.  Through his exuberance on any of his several Hengel concertinas, Ed brings his large repertoire of old time favorites and newer polka music to the people.  Many polka people around northern and central Wisconsin know Ed best for the "oompah" style he brings to polkafests and public dances.  Accompanying Ed will be Ron VanDenboom, Gil Melendez, BB Carter and Tom Brusky.

Featured Program: ‘VALENTINE’S DANCE’ with Music by the ‘TOM BRUSKY BAND’ Featuring Special Guest  ‘DAVID AUSTIN’        

A versatile ensemble comprised of talented, award-winning musicians: Bob Breuer, Dan Tutsch, and special guest musician, David Austin from the Madison area.  Their sound focuses on Slovenian and Cleveland-style polkas and waltzes, although their music sets often include popular standards, classic country, Latin-American, foxtrots, two-steps and swing.  This is a ‘Valentine’s Dance’, so be sure to ‘wear your red’.

Featured Program: ‘STAS VENGLEVSKI’ – ‘ROBIN PLUER’ and ‘ENSEMBLE’                        
‘MILWAUKEE ACCORDION CLUB 20th YEAR ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION’
 
In celebration of the Milwaukee Accordion Club’s 20th Year Anniversary, anticipate a spectacular evening.  Prepare to be mesmerized with the artistry and dazzling technical command of Stas Venglevski on the bayan.  A two-time first prize winner of bayan competition in the Republic of Moldova, Stas is a graduate of the Russian Academy of Music in Moscow where he received his Masters Degree in Music under the tutelage of the famed Russian bayanist, Friedrich Lips.  Sharing the stage with Stas will be perennial WAMI (Wisconsin Area Music Industry) Award winner, French chanteuse, Robin Pluer.  Wherever she performs, whether it’s her funky R&B or flirtatious medley of French  ‘oldies,’  Robin Pluer effortlessly captivates her audiences. She can transport you to a more genteel France through chansons of the past, or strike your inner musical soul with her original R&B style.  Accompanying this sensational duo will be accordionist John Simkus, bassist John Babbit and Terry Smirl on drums.

Skip WagnerFeatured Program: The Skip Wagner Variety Show

HE’S BACK!! You asked for a return engagement, so we’ve invited Skip Wagner back.
 
A legendary entertainer, Skip Wagner is regarded by his many fans as one of the funniest, most versatile entertainers. He has WOWED audiences of all ages from Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas to the Opryland Hotel in Nashville. He has met Presidents and has received an Entertainment Award from President Reagan. Skip plays a total of eighteen musical instruments plus does vocals, but he’s most famous for playing two trumpets at one time . . . IN HARMONY!!
 
Joining Skip on stage will be keyboardist and vocalist, Jim Scheppele, Scott Koehn on accordion, and Jerry Kaye, sax and clarinet. Incorporating comedy with many styles of music, this show provides something for everyone.

vivantFeatured Program: Vivant!

Vivant!  is made up of multi-talented musicians whose primary musical training centers around the accordion in addition to various  keyboard instruments and other acoustic and percussion instruments. The focus of the group is to share the unique versatility of the accordion and the various styles of music that are possible to produce with the instrument.

The sound of Vivant! combines the richness of the acoustic accordion with the electronic sounds of synthesizers, trombone, and various percussion instruments. Their style combines the art of virtuoso concert accordion with jazz, pop, Latin and tango. Vivant! explores original music written for the accordion, Baroque and other classical works suitable for the instrument, as well as tango, jazz and other popular works. Above all, their music is exciting, captivating and alive!

You won’t want to miss this opportunity to see and hear this unique group of world-talented musicians.

Featured Program:                      Dance to the Music of  ‘SQUEEZEBOX’       

SQUEEZEBOX is a collaboration of three exceptional musicians with extensive performance backgrounds: Ted Lange, Mollie Busta, and Dave Burner.  Based in NW Ohio, this lively band specializes in multiple genres of music including polkas, waltzes, fox-trots, 2-steps, big band and swing.  With over 60 years combined experience among the core members of the band, they're able to accommodate requests that bridge generations, nationalities, and musical styles.  The dance floor will be ‘open’, so be sure to wear your dancing shoes.

Joe MartinoFeatured Program: JOE MARTINO GROUP

Joe Martino is a singer and Electronic midied accordionist performing Italian and American standards for audiences around the globe.  As part of his performance, Joe combines a classic accordion sound with MIDI technology to create a "one man orchestral effect".  In addition Joe performs with the accompaniment of a bassist and drummer.  He has appeared in numerous Italian festivals, concerts, commercials and other venues and before politicians and other celebrities. He has film credits and worked with entertainers Al Martino and Henry Mancini. Joe sings "Sinatra" with emotion and conviction, and audience participation is expected during his renditions of the Tarantellas and other accordion classics.

Alex Meisner BandFeatured Program: The ALEX MEIXNER BAND

Alex’s high energy performances of everything from old time polkas and waltzes to more jazz and pop influenced repertoire has won over audiences throughout North America and continues to attract new fans. Equally at home with traditional and contemporary styles, performances on about a dozen instruments and vocals in English, German, Slovenian, Croatian, Czech and more- the band’s reputation continues to grow.
From dynamic polkas and waltzes to Gypsy folk songs to Rocktoberfest parodies, Swing, Latin and Country dance music- the dizzying array of music is perfect for everything from World Music Concerts and family friendly folk festivals to a frenetic non-stop dance party. The Dance Floor will be available for those wishing to dance.

Cory PesaturoFeatured Program: Cory Pesaturo

World Digital Accordion Champion Cory Pesaturo is a graduate of the prestigious New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, MA, where he was the first musician ever to major and graduate in the accordion. Pesaturo's extensive resumé includes appearances at the White House for President and Mrs. Clinton on 4 different occasions. On one of those occasions, he became the youngest person ever to perform at a State Dinner. He has since performed at 6 events for the Clintons and continues to keep in touch as proved by his 12 letters from the First family. Because of this, Cory is featured in Mrs. Clinton’s book “An Invitation to the White House”. In 2009 alone, Cory performed on 5 different continents.

Megitza QuartetFeatured Program: MEGITZA QUARTET

The band is fronted by Malgorzata Babiarz - also an upright bass player - with her strong, expressive voice and a Highlander Gypsy soul, Andreas Kapsalis, -an exceptional guitarist of a Greek descent, who uses a unique technique of finger tapping and incorporates his guitar’s body as percussion instrument, together with Marek Lichota - a Polish bayan virtuoso, and all backed by an excellent innovative drummer Jamie Gallagher, who uses a hybrid, multicultural drum set.

With their high energy stage presence, original compositions, and arrangements, the Megitza Quartet offers it’s audiences an insurmountable dose of adventure where even without knowing the language anyone can be captivated by their songs, that give a pinch of inspiration, joy, and excitement!
